BSOD when put on Satellite L300D

Can someone help me or tell me the best thing to do?

I bought my Toshiba Satellite L300D two years ago and it broke last year because I hit it a little because of the internet.
So I sent offshore to a friend of my uncle, who has replaced the drive with a 35 GB hard inside you.

But now, whenever I turn on my laptop I get the blue screen and it cannot cross, he says that windows can be corrupted and is not loading and it says to use the original installation CD, but I don't have one, but I have a Windows XP one and I would make Windows XP instead of Vista.

Is there anything I can do to get it working again? Please help me quickly

I have the disc I put it in and run off it goes to a white screen and then it comes up with language, so I take enlgish, so he says are you blah blaahdy sure that if I click Yes. Then he goes on something of command and made all this in writing, saying like unpacking OS and WinRE, then it no longer write. and said things his copies. so he says I/O boot has failed and says press any key to continue, what should I do?

HELP ME PLEASE!

> but I don't have one, but I have a Windows XP one and I would like to make Windows XP instead of Vista.

> Is there something I can do to get it working again?

Yes, you can try to install Win XP on this laptop.
But first, I would check the HARD drive.
Download the tool called Drive Fitness Test and test the HARD drive.
If the HARD drive would be ok, then it must be another reason why the IO error appears.

Go to BIOS and set the BIOS to the default settings, save the changes and then try to install Win XP.

I also recommend boot from other CDs (perhaps you could copy the Win XP disk to another disk and could use the other drive to start). It is possible that something is wrong with the CD of Win XP

  • BSOD when starting the Satellite C

My laptop crashed today, and because that everytime I restarted my laptop, a blue screen came, I talked to technical support.
He told me to do a HARD drive recovery I did. The laptop is still on as usual, but it too is windows service installation and stuck on the blue screen again.

Now when I try to press F8 at startup "repair my computer" isn't there.
Please help, really need to work again :)

    Hello

    > Now when I try to press F8 at startup 'repair my computer' is not there.
It seems that you didn't create a floppy disk for recovery in the past. Right?
Well, it means that you must order this disc, if you want to retrieve the laptop once more.

+ But back to the question BSOD: +.
BSOD may appear due to a software problem or hardware problem.
If the BSOD could not be resolved by retrieving the notebook, then I suppose that the material is affected.

In General, s for Toshiba laptop technician should check if the recovery procedure is not possible, or if something goes wrong after picking up the device.

In my opinion, the HARD drive and RAM should be tested at the first step.
If you wish, you can download the tool called Drive Fitness Test that would test the HARD drive. You can also remove one of the RAM modules, and it could test it in each memory slot.

It's really strange, sometimes it is hard to believe that this would be possible

I m not quote that if the reader of CD/DVD may be affected and cause this problem but nothing is impossible and that's why I think you should talk to the ASP in your country and have to explain the whole story I think guys won't believe something may be possible, but in my opinion the CD/DVD drive must be verified.

  • Satellite L300D BSOD after upgrade to Windows 7

I got this laptop (Satellite L300D) for a little more than a year with windows vista (32-bit) running and there were no problems. However, I've recently upgraded to Windows 7 (x 64) and became the problems since the first reboot.

On the first reboot after installing windows 7, the computer off just after the "Starting Windows" screen Turn on again took me to the repair of the system where he performed a system restore and I was able to start successfully even once. I thought that the problem had something to do with the automatic updates, so I disabled the and tried to restart to see if the problem has been corrected. This time, after the "Starting Windows" screen I got a BSOD of unrecoverable system error. After several attempts to reboot and multiple attempts to repair system (which usually says she didn't) it started correctly again.

This problem has been going for about 3 weeks now and it is quite irritating. The results of the system of compensation for claims that a "Boot critical file is corrupt", but it starts eventually after several attempts to start. He also has a habit of turning at random during the race (it happens about once or twice a day). So from now on, whenever I chaque fois que je tente tries to start my computer it shuts down after the start screen or give the BSOD and restarts and the only way to make it work seems to be to keep trying to start and hope for a successful boot of the system upward (this happens finally after a few failed attempts).

