BSOD on wake

I have a laptop Compaq Presario CQ70 running Vista Home Basic. Sometimes when he wakes screen saver / sleep, it produces a BSOD that disappears after a few seconds, and then the computer restarts. I don't have enough time to copy the BSOD error code before it restarts. The error message will be logged anywhere? How can I find? Thank you.

Hello

Look in the Event Viewer to see if something is reported on those.

    Hello

I went through your minidump files and I see that you get and Stop error 0x0000007E SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED and this could cause due to a timeout problem in the GPU. This causes a reset which let the GPU in an inconsistent state.

I suggest you follow the methods provided for in the given article.

Method 1: Put the computer in a clean boot state to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • T450s startup takes 35 seconds before displaying the splash screen. (wake up 11sec)

    The following are my problems:

    1. when starting the machine, it takes about 35 seconds before the first activity screen (screen of Lenovo). After that, it starts normal.
    2. when waking off mode 'sleep', it takes 11 seconds before I see directed power stop to 'breathe' and wake up the screen.

It feels like it is a hardware/bios on the issue, as (so far I know) hdd/ssd is accessible only after the bios has loaded and completed its audits of material. When you paste into a bootable usb it starts only flicker after the bios was loaded on the screen.

    Question:
Anyone have an idea why my laptop waiting so long to start or wake? I don't mind wait a bit, but in 35 seconds + startup time normal is really boring. Especially with the fact that the laptop shows no sign of life for 35 seconds after ignition briefly the backlight on the keyboard. Alarm delay is also very annoying since even my 7 year old laptop BSOD to wake up faster, and I use a lot "sleep" mode.

    Some origins I think about:
-Verification of the material during the initial start-up of equipment does not yet recognize a dedicated GPU card. (POST: Power On Self Test)
-I don't think it's a problem with my software because the problems occurs before any media playback.

    I already tried things:
    -Reset the bios.
    -Start in legacy mode.
    -Update the bios
-rebuild MBR (although I think that's the problem.)
(- Refreshing installation of windows, even if I do not expect that's the problem.)

This problem was already at the beginning (with origenal material):
From the first time I started the laptop (with HARD drive), I noticed that it took a long time to start. I remember repeatedly pressing the button ON / OFF and think I did something wrong, when all of a sudden the 'Lenovo' screen appears.

I hope someone can help me!

    My problems were solved!

An engineer contacted me that they received a mainboard replacement and they wanted to make an appointment. I gave them the address where I worked the next day because I'm very mobile, and an engineer came by the next day. It appeared to be a qualified IBM engineer and test my machine and came to the same conclusion as me. He then did some tests to see if the problem was caused by something else, then the motherboard but eventually replace my motherboard with good care.

After the replacement of the startup time and wake up was normal as it should be. I'm very happy with the service that Lenovo ThinkPad gave me.

I have to add that when I called for the support that I got someone on the line who couldn't really understand me, neighter, Dutch or English. But it was also duo a bad connection, it seemed to me... But after that call I really didn't expect that it would come to a good end. I then really suppriced isn't 5 days later a Dutch engineer Chief called me for an appointment.

  • BSOD in Windows 8 atikmpag.sys

I have problems BSOD mainly focussed on the atikmpag.sys (see the first 3 reports WhoCrashed) and was hoping someone could help out. More recently, I got the BSOD who wakes from sleep. I have four monitors and a number of applications (for example, various office products, several tabs in Chrome), but nothing that the computer should not be able to process (see below). I have read a number of discussions on this issue and that you have not found a solution: it seems that there are many possible causes.
Full .dmp file is available at https://www.dropbox.com/s/k10qxgei0x6tr07/MEMORY.zip for the most recent BSOD. All 4 .dmp minidump files are available at https://www.dropbox.com/s/h5yncexruz3q3ha/Minidump%20Files.zip.
It is a personalized desktop build.
    -CPU: i7 - 4770K
    -MB: ASUS Z87 - Pro
    -Memory: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance
-Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB SSD
-Video card: ASUS DirectCU II 28nm HD7970-DC2-3GD5 graphics card
    -Power supply: Corsair AX 850
    Other relevant information:
-Problem seems related to the graphics card. The 7970 has 1 DVI and DisplayPort 3 link / DVI links in total 4 monitors.
    -No overclocking of any kind.
-The pilots I know are up to date (for example, graphics drivers, have not installed the drivers from "non-essential" for example for the wireless network adapter). It is possible that the absence of these drivers 'non-essential' is what causes the problem.
-All Windows updates have been installed.
-J' did Memtest86 + on each stick of RAM o/n and found no problem.
-J' reinstalled OS using reset to Windows 8.
-Temperature of the GPU seems OK (~ 55 degrees C), and the fans seem to be working.
-J' I just disabled when using Chrome hardware acceleration, as I read somewhere else that it can be problematic.
-I have not stressed/benchmarked beyond Memtest86 + but can do going forward.
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

The accident took place in the Windows kernel. Maybe this problem is caused by another driver who cannot be identified at this time.

