This seems to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
The accident took place in the Windows kernel. Maybe this problem is caused by another driver who cannot be identified at this time.
I tried the update driver ATI Mobility HD 4300/4500 Windows 8.1 from amd.com but returned crashes. The graphics hardware is old (1/2009) then I disabled the driver from AMD and graphics card uses at least fonts but same resolution with the standard graphics driver not one built for the hardware that is causing all the problems.
The flicker of the graphics before the accident, said the card cannot handle the high rate of resolution or refresh in the driver crashing in my opinion. This has been ongoing for about 2 or 3 weeks. It's like the laptop is dying. He is 5 years old.
Try to disable the card manufacturer video driver that is causing problems and live with less fancy accident-free driver from Microsoft.

BSOD Atikmpag.sys Elitebook 8560w ati m5950
Hi all
I have problems with my Elitebook 8560w. I get the BSOD on startup all the time, when the login screen appears in windows 7. (atikmpag.sys)
I have tried several things but I can't solve it, the laptop cannot start up if I use the standard vga driver.
Things I've tried:
Fresh install Windows 7 x 64, Windows 7 x 86, Windows XP x 64, Windows XP x 86
Tried all versions of BIOS
Tried all versions of drivers for video card, both HP and Ati with fres installs Windows.
It's getting boring, please help me.
Where can I get the latest version of the video Bios for my m5950? Who can solve my problem.
Hello hlaca20. I understand that you have a problem with the blue screens that often occur during startup. Is this correct?
You've tried quite a few steps to solve the problem. I think that the combination of the BIOS update, fresh install multiple operating systems and fresh drivers excluded the majority of software problems. Have you tried to test your equipment?
If you have not deleted the partition of HP_Tools you can use the built-in tools that provides HP. You should test your memory and the hard disk to determine whether there are problems.
This document describes how to run the hard drive test. Simply repeat the steps in selection of memory the second time to test the RAM.
I'm waiting for your answer; have a great day!

Satellite L70-B-12 t - BSOD, atikmpag.sys everything at stake
Whenever I try to play a game amd driver crashes or I get bsoded (atikmpag.sys).
Some days he arrives just after I start the laptop and other computer after several hours of use or one or two hours of play.I tried everything on x 64 (OEM) home win8 and win 7 pro x 64.
All included:
-Updated graphics drivers Intel (auto-updater invited me to use toshibas pilot)
-Used Toshibas drivers.
-Used pilots later and beta AMD.-All Windows and the graphics card settings are on performance.
Disabled - all energy saving relevant options I could find.
-Tried several times, extraction - replace manually, to solve atikmpag bsod without change. I get this error message 1 x per day minimum.
The games I tried, and make the bad are:
-Sniper Elite 3 (driver crashes and recover successfully)
-Archage (each graphic parameter is at least and I keep crashing, bsoding my permit hang right after that I connect to the game)
-Tera: here I can actually log on settings low (+ lotsa .ini tweaking) but I get randomly driver hang of the thing even once and the rare bsod.
And these are the only games I've tried on this laptop so farNormal computer 3DMark test: Bsod when generates the report.
3DMark mid range gaming pc test: driver hangs on the 1st video and never recovers.
Plan to run another Tester stress but also that i'm definatelly of ideas on how to keep this troubleshooting. Thanks in advance!
For me, it looks like a RAM problem as did mistake place in different situations at different times.
So it could be a LITTLE unstable in memory / RAM.
Download memtest86 and let pass the test for a longer period. Most of the problems a RAM / errors will be caught in the 1st run, some on the 2nd or 3rd. -

Hello
I can't find exact laptop specifications and don t know what version of Win7 you have with your machine, but I can't imagine that you have such problems after the original recovery image installation.
Original recovery image contains drivers tested for your machine.Sorry, but I must ask you once more: you may have noticed this problem even if you have installed the original recovery image that you got with your machine?