I did some research on this and came to [this | 1251 http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?modelFilter=L300D-ST3501&rpn=PSLC8U&category=&selCategory=3&moid=222 & os = & ct = DL & selFamily = 1073768663] page. I think that's exactly what my problem is (need to update the BIOS), but if I understand correctly installing windows to do this only for 2000/xp/vista and I am unable to use the second option to boot from the disc as I get the BSOD before he gets to that point. I should try the windows install option although I am running windows 7 or is there another way to update the BIOS? Or I'm off completely and the problem is with something else?

I wasn't sure what information I would like to add to this post so if need more information please let me know.

    Thanks in advance

Edit: Oops, just realized the page I linked is not link to exactly what I had opened. I do not speak of 'critical BIOS updates for Windows 7 64-bit' under 'support form '.

    Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know what code BSOD, you get exactly. Can you post this information useful? Normally, on the Microsoft Knowledge Base, you can find additional information about most of the BSOD codes and so you can start to solve this problem.

BSODS are often associated with drivers or RAM/HDD. The latter, you can check with special diagnostic tools, Memtest86 for RAM and Drive Fitness Test for the HARD drive. These two tools are free and you can find it using Google. You can download an iso image of them to create a bootable media where you can start the test.

Regarding your update to the BIOS: I put t know what L300D you have exactly, but according to the Toshiba site it shows an update of the BIOS also for Windows 7 64-bit. You can try to install it.

  • Re: Satellite L300-1AP BSOD when installing Windows XP

I have a new L300-1AP and would like to intall XP Pro but when I try it I get the stop message 0x0000007b.

Made a new installation disc integrated with all updated sata drivers, I still get the message. I'm not sure about how I would install drivers of third party on the F6 function because it has not a diskette and cany to find how to do the same thing in a CD anywere.

I appreciate that we should all try to use the vista OS that came with it, but it is a problem of compatibility with older software that I use.

    Can anyone help please?

In the Microsoft Knowledge Base is an article about it:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3ben-us%3B324103&x=17&y=8

I think that there is something wrong with the SATA drivers. My Satellite L300 works with XP without problems or BSOD when installing.

The SATA drivers are in this package, and the Intel Storage Manager you can download on the Toshiba site.
You can create your own installation with nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/) disc.
If I have integrated the SATA drivers, you do not have to press F6. The HARD drive will be automatically recognized.

    Hello

I m a bit confused now... When you get exactly the BSOD? After complete installation of Windows or after that?
By the way: BSOD code what you get exactly?

I often read on codes of BSOD when installing XP so I guess that you didn't use the correct driver SATA. You need the Storage Manager to properly install Windows and you can find this driver on the Toshiba site.

By the way: you can also use the forum search to find similar topics.

    Hello

Recover the laptop once more and test it using the new system recovered.
Of my knowledge year it causes might be related to drivers of software installed on the system, but since you do not have anything, I recommend the system recovery.

  • Re: Satellite L300D and Win7 - cannot find the WLAN driver

I have the Satellite L300D (PSLC8C-06T01R) I just got this in the month; I decide to put Windows 7 on thinking there would be all the necessary drivers. Well I was wrong; Once I installed 7 we find all drives but the wireless card. I don't then told me the Vista disks would work on Windows 7 so I tried and no luck, I then put Vista on and everything was fine, then when I went to look for the driver for the wireless card in Vista, it doesn t do anything the card is always 'does not work correctly.

Vista Atheros wireless drivers or something else on the site Web of Toshiba don t do anything.

If anyone has the same problem made me know, or if anyone knows how to fix this or even if it is possible to find the drivers for windows 7 that would be great cuz that s my goal (Windows 7)

Please as soon as possible I need this laptop at the University.

For me, it makes sense to collect all relevant information before you do something again. Obviously you didn't check before installing Win7 Toshiba support page. Until that Win7 is not released Toshiba will offer no tricks of Win7.

As I see you have Canadian cell phone model and I don't know what WLAN card is inside, but in your a story thing confused me. You have installed Vista again. I assume you have done this with original Toshiba recovery image. This recovery image is designed for certain model of laptop and contains all the necessary drivers for all hardware components. I don't understand what the problem with the wireless network card.
I have to ask you if you have installed Vista with the Toshiba recovery image?

