BSOD after conversion to Amazon EC2 instance for workstation 8

I have an existing instance of Windows 2008 R2 in Amazon EC2, which I am trying to convert to VMware Workstation so I can use it to test scenarios.  I followed the steps listed in the following article and was able to correctly convert the instance in a virtual machine in VMware Workstation 8.0.5:

http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1018015

The problem I'm having is that when I turn the virtual computer I get a BSOD during the boot sequence (see attached screenshot).  I saw a fix from Microsoft for BSOD caused by storport.sys, however, this patch describes a problem that occurs gradually over a period of time due to a leak of memory, which doesn't seem like the same problem I am experiencing.  I think it has something to do with a mismatch of disk controller drivers.  How can I solve this problem?

http://filedb.experts-exchange.com/incoming/2013/03_w10/639804/vm.png

You need to access somehow on the target disks. You can use VMware Workstation to mount the VMDK target or you can temporarily attach the drive containing the Windows directory to an another Windows VM (in this case, you must open disk management and select command analyze disks in the Actions menu and the new virtual disk from VM Amazon converted should become visible). After that:

* run regedit on this machine

* Select the HKLM hive

* on the file menu, select "Load hive" command

* Go to the hive of the registry SYSTEM target (under WINDOWS\system32\config\system * on the target disk * that was attached to the virtual machine, but * No * the directory of Windows running)

* Choose a name for the new key (e. g. ec2-system)

* Go to ec2-system\ControlSet001\Services

* Search for the three drivers and delete the keys of any

* then again select the ec2-system under HKLM key

* on the file menu, select the command "Unload hive" and close Regedit

* Remove the VMDK mounted or detach the virtual disk target virtual machine "temporary".

Turn on the converted virtual computer

  • LCC on Amazon EC2

Is there a way to get the ACC to work on an Amazon EC2 instance? I would like to have video-to-peer chat, using EC2 as the service of communication protocol - or is there another method recommended deployment?

I think you're a bit confused on what low-COST Airlines is my friend - LCC are an all-in-one solution.  He takes care of the problem world conference with a minimal code, making Adobe all the heavy lifting.  FMS is not used at all - I don't think that it's even possible to use a combination of the companies to lower COSTS and FMS, because it would be useless - FMS has already integrated gogo handshake.  The only reason why you want to use FMS is because deploying your own FMS cluster long term can be cheaper than the low COST Airlines (but depending on what you intend to do, you'll probably write a lot more code to use FMS.)  LCC are a boon in this world because it costs nothing to deploy, is ridiculously simple and is always incredibly competitive.

If I understand correctly your problem (and I'm dealing with a similar one) is that you want to have a video conversation, but don't want to pay for bandwidth?  Unfortunately there is no such thing as a free lunch and you still have to pay the costs of bandwidth, but not much - LCC will take care of the handshake (which you have to pay for) If force you only by the peers, but then the video is free.  It's not necessarily smart, however, because:

    1. peer only doesn't always work because of the State of the network.

    2. you can't broadcast a video-to-peer session for many people (not sure when your use case is.)

    3. you can not record video sessions if you do this (pretty sure that's the case, necessary to double check.)

in any case, good luck - LCC is the bomb. If you try to minimize your costs, I just try to force all connections in single pairs and then pay for the guy when he doesn't.  The user experience is everything - users don't want to see that they are unable to use your service because of technical difficulties.

You cannot convert a Virtual Machine package (.vmwarevm) to a hard file.  Just ctrl + click on the target Virtual Machine package and select to display the contents of the package.  You then have access to the files that make up the virtual machine.

  • Unable to connect to the administration with FMS4 on Amazon EC2 console

I can start an instance of Flash Media Server 4 on Amazon EC2, using the public FRIEND of Adobe, and I am able to view the vod and live samples of media with no problems.

I can't SSH into the running instance, and I also bring to the top of the web page Admin Console for this instance in a browser. However I was not able to connect to the administration Console.

Before you try to connect to the administration Console, I modified /opt/adobe/fms/conf/fms.ini insert a username and password, and then I saved the modified file.

I've also updated my security group to add a custom TCP rule for open port 1111.

On the login page Admin Console fields, I kept the name of default server 1 server.

For the address of the server, I tried both localhost and also address public DNS my EC2 instance.

I used the username and password I put in fms.ini.