Satellite L650 1LN - BSOD, atikmpag.sys error
Hello
I'm from Italy,
I have a problem with my laptop (operating system, WINDOWS 7).After a while I use the laptop, I get an error: the AMD display driver has stopped working and has been restored.
Shortly after this awful blue screen appears with the error "atikmpag.sys."I tried to restore my laptop, but I still have the same error.
I also tried to install the updated drivers Catalyst, but I install it on my laptop. How can I fix it?
You have a guide to follow step by step?Thank you all! Alex.
Hello
The error message indicates a problem with the chip of the graphics card or graphics card driver.
BSOD may occur if the graphic temperature would be too high, it might lead to chart falls down and BSOD.I think you should follow the advice of s Ilay and should reinstall or update the graphics driver.
The old driver must be removed before you begin the new installation.
In case this does not improve the functionality, I recommend you to perform a complete system recovery.Hope that this would finally solve the problems.

Well, this is going to be long and stretched, so I will start with my sincere apologies.
Description of the problem:
I rebuilt my entire machine a few months previously, after purchasing a TechNet Plus subscription new video card ATI Radeon 5870 2 GB and new AMD PhenomII X 4 965 CPU. Quickly, I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 and started to load all the drivers and applications. Then the problems started. I want to play WoW would freeze the game, the screen would be gray, then black, then the fan on the video card could turn 100% gas (video driver Windows in vacuum), then about 60 to 90 seconds later, I'd get a BSOD with either atikmdag.sys or lately, it's been atikmpag.sys. Windows 8 BSOD conflict resource with parport.sys
We have helped our clients in their transitions from older systems on Windows 7/8, specifically to ensure that some legacy applications will work properly on the new systems. Some of these applications require the dongles for software protection that use parallel ports with DB-25 connectors. We have been able to make applications for work in systems of Windows 7 by installing a PCI or PCIe parallel port card, but can't make it work on Windows 8.x systems:
- The parallel card works fine on Windows 7 systems. We have the enforcement (DS1410D.sys) device driver and the driver of parallel port of the supplied system (parport.sys) loaded with the LPT1 printer port and the functions of the application as expected value.
- Same configuration would cause BSOD on Windows 8, due to the REFERENCE_BY_POINTER error.
- 8.x Windows would start if the printer port is set to something other than LPT1. However the application device driver would then not be able to detect the dongle.
- The only difference between Windows 7 and Windows 8 is the parallel port driver. Parport.sys file version is 6.1.7600.16385 for Windows 7 and is 6.3.9600.16384 for Windows 8.
It seems that Microsoft changed something in its parallel port driver that triggered the conflict of resources. Everyone knows the same problem? Anyway to get around the problem?
All Vijay suggests is that the contributors there are more experienced in handling the type of problem you are having, if after your query here.

Uşaklar and again Atikmpag.sys bsod crash after and after and after
It all started in a Sun and a nice day I turned my G62-b13ST and after some time it crashed and I googled and I saw that the driver Sweeper and downloading might be a solution I thought. After I've deleted and updated the driver, he arrived after and after and this situation atikmpag.sys and finally ended up here im desperate and hopeless.
I tried the solutions in the internet and ask you what to do?
Hi DEVO61,
Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your laptop HP G62-b13ST and constant crashing. Try perform a reset. When you perform a hard reset note remove all USB devices and remove cards memory card reader location. Disconnect all non-essential devices. If that doesn't help try to turn on the computer, on which you begin to press F11 repeatedly until the menu opens. You can do a System Restore.
Here is a link to a Update for the BIOS. If this does not help, try tapping F10 key go to the diagnosis and then run the hard drive & memory test when a test fails, you will need to replace the part. Please also check if the device is more heating.
Please let me know how it goes.
Thank you.

