BSOD many times / day, power or video card may be related?

I have questions about my office (more old AMD CPU, 8800 GTS graphics card) where I get BSOD on occasion. Recently he received a lot worse, happening several times a day. Last night I got fed up with it, removed my graphics card and leave the computer for the night, which she did without errors (which was not possible in recent times). I have been doing a variety of error messages, even though the vast majority have been the mistake of Watchdog_Violation. I downloaded all my files minidump here, help to diagnose and resolve the problem would be great, thanks!

  • BSOD BugCheckCode 278 - on the third video card

My whole pc was often blocks. He started very slowly (a few days) and has increased to 7 times a day. He initially only happened while playing World of Warcraft and door to occur in other games.
I used to run 2 video cards with SLI - s 570 GTX. I have RMA had two cards. Currently only have 1 card (did not receive a new second again). Whenever I remove 1 card, I spend my nvidia Control Panel to disable SLI. Basically, I'm on my THIRD video card. I have installed this current one yesterday and within 4 hours of installation, crashed again.
When it crashes, sometimes the screen is a light green, sometimes a salmon color, sometimes we pink gray, shiny, sometimes that Rainbow and snow look.
I have dumps memory lit, but they do not save. My main drive containing windows is a Solid State Drive. I have all my video games on a second disc which is not an SSD and at one point I tried to have the memory dump record on the second drive and on my second drive, it wouldn't save. Since then, it will not save even to its default location.
Since he won't save memory dumps, I can't use the program WhoCrashed, however, in the past before dumps memory stopped to save, he always came as the Nvidia drivers which crashed.
All the drivers are up to date. I even tried to leave things to update the drivers beta, which made no difference. As far as I know, the power is strong enough to handle 2 cards, so much worse just 1.

At this point, I wonder what else can cause this problem. It's always the code 278. The research I did said it was a video card that has been the reason why I have RMA had two cards. EVGA seems to agree. What is my motherboard? Would be - this cable?
Really at a loss here.  Initially, I posted this a day or 2 ago on other technical support forums and have not yet seen one yet, so I'll try here.  At this point, it often crashes once again.
    Thanks, hoping someone can help!

  • Dimension E510: Power supply, video cards and fans...

    Howdy Dell Community!

About 2 years ago I bought a Dell Dimension E510 desktop to game and machinima. It has served me pretty well until about a week ago lightning hit a tree outside my window while I tried to shut down my system. The storm came pretty quick and I didn't know that it was there only a rumble of Thunder, so I started to stop, but it was too late: smileysad:. The motherboard was virtually unusable. I took it to a local computer repair shop and the machine lights up and works just fine except for the card NETWORK does not work on the map AND if you did a RAM test that it would fail, but not one stick of RAM could be found with a problem. They ordered a replacement for my Dell motherboard.

So I was thinking the other day, 'now would be a great time to make updates!". I put a 250 GB Seagate Barracuda HARD drive to replace the old 80 GB Hitachi. I also thought to improve cooling, the power supply and the video card. I have a lot of questions so here Let's go!

    (1) can I replace the fan inside the shrowd of cpu with a spare fan fan, and if so what are the dimensions of the fan?

    (2) can / should I strap in a 80 mm fan / 120 mm at the rear of the case to increase the flow of air from the case?

    (3) I heard that put a spare PSU is FRY your motherboard. I don't want that, but Dell doesn't provide upgrades of power supply (isn't that Nice of them?). A power PC Power & Cooling 500W Dell will work with the motherboard and the case?

    (4) after installing a new power supply, something like an ATI Radeon HD 3870 would work well? (compatibility with the motherboard)

    (5) I read something about being owner or something in this sense (like my e510) Dell systems. What is c?

Well, that's all for now. I hope that there will can help me!
    Thanks for your time.

  • Compaq Presario 2034NX. N power supply video card update

I have a Compaq Presario 2034NX and want to get an upgrade of the installed video card (for a HDMI output, etc.).  I know that I have to spend my diet as well, for new power requirements.