I tried the update driver ATI Mobility HD 4300/4500 Windows 8.1 from amd.com but returned crashes. The graphics hardware is old (1/2009) then I disabled the driver from AMD and graphics card uses at least fonts but same resolution with the standard graphics driver not one built for the hardware that is causing all the problems.

The flicker of the graphics before the accident, said the card cannot handle the high rate of resolution or refresh in the driver crashing in my opinion. This has been ongoing for about 2 or 3 weeks. It's like the laptop is dying. He is 5 years old.

Try to disable the card manufacturer video driver that is causing problems and live with less fancy accident-free driver from Microsoft.

I'm not very well if the BSOD is caused by the graphics driver compatibility issue but in general the driver of Toshiba page should not cause BSOD m
Anyway, there are a few 3rd party pages where you can download updated drivers the: laptopvideo2go.com or omegadrivers.net

Another tip: I've read that some people could solve the BSOD problems by changing the resolution of the screen and disabling the Aero theme try this out... you may notice some improvements

  • BSOD wake from sleep

Whenever I wake up my computer, I get a BSOD saying that a REVIEW PROCESS is DEAD. I was wondering why this is happening. Windows 7, I have had absolutely no problem. So far, Windows 8 is a nightmare on all my computers.

There are 'devices problem"appearing in msinfo32 that seem to be Intel devices.

These devices should also be displayed in Device Manager "problems."

Can you run the utility from Intel and see if she picks up updates. I don't know if this utility works in Windows 8:

    http://www.Intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect

He there may errors 'disc' in the event viewer that we hope can be resolved by updating the storage drivers.

Also, there was a repetitive error in Event Viewer involving the MSR.

I would say to uninstall the application that has installed the driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys, maybe it is Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%.

Then, uninstall the c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys - see "How can I remove driver SPTD on 64-bit operating system?" in the following link:

  • Satellite X 200-wake affter BSOD upward from the previous day

    Hello

In recent months, I have a problem with my laptop.
It works just great, until I got close the lid and put on laptop in standby mode.

After his return to stand-by and after working on it, it hangs on blue screen.
I tried to reinstall Vista bud he didn t help.

I have these accidents almost every day and I lose all the work when it crashes, which is very annoying.

No idea how to solve this problem?

    Thank you
    Marko

    Hello Marko

It is not easy to say what may be the problem but I do not think that this is Toshiba. The fact is that the image recovery and all functionality with the factory settings is tested and everything it works fine.
The question is what applications you have installed after the installation of Vista. Maybe some of them want to be turned off and after that awakening is simply confused and result BSOD.

Can you please tell me one thing: have you tested own sleep with preinstalled OS without additional software installed?

  • HP Pavilion 1d45dx g6: Pavilion G6: error BSOD in Windows 10

Once I upgraded my laptop 10 (64-bit) Windows whenever I would put my laptop to sleep or close the lid and come back, she would but immediately frozen and he would not answer. After a few seconds a blue screen of death with a frowny face would jump to the top. It usually gives me the error code: UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION

Then when I'd start my laptop to be out some time, it will give me a BSOD right at the beginning and it would have a CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED error code

Is anyway to fix this? I am very fun that may have windows 10 on my laptop. Given the amount of BSOD I had, I went back to Windows 7 until a solution can be found.

Sidenote: I also had a similar problem with windows 8, he did exactly the same thing, just like Windows 10. He gave me a different error code: KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR.  I went back to Windows 7 on this situation as well.

Any help to solve this would be awesome! Thanks in advance.

    This is a big update!

I managed to get my old G6-1c43nr works well on Windows 10 using this meathod! (Please note that not all of the G6 can use this meathod and you must proceed at your own discression!)

    Measures to address this error:

    1. download BIOS revision F.46 (probably you have F.48 or F.49) if available for your laptop (go to Windows 7 drivers > BIOS > Previous Versions).

    2. install the older BIOS

3 after installing the old BIOS, your laptop most likely does not completely start, he should give a BSOD and reboot, let him do this twice and the third time, should it try to perform a repair of starting WHAT IT WILL (AND SHOULD) FAIL!

    4. after the start of the repair fails, click on 'Advanced Options '.

    5. click on help > advanced options > start parameters

    6. click on restart

    7. When you see the boot settings screen, press '4' on your keyboard

    8. you will then start in safe mode, do not connect to your computer when it is presented with the login screen, simply press Power > restart

    9. you should be able to start completely Windows now

    10. put the computer to sleep and then wake it up, it should now fully work!