  • Satellite L300D begins only after the battery has been drained and recharged

I have a satellite L300D that has a problem at startup. Last week, it closed but got stuck on the "Disconnect" screen for a long time. Finally I manually turn it off by holding down the power button. Don't think no more of him it happened sometimes with my computers. However, when I went to turn it back on - it was nothing. Power lights came to the front of the computer, but not to screen at all. Could not even access the BIOS. Nothing. It was like that for several days.

Tried all the common solutions - removed battery, disconnect the power supply and press the power button - still nothing. Tried w/o - just AC, just the battery. Even stripped down to the motherboard to see if I could remove the CMOS battery and reset the CMOS but it is soldered on the motherboard. Put all back together, still nothing.

Finally, I had to recharge my cell phone using a USB adapter and given that the computer had power I tried the usb port and it worked (for example, I could charge the phone - still no screen on the computer). The computer's battery is dead and I plugged it in. That evening, after the battery was full, I tried the computer and it has perfectly worked. Started correctly, shut it down, restarted and it was fine. Unplugged this night there and reconnected again in the morning and... nothing. Just a black screen. No BIOS.

Killed the battery again then reloaded and now my computer is working again.

Any ideas on what could cause this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

In my opinion her only the only one you can is update the BIOS like Akuma suggested. This problem is not related software so that s the only option you have I think. You can download the latest version of the BIOS here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

If this is not the case, contact an authorized service provider please. Guys can fix all this hardware related problems can diagnose this problem. Maybe the motherboard or something else must be exchanged.

    Good luck! :)

It does not start. I have the power of Yes, and it dosent seem to work at all.
I used to run vista Home premium on it but she kept crashing on me, so I tried to make recovery disks and that has not worked, kept computer sends me wouldent and mistakes write cd

It has gotten to the point where my laptop wouldent work so I erased the memory and yes I tried the thing to push "0" and nothing was.
When I had cleared I tried to install windows home edition, Ive had a satellite before this problem and that fixed it, but a blue screen keeps popping up saying that the computer stopped inorder to damage it.

I tried at home, Proffessional and even a vista upgrade disc and nothing works.

So I really need to know what went wrong and how to fix it.

    Hello

To me, this looks like a serious hardware problem.
If you are not able to reinstall the operating system on the HARD drive then some of the equipment should work.
It of difficult to say what role could be faulty we can assume only what could be wrong

If the BSOD appears the first part that should be checked is RAM module.
The faulty RAM memory may be the reason for BSOD and therefore, it would be interesting to know if the new RAM would solve this problem
You can delete only one module of RAM and could try to start the laptop comes with an installed module.

If it doesn't, then you need a help of a technician for laptop
Guys could check essential components such as the CPU or the motherboard

  • Satellite L300D-11V - DVD player does not work

    Hello

I am a Satellite L300D-11V and the driver on the CD does not work. I think is not the right driver and an update of Windows could have messed up.
Anyone know where I can download the correct driver for the DVD player for Vista? Or solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Mounira.

    Hello!

I put t understand why you need a CD/DVD driver or tell you the driver does not work.

The CD/DVD driver for the reader is part of Windows. You don't need one and should not install a new or something else. When you have problems with the drive, it s not the driver, it s another issue.

Now have yellow marks in the Device Manager and can use the drive? On the right, a right click on the drive and select uninstall. Restart your laptop, and the driver should be installed automatically.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L300D - how to reinstall Vista

    Hello

    I own a Toshiba Satellite L300D.
I met recently several virus horse Trojan that may not allow me to access the internet I get the message "Internet Explorer has stopped working".
I also frequently get a blue screen after that my profile was load at startup saying that there was a physical memory dump.

Currently, I have family vVsta premium, but have managed to get their hands on a vista enterprise that I want to erase my hard drive.

The only problem is that when I go in the Boot Manager, I can't find an option to do this.
    Can someone help me?

    Thank you

    Hello

You cannot format the HARD drive if the Vista is running!
If you want to format and install the new Vista operating system, then you must take a new disk of Vista and have to boot from that disk.
Then the procedure of installation, and you must follow the on-screen installation instructions.
Usually MS Vista asks you where you want to install the operating system and if you want to format the HARD drive.

PS: Id you would use the disk Microsoft Vista then you should change in the mode of AHCI SATA compatible BIOS.

In addition, I doubt that the BSOD was caused by the virus or Trojan horse. The BSOD appears mainly due to a software or hardware failure serious