I am interested in (after-sales) part 3 parts, not "genuine HP/Compaq", to save costs on this box of 7 year and longer.

    (A) what version of PCI-Express is the slot on the MBoard?

    (B) what form of power factor should be purchased for?  ATX?  12V?

    (C) is there a special condition of type MOE for video work in Compaq Presario PCI-Express slot card, or will more 3rd party (after-sales) cards work?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Is the Compaq Presario PC?  If Yes, then put a standard size ATX power supply will work as well as several video cards PCI-E x 16.

Most of NVIDIA video cards require a minimum of a 300 Watt power supply.  Most of ATI video cards require a power supply of + 400 watt mimium.

1 HP didn't post the version of PCI-E slot, but I suspect 1.x. It should support most of the cards PCI-E 2.0 with a few exceptions.

    2. a stand size ATX power supply will fit (5.5x3.4x5.9).

    3. the video card chosen must be associated with a power supply to support its power requirements.

How much budget do you see for the video card and the power suppy.  You have special requirements of video connection? (HDMI, DVI, VGA)  What applications are you planning to use with the new video card?

Open your PC and a few measurement in parallel with the PCI-E x 16 slot to see how long of a video card will fit. The adjacent slot on the PCI-E x 16 slot must be vacant if a larger video card is being considered. Look at the motherboard, and ensures that the components on the motherboard will not interfere with the installation of the video card.

  • Power and video card

I have a HPE-477 BC and had a chat with technical support session where I was told that the best solution for my model would be to upgrade my PSU 460w and update my videocard to a radeon 4650. This card seems kind of old for me, and I was wondering if my system could handle something like a radeon 5770 if I set to the power supply.  Or is the 4650 really better?

    Thank you

    WoWnut,

    The differences are here:http://www.hwcompare.com/1176/radeon-hd-4650-1gb-vs-radeon-hd-5770/

The HD5770 is clearly a better card, but it does not. http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814121363

  • Problem upgrading to a6120n PCI-e video card

I have a HP Pavilion a6120n desktop with Vista 32 bit fully implemented to date.  I bought a Diamond Radeon HD5450 graphics card.  Based on the advice of their manufacturer, I replaced the power supply original 250w with a Rhino Panther 450w power supply.  System works very well with the VGA display, attached to the integrated graphics card.  According to the instructions with the card, I disable the onboard in Device Manager.  I have install the Board in slot PCI-e x 16 one.  I turn on and monitor is black when it is connected to the VGA card port.  Just to check, return the monitor to the integrated VGA connector and the monitor is black. After removing the new graphics card, onboard VGA works fine. I have installed/uninstalled several times making sure card is sitting, the cable is secure, etc..  The card provider said to go into the BIOS and set the main video card in the PCI-e.  I can't do because PCI - e is not one of the options.  HP site does not display updates to the original BIOS which is version 5.18 08/05/2007.  I don't have another computer equipped with PCI-e slot to test the card.  Card was in the sealed box is probably functional.  Card gets power because the heat sink heats up a little after a few minutes. This card has no fan or separate power connector.  HP product specifications say that this model can support a PCI-e graphics card.  I am stuck and frustrated.

Why the menu in the BIOS Setup does not show a PCI-e option when the Council supports that?

    .. Paul...

    Hi Paul,.

Try clear the CMOS.  When you boot, the bios should automatically switch on the PCI-E x 16 for video slot where the card is recognized.

The 450w PSU Rhino Panther has 20 amps on the bus + 12 volts.  A Corsair CX430 has 28 amps on the bus + 12 volts. but then it costs more.  The HD 5450 is a fairly low power Board so the power supply should be OK.  You can compare the amperage of your old power supply v + 12 with the new PSU.

I've seen some posts here where video RADEON 5xxx cards were not recognized in the old HP PC.  Essentially a problem of compatibility.  The video card may be bad, or you have one of the old HP PC that does not like video cards Radeon 5xxx.