Tecra R840 - atikmpag.sys causes bluescreen
Hello
displaying videos on my Tecra R840 sometimes I get a blue screen with the atikmpag.sys driver.
Happens to every time, but often - about one in four times or more.
The blue screen occurs especially at the beginning of the video - but sometimes also in the end.
In the download for my Tecra area, there is only one pilot display of 2012 - I have installed.
I have Windows 7 64 bit, 8 GB of RAM and the AMD Radeon HD 6450 M.
Does anyone have a tip for me?
Thank you very much in advance
Anne
Hello
Because this problem does not always, but sometimes, it would be very difficult to reproduce this BSOD and therefore, it is not very easy to say why the BSOD appears.
Is that file atikmpag.sys belongs to the graphics card driver.
It seems that the graphics card driver crashes, and therefore the BSOD occurs.
But why?I have two different theories:
(1) the graphics driver is not fully compatible with the new software installed, tools (games), etc., but the fact is that the Toshiba driver page does not provide all new GPU drivers for this model of laptop. The other point is that the same driver version worked correctly in the past and I m wondering why the same driver should not operate correctly now if it worked correctly in the past.(2) my 2nd theory is that the BSOD appears due to the higher temperature of the internal GPU. The highest temperature is mainly a reason for blockages of the system and also responsible for issues of the graphics card.
Have you tried to reinstall/recover the system? Isn't it?
I would recommend you do this using the Toshiba recovery disc. This procedure should always be made in the event of system problems.I also recommend you to clean the modules of cooling using a jet of compressed air. That would help you get rid of the dust. Dust is mainly a reason if it comes to a temperature higher inside the laptop.

Blue Screen Atikmpag.sys 0 x 116 Win7 Ultimate X 64
Hey all,.
OK, so after a few weeks of troubleshooting and no chance of finding a solution, I thought I'll try to ask someone for help.I get the BSOD atikmpag.sys 0 x 116. It started a week after I installed my ATi video card 7970 replace my 5970 who died. The only problem is that sometimes prob once per day to the maximum, or approximately every 8-12 hours. No matter if I play a game or the computer is sitting idle doing nothing. When he wants it just crash it.The system ran without a hiccup since 18-19 months so far. Here is my cardASUS P7P55D-E Premium MotherboardIntel i7 870 OC @ 4 GHzITS ATi 7970Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875w PSU8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 (KHX2000C9AD3T1K2/4GX)1 HARD WD Green of TB driveSB Fatality Pro Sound CardBR Samsung driveHere's what I tried to do so far to solve the problemDrivers - Cleansweep. Tried to use CCC 12.3 and 12.4 (no other don't support my card) has also tried the drivers from the manufacturer's CD-Ran Mem test and chkdsk no abnormalities not detected-Replace all the Ram, nothing has changed-Reset all the bios to the factory settings and no change-MB update for the latest version of the Bios-Replace the video card without change. (Also tested the 7970 in another machine with the same card and no crash no more)-Bought a processor intel SSD 520 series 120 GB and installed a new copy of windows. (12 hours later I installed Skype and got the blue screen during the installation. Ran it again all right)Because of the time between BSOD, it has been difficult to quickly diagnose what worked and what did not. If it isn't a major issue in most cases, since I still have the function of pc for most of the time, it would be nice if it didn't happen at all.Really, I guess I'm down to replace the motherboard as a final solution that I really don't want to do this now because I don't have a spare part which means I have to go buy a new one and always have the risk that it cannot be the issue. The only other thing I can think is that it is just driver related and I have to wait and hope that maybe ATi next version fix the issue of CCCSomeone at - it ideas?Thank youDominikHey TorrentG,
After this first dump file, I had updated all my drivers on a new install of win7PCTools was my anti-virus software. I only installed the drivers for all my devices and no extra software on my new install of windows and it was still giving me the BSOD.After replacing almost all of my material, I was always getting the same question.Tried the beta version of 12.6 and not a crash since. Machine worked 24/7 for 12 days per incident. Thanks for taking a peek anyway.DOM -
[IMG] http://i68.Tinypic.com/zya8mb.jpg [line]
[IMG] http://I66.Tinypic.com/sfb2uq.jpg [line]
My computer runs Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 7 64 bit in a dual boot, my laptop has a 6470 M graphic ATI card.
I was running a game in Windows 10 when 'glitches' started occurring on the screen, the blue strips on the screen vertical lines. Then I tried to check for the latest drivers, I already had the latest, but tried to install the Beta Edition Crimson.
Questions seem to get worse, windows would start well, but by practicing a game the screen would suddenly get these strange blue strips, and when the screen is black the whole screen is filled with blue dots.
I left the laptop running for awhile, and when I came back to it, the screen was out of order so I restarted.
Blue stripes appear now already during the welcome of the hp bios screen before the OS has been loaded. What, I'm unable to connect to Windows 10 in normal mode, as he complains of a "FAILURE of TDI VIDEO (atikmpag.sys)" error and stops at blue screen. ""
I am able to log in window s10 in safe modeand when it is connected to an external display by VGA adapter, but there are always strange objects and strips of blue lines. The same blue lines appear in windows 7, also I am here only able to log on in safe mode.
In my haste to fix this with a driver issue, I'm also currently not able to uninstall the driver thanks to the "add or remove programs" in windows 10, maybe I should have uninstalled the other driver first. The uninstall program gives an error message, I think it's "initialization error" or something similar (I can check when I get home)
I tried to update the bios of F.22 to F.61 too, but there is nothing.
My theory is that the ATI card actually suffered a severe hardware malfunciton, as the seeds of graphs already occur before the operating system is loaded, in the screen/HP logo screen bios welcom immediately after startup. I can't realistically replace the ATI card, so I'm afraid that the laptop is now brick. As the laptop is an I5 2520, I guess it's a HD3000 Intel integrated graphics card, but I've never seen this map in "Device Manager", it's in my mind, maybe the last option I have, can I just bypass the ATI card and use the other onboard graphics, that would be acceptable to me.
I would be eternally grateful if anyone has any suggestions for me.
If you see the lines on the screen when it makes BIOS initialization with the HP logo then it is not a driver issue, it is a hardware failure.
In the probooks I was inside the video is integrated in the motherboard, so the odds on the motherboard needs to be replaced to fix your problem.

