Burst mode

Recently when reading an article, I came across the phrase

"f the application deployed using burst mode, then... otherwise if application is deployed as a Coop like ear, war etc. then...". »

What is an exactly burst mode?

Hello

  • HP/Agilent 33120 A pulse, use burst mode

    Hello

I'm trying to trigger a pulse of demand on from a HP 33120 A function generator.

The pulse must be a 0 - 5V simple, with frequency/period adjustable ramp. I was able to get as much of the FG by use of burst mode and trigger manually on the front panel. Now, I would like to get the same functionality from a LabVIEW VI.

Although there is a driver for the device, the burst feature is, unfortunately, not applicable to the model that I use. I found a similar problem on the forums and follow the code of the SCPI provided in the answer with some of my own humidification (http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/33120A-Pulse-Mode/td-p/1088106).

Unfortunately, my VI does not produce the same waveform as the manual release out of the front panel. It hovers at the offset value and gives me a few square wave to zero when I run the VI. Square waves are spaced oddly and I usually see 4-5, even though I specified 1 cycle in VI. The 33120A reading, I feel that this is of my do not turn off the previous signal but, if this is the case, I can't understand how I would do.

I start to move away from using only the drivers by changing the code of the SCPI, but I'm still pretty new to this. Would appreciate some advice on what could be the problem. I modified my original VI twice; Once configure only the FG burst wave parameters manually and one just put up the waveform with no shine. The first don't not gave me much better results and the works of the latter very well so I'm back to the question of thinking are in transition.

I enclose the original VI (b) with the two modifications to the case where (c and d).

    Hope to hear from you,

Edit: Burst chain should say TRIG: SOUR BUS instead of EXT, although neither works.

  • Slow buffering when shooting in burst mode high with my 7DMarkii... What is the fastest SD card?

When shooting in burst mode high with my 7 D Mark ii, I do not get optimal performance... the buffer fills up fast and backup... while I can't take shots more... I disabled the quite high definition noise reduction... Usually, I only have an SD card in the camera. I do not use the other card slot... is it because I didn't have the fastest SD card... For those of you who shoot regularly 7 D Mark ii, make it a point to always shoot with a SAndisk SD 95 map... ? I'd get better performance if I used the slot for CF card or both?

    IRIS says:

I'm shooting a low ISO... I have disabled noise reduction... I'm shooting a Standard picture style... I'm shooting RAW only... My battery is charged... Then why is it backup and buffering so often? I forgot something? is it's just that the CF card is faster? .... I doh't understand why I don't get the perfromance promised high 20 + something burst shots...

First of all, Yes, CF cards are faster.

Second, the number you see is the current buffer and does not include the write speed of your card.

The only way to tell what your real brightness issue is therefore to test.

Shooting RAW to SanDisk Extreme PRO 32 GB 160 MB/s UDMA 7 CF Card, I get about 30 shots before the outbreak slows. My viewfinder shows 15.

Note When your feature of gust of defined test cards your lens to manual focus (MF) because according to your settings of priority to focus the camera auto focus can slow or even stop your glow.

  • Shooting mode continues ELPH 330

I decided to finally try my Elph 330 burst mode, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is supposed to do. From the manual, it looks like I should be able to hold the shutter button and the camera will snap photos continuously, but no matter what I try just a single image. I am sure that I have continuous mode, and by the manual I have not all settings on this conflict with the burst mode. Am I misunderstanding the purpose of the continuous mode shooting? Or is there some other secret which is not in the manual?

Yes, it is the intention of the Rafale; you press the button, and it takes several shots.  It is possible that some shooting modes do not allow in burst mode.  I guess he has a sport mode, try this to see if it works.

  • Sony SLT - A58K continuous shooting Mode

I noticed that when taking pictures in continuous mode, the first Salvo fires quickly, but it seems to go more slowly to take the photo and the LCD screen or viewfinder (if you use it) shows the flashing of image and suggest you do not get anywhere near the 8 shots per second - also after a while it seems to pause before continuing

Here is a video showing it - could it be down to memory card or is it problem with camera

    Hi walkerx

I don't see the link of the video, but I'm guessing it's a problem of small buffer.