NVIDIA cards seem to have better compatibility will be former HP PC.  This NVIDIA GT 520 is probably comparable to the Radeon 5450.

  • Graphic/video card upgrade

I have a Compaq Presario 5570F desktop computer.  I would like to improve my graphics all in game.  Do you have any suggestions?  Specifically, I play world of Warcraft and the FPS is very low.

    Susan,

Power 250 watt with 14 amps on the 12 + vot bus won't be big enough for a decent video card. A 500 Watt power supply should be big enough to power most video cards.

How to replace a power supply.

How to replace a video card.

You need to open your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your diet.  Here is a list of the things to consider:

    1. Specifications
    2. Total power - important
    3. amperage 12 + v - important
    4. Modular - is not required, but I like the flexibility
    5. Warranty
    6. I7 and SLI ready
    7. Efficiency rating
    8. Cost
    9. The physical size - standard ATX PSU is 5.5 "by 5.9" by 3.4 "give or take a few tenths

www.Newegg.com has many choices of power supplies.  Corsair, OCZ, Rosewill, Thermaltake...

  • Upgrading my video card

Good then I want to update my video card in my current one... don't know exactly how I would have this approach. I don't want to just go and ask retailers initially that they could sell me something that is overpriced and not that great. Don't know what type of video card I want, but I will provide a few details end my computer and we can go from there.
    I have an AMD athlon II 2 250 processor processor - 2 X ~ 3.0 GHz
    Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
    NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
    Integrated RAMDAC
Memory total approx. - 1912 GB
    Realtek HD audio
Here is my card to my motherboard/Bios card:
    -CHIPSET AMD 1200 rev 0
    Card mother name: HP-Pavilion
    Motherboard model: AY014AA-ABL a4310f
    BIOS size: 1048576
    Name: Hewlett-Packard
    RAM - 4, 00 GB
    power supply 250W

Don't know what else I would need to provide before I can even go ahead and think about buying a video card. Oh, I'm willing to spend more than $ 150 too if I need too. 200 would be to much but if I mean play Crysis (which is an old game now lol) and the only way I can is with a $ 200 card so that I don't really have a choice, I guess. I was trying to play the Chronicles of riddick and I saw my system not handling not really the game that well and it's an old game now that made me think I would def need a new video card.

If you want more plug on my office heres the link

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01949097

If you're a gamer?  Crysis is a cpu eater. However, a better video would be really useful, but to support a better video card will require a replacement of power supply.  Max 600 watts should be plenty.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

How to replace a power supply.

How to replace a video card.

www.Newegg.com has a lot of power and video card blocks.  Choose a modular power supply with a performance rating of 80 + or higher. Try to find one that has the same physical dimensions as your current diet. Then do a measure to the inside of your PC around 16 x PCI-E slotso that you know what size card have to be considered.

  • long beeps after installing the video card

    Hello

    I recently bought a HP 500-223w.

I wanted to install a power supply a video card.

Here's the problem: everything works fine without the installed video card.

If I install the video card then at startup it gives me a series of long beeps.

I turned it off after the long fourth beep assuming they would UST go on and on.

The power supply is more than enough to power the video card.

The video card should not be bad, because I just moved it from another system. (system currently does not, bad mobo)

I was wondering what the infinite long beep on startup?

    Thanks and regards, TJames.

    Hello:

Product for your PC specifications indicate that it comes with Windows 8.1.

To install a video card no HP on PC shipped with Windows 8 or 8.1, you must change both settings of the BIOS before installing the card.

Please see this document for the BIOS to change settings...

Always perform a clean installation. The old drivers of your video card may corrupt the new drivers for your new video card. No matter if they have the same chip maker or not.

Many of these inexpensive graphics cards for Newegg.com should work with Windows 10. Just watch for those who require a 300 watt power supply system or less.