But I still can't connect to the administration Console.

    Help, please!

[I looked at old point http://forums.adobe.com/thread/678832 , related to this topic, but that has not helped to solve the problem.]

By default: Admin Server is not running on the EC2 instance. You must manually start after you have added the user name and password in fms.ini. I see that you have entered the user name and password - but I suppose you couldn't start Admin Server and therefore, you are not able to connect. Do step to start admin server on EC2 instance below

    PuTTY session you EC2 instance

    Go to/opt/adobe/fms

Run the terminal command >. / fmsmgr adminserver start

To make sure you please run: ps f | grep fmsadmin - this will let you know if admin process is running or not

I know that Amazon offers Oracle RDS with included license option but if I deploy the application without RDS, in an EC2 instance launched using an Oracle supplied FRIEND license comes with it?

The FRIEND I want to use is this one: https://AWS.Amazon.com/AMIS/Oracle-database-11g-release-2-11-2-0-1-Standard-Edition-one-64-bit

In a Word, I'm unclear as to if the Oracle supplied AMIS has a license. If they are not then why Oracle provide but if the license is included, then, why use RDS?

Amazon announces RDS Oracle 11.2.0.3 which seems to have Apex 4.2

I have a laptop HP running windows 8 32-bit! I don't know who it is! It started about a week after I got it! I kept getting bsod after updating. My brother recommended I have download ccleaner which got rid of bsod for about 2 months. I think that burning causing the bsod has some images of memory. Recently updated. I did not worth it to go back on my PC. Please can someone help me!

    Hey Mohindra3

Looks like you have a problem with persistent blue screens. It would help to know which model you have.

If you need help with this information, you can follow this link.

It would also be useful to know if you upgraded to Windows 8 32-bit.

Another step, you can try running a diagnostic test on your hard disk and RAM. Follow this link for steps on it.

Blue screens can sometimes be caused by damaged or incompatible drivers. The hard drive and RAM diagnostic tests will help refine the question though.

You could also provide with the minidump file that will give me a lot of information. You can navigate to C:\Windows\minidump. You will need to download the newest .dmp file to a third party site, (such as sendspace.com or filedump.com or another site like those) given that the HP forums do not allow this type of downloading files. Just to provide me with a link to the site whatever you choose so that I can take a look at the .dmp file.

I hope these steps help! I'll keep an eye out for your answer.

  • Error after conversion or the copy of the label

Not to mention that nodes of "cloned" property that disappears, seemingly solved in Labview 2012 (SP1), I have also a problem with the bewilderment of labels after conversions or copying.

The problem occurs at least in the following situation:

    1. There is a property of a control node.

    2. the control is defined in a 'Type Def'.

    3. a label is attached on the right of the property node.

    4. the location of the label in the 'Type' Def is different (top-left, for example).

    5. to create the bug or the source is converted (for example Labview 2011 2012 Labview) or the property node is copied between sources.

    6. the label of the node property converted/copied now has moved to the top, above the property node.

In Labview 2012 the solution for "cloned" property disappears nodes fixes also bug of bewilderment label for nodes of property.

Moving labels can be quite annoying when you have relatively compact code in of many multiple stacked sequences and event handlers.

    ---

I also had a separate problem with the location of the label once the font of labels is changed / converted, but have not yet checked if this still happens in 2012 of Labview.

  • BSOD after copying the large number of files from one disk to another

Hello. I hope you can help because this issue is very frustrating. Just built a new PC:

System can work very well for everyday, but when I copy large number of files from one disk to another (i.e. 70 000 files, 80 GB), shortly after (10 to 30 minutes), I get a BSOD bugcheck.

I ran MEMTEST86 for hours without error. I can run PRIME95 with max heat without error. And as I said, it seems to be fine until I do a copy of large files. It seems not to matter to this disc, I copy to/from. Start WIndows, I see no activity CHKDISK. Ideas?

2 clear your CMOS (or optimized load BIOS default) to ensure that there is no parameter incorrect BIOS - http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/tp/clearcmos.htm

  • BSOD after Logo Windows at startup: bad driver, AutoFailover

I get BSOD after Windows Logo at startup. Said Startup Repair: bad driver, AutoFailover.