The problem was that the most recent BIOS breaks the way Windows 8/10 read the configuration of SATA and decommissioning of the BIOS fix it.

    Enjoy!

  • Satellite L30 - frequent BSoD after upgrade of RAM.

This problem is almost identical to [this post | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=144540𣒜], but given that the response was too general and did not help, I want to provide more details about my problem and hope for a better answer.

My L35 (i.e. American L30) came with Vista Home Basic and only 512M of RAM. It was slow, but smooth otherwise. The problems started after I upgraded the RAM to 2 GB occasionally a BSoD will appear, and the computer restarts after a second or two.
Most of the time, instances of BSoD are not taken at random; usually, it happens when you watch a film or multimedia and online during the wake her up after suspend.
Also, it happens much more frequently if an external monitor is attached. He does, connect an external monitor and watch a movie will result in BSoD with 100% certainty. My laptop has shared video memory, maybe it's a question here.

The problem prevailed after that I installed Windows 7.
Memtest86 + showed no problems with my memory
Memtest86 covers all aspects of the use of the RAM?

Is it possible that some problems may be overlooked by memtest86?
Are there other tests of memory, that I could use, specifically to test the shared video memory?

Not every hardware problem can be detected software.
You have tested the RAM with Memtest86 +? Try using Memtest86 (no +).

In the worst case, you must replace the RAM. Ask the dealer for a new computer. I m sure they will help you.

  • BSOD KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED on developers preview WIndows

    Original title: BSOD KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
    Hello world.

I have a problem with my copy of Windows Developer Preview.
I get about 3 - 4 times on the day a Blue Screen Of Death with "BSOD KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" whenever I wake the computer from sleep mode. It happened when I randomly wake press a key on my keyboard. I didn't try to wake up the power button, but I think that the problem is not resolved in this way.
    What should I do?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello

As the question is about an excerpt from Windows developers, I would say that you post the question on the link provided below for assistance.

  • Predator 17 BSOD repeatedly (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL)

    Hello

I predator about mi 17 Dec 15 and BSOD occurred to me several times (say more than 10 times)

I hope that this community might be able to help me all the chances.

    Here are the details.

    BSOD: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    Occurrence:

Often - Wake up sleep windows

    Sometimes - Windows startup

    Minidump: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9NHyHvhm0kTMG1YYjdXSjd1WE0/view?usp=sharing

Hello, I had the same BSOD with IRQ less than or equal. I think it's a matter of this Killer networking blabla. I got the blue screen for eg. When you install the latest version of VirtualBox. Disable the 2 NICs (Lan and Wlan) I would like to install it and after the installation I activate these adapters again and it works. Hopefully, Acer will come out a better Bios for a better management of the IRQ and will current SSDs. Bravo steve

  • eSATA - No. Hotswap - connected disks go to sleep - BSOD

    Hello Forum,

    I have a 700 HP Envy nine-215xt, under Windows 7 Home Premium.

I bought an eSATA bracket so I can hotswap two external drives.  DISC 1 is a 1 TB SAMSUNG drive in an envelope by Acomdata.  DISC 2 is a portable 250 GB Hitachi drive in a simple box without a name.

    PROBLEM #1

Both drives are fine under Windows if they are attached and powered on before starting the system.  Neither readers appear at all when turned on when the computer is already started.  Go into Device Manager and selecting ' scan for changes material does nothing.»  The only way to put the reader available to the OS is to restart the computer.  It's very disappointing.  I thought eSATA was supposed to be hotswappable.

Given that both drives worked exactly as expected on my Win XP machine, I suspect it has to do with the motherboard or BIOS settings.  Please help me to get this function to work.

    PROBLEM #2

Even when discs are recognized by the operating system, after a few minutes of inactivity, the drive SAMSUNG "goes to sleep".  I can actually hear it turn down.  When I try and access the files by the bias of the Explorer or any other application, I hear the disc upward rotation and I have to wait on the order of 15 to 20 seconds for the player to wake up to the top.

I even got a few BSODS, especially when I try to shut down the computer, while the Samsung drive is asleep.  I have to do something to wake up the drive before I can close.

Where are the settings for me turn off this behavior annoying?

    Thanks for your help,

    -Steve

eSATA on the HP PC depends on what sound plugged in.

If you have an external PCIe card, this will be hotswap card permitting. There is nothing in the motherboard to stop this, its external controller and will work as such.

If your external esata card is simply a port with a cable going to one of your sata ports, then you will need to have it's going to a labeled esata port on the motherboard or a sata port that allows you to select internal or external in the bios.

Not all HP is very forgiving in this regard. I have an Elite 8200 CMT at work and who has an esata port. We have an external caddy inside with two bays, but we can only use a given the limitations of this Council. And ports sata on this forum cannot be selected as external.