Black screen after start - "Video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys.
Original title: black screen after startup
A few days ago I accidentally dropped my laptop I was trying to pick it up. It froze and I used the power button to stop it. The next day, it worked very well, I played a game, but then the screen got all blurry and it froze again. Therefore, whenever I started it normally, I would get a blank screen. But in Safe Mode, it worked fine.
I assumed it was my hard drive, I got a new and it seemed to work very well, I had reinstalled W7. Until I tried to install the updates and it the screen went white again. I used the system restore and got it to do work. Then decided to move to W10.
After the upgrade, the pc restarted with a white screen, I have it connected to the TV with an hdmi cable while you try to start it, then the screen worked fine. He stayed very well until I tried to install the updates. It would not just start up. He gave to the page «Video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys»
I returned to Windows 7 and now it always starts with a blank screen.
* the screen works very well throughout the boot process
And works fine in Safe Mode *.
Chances are, at least (if not more) there is now a default in the video circuits.
Be aware, the laptops are very delicate animals. This type of accident will most often mean end of system life. The biggest problem is the cost of the repairs in such a situation. The pieces are almost all owners - read overvalued. Repairs made by technicians who are not deeply experienced in the setting of your particular brand/model are often insufficiently. Which leads you onto the OEM repair service that is overvalued.
The result is that once a laptop is spent on the brand of 3 years, repair of such a system in such circumstances: the replacement more often.
Well consider a desktop computer type for a replacement. They are cheaper to begin with, usually more powerful - sometimes by a factor of 2, are easily repairable using components of off - the shelf that are commonly available and one made by several competitors. Desktop computers usually hold up well almost two times longer. From an ergonomic point of view, laptops are considered experts machines of 20 minutes. Use of meaning beyond that time can be bad for your health.