Two weeks ago, that I was getting the same BSOD after logo, but only with the bad driver. I not did something to fix it (or Startup Repair), it's just dissapeard after a few days. Also, the last day that I was getting BSOD, the night when I started my pc, it remained 2 minutes at Intel Boot Agent initialization and also 30 seconds to the black screen that follows (before the windows logo). When this situation occurs I get more BSOD. I tried to restart my pc but I stayed another 2 minutes to the Intel Boot Agent initialization. This problem has been fixed in the next morning, when I started my PC, even once, I don't know how, I did nothing. I remember that it is sometimes used to stay 2 minutes Intel Boot Agent, even when I was on Windows Vista, and it also sets automatically.
I upgraded my BIOS a few weeks before getting the BSOD, but I don't think that's the problem. In addition, there was no new driver installed before getting the BSOD, drivers have been installed after the first BSOD (even if the event viewer and the reliability monitor do not mention the first BSOD, only those who have followed the installation of the driver I know there's a BSOD before, I'm sure.)

  • BSOD after updating August 2012

I have a few users know the random BSOD after installing updates to August 2012.  All updates installed normally and there are no errors.  Before that, all systems are stable.  These occurrences WORC appear at random (not started).  I reimagee machines, applied all updates and blue screens continue - maybe 3 or 4 per day.

-Product GuideIX.fm (Index) (Chapter 11) - book files dialing properties: Chapter 2 (digital)

Note: The chapter headings (e.g. 1 - Introduction, 2 - Specifications and so on) in the product GuideContent.fm and GuideIX.fm files are in the format paragraph Designer like: (the Auto-Numbering Format enabled) H: < n + > \t
However, when I update the book, the Index seems formatted as Chapter 1 instead of Chapter 11. It seems that the conversion to FM 12 messed autodial in the product file GuideIX.fm, so that the only way to increment the value would be to manually update the building blocks in the file to H: IX.fm \t H: < n + > < n = 11 > \t (which I do not). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you - Randall basin

    Hi Ran,

It's for anyone finding the subject, given that you and I come to chat with a screen sharing...

After watching your files, the "chapter number" are really only section numbers, with all 10 of them in the same file FM. That means that really impossible to use the <$chapnum>for many of them and the index.

In most cases, you would be still able to use the Fm 5.0 manually counting technique paragraphs title with an indicator of the series and the counter (e.g. H:), but you also have a number of positions within blocks of text not included in the stream.

This seems to be your address update index position correctly.

So, the only way to get the appropriate index number is to control it manually. You have at least 3 choices:

    1. Enter it manually
    2. Manually enter the AutoNumber box for the index
    3. Enter it manually in the numbering section of the dialing properties tab.

However, all these things are extra bandages on top of your existing bandages, and I prefer to see the problems resolved instead of the 3 'Hacks' I have provided.

For the sake of closure, please check the question if this seems to be specific for you.

Sorry for the bad news (ish)!

  • Converter to keep the primary Partitions after conversion.

    Hi all

So we just started to use the converter for P2V, its an impressive tool. I noticed that his change of level primary logical partitions to drives. Not a huge problem, but if I add space on the logical drive he immediately wants to convert it to a dynamic disk. Dynamic disks is something of normally, we don't use in our environment. I ran through by converter some times, is there something I'm missing? We took the latest version - I would add that this server physical I have set up to test the converter in our laboratory.

Before the conversion on the physical server.

    After conversion on VM.

    Thank you

    Javier

    Hi Javier,

Unfortunately, it is a long-standing problem in the converter, but it has never been highly prioritized in order to process and fixed. I guess the assumption was that "it doesn't hurt" to have logical partitions. This is the first time I've heard that there are real problems - additional free space at the end cannot be used unless that switching to dynamic disks. We must need to revisit this bug again and hiérarchisera as it accordingly.

As a solution, I would say you can resize volumes as part of the conversion process - you can add free space on each volume in the conversion wizard and would not need additional resizing after that. I know that's not a real problem, but it might be enough for your case.

    Kind regards

    Ivan

I can convert pdf to word format adobe acrobat, DC, but my version of word may not be correct because after conversion, fonts and lines are not correct in the original pdf document.  I'm currently using version 6.1 of windows 7 service pack 1 build 7601 Home Premium. Is it possible that I might have to upgrade my windows 7 in order to get good conversions of PDF files in word files?

No, it won't be linked to your version of Windows. Probably, you wait too long. Conversion cannot be perfect except for the files very easy.