Here is a site that lists buffer tests:
    http://www.Imaging-Resource.com/prods/Sony-A58/Sony-a58A6.htm

It seems to me that the motorway a58 unfortunately just has a small buffer - that means, it grows quickly, but his memory will fill up very quickly and start to slow as he tries to face to save the photos on the memory card to clear its internal memory to take more pictures.

If you are not already using at least a class 10, try that, but honestly I don't think it will help with the burst mode, single shots (where images are saved faster to the map)

Looking at the tests from the link above, it seems that the a58 motorway has just a very small buffer - only designed to do a few quick bursts, not shooting continuously

Is it possible that you hold down shutter button too long, inadvertently, trigger in burst mode?

    From the iOS manual

Take burst shots: (iPhone 5 s and later versions) Touch and hold the shutter button to take pictures of rapid fire in bursts (available all square mode or Photo). The shutter sound is different, and the counter shows how many shots you took, until you lift your finger. To see the suggested plans and select the photos that you want, press the thumbnail, and then press Select. The gray stripes under tiles mark the proposed pictures. To copy a picture of the explosion as a separate photo photo, click on the circle in the bottom right corner the photo. To remove the burst of photos, type it and then press on .

  • Basler spL2048 - 70km with card PCIe-1433, low cadence

    Dear community LabView,

I'm trying to run a Basler Sprint Mono spL-2048-70 km with a frame grabber module NI PCIe-1433. While the initial start-up was plug-and-play, turning the camera to the specified maximum speed (300 kHz) proves to be a challenge.

Namely, I use the camera with a trigger in burst mode (main trigger frequency 10 Hz + burstmode up to 300 kHz) but the maximum reproducible work rep for the burst rate is around 30 kHz. I tried various options to increase the overall pace over the last few days but hit a wall.

The system is a desktop based Win 7:

    Win 7 Enterprise SP 1

    Intel Core i5-2500 @ 3.3 GHz

    8 GB ram

    64-bit system

I have attached the sample code I use below. Its the first time I tried to create fram high rate of requests so I hope it's just a very obvious mistake that can be fixed quickly and elegant.

Thank you very much in advance

    Dear NIko,

    Thanks again for your involvement.

I found yet another entry in the forum which helped me a lot.

    https://forums.NI.com/T5/machine-vision/acquisition-rate-is-half-of-trig-rate-why/TD-p/2029160/page/...

Even if it of another camera and resembles another question originally it solved my problem. It seems one must trigger the acquisition card in ' Action: trigger start of acquisition "mode and the device itself in" exposure control: triggered "in order to avoid long latencies and reach higher than 100 kHz framerates.

    Brief overview:

    -use the Vi posted

-define the Framegrabber Action: trigger the start of the acquisition

-define a camera exposure control: triggered

-Use 512 pixel AOI (via Basler CTC +)

-OR-Max allows you to set the source of external camera command-line (moving the switch directly to the camera)

--> Aquire burst mode with frequency intraburst up to 200 kHz (not sure if about 200 kHz creates problems)

    ---> be happy

The specification from the point of view, the camera must be able to still 300 kHz. The frequency of my goal is 200 kHz I see this issue as resolved.

Thanks a lot for your help and I hope this helps the rest of the community, and

  • Agilent 33250 has synchronized with DT9812

    Hello everyone,

I'm trying to control two devices (Agilent 33250 A and card DAQ DT9812) synchronizedly using LabVIEW.
I need excite a transducer using an arbitrary waveform generated by 33250 A burst mode with its frequency swept KHz x to Y KHz with a given increment. Breakup of period and number of cycles should also be adjustable.
I am trying to send orders for the generator of signals via port GPIB using LabVIEW VIs.I have the necessary drivers. (Config Burst Modulation.VI under "ag33xxx.llb" and Agilent 33XXX series generate Arbitrary Waveform.vi under "examples" in the attached file) but I don't know how to combine these two.
I contacted the instrument without any problem and I can take any form of arbitrary wave I want. I can also put the generator in burst mode, but I have to be able to do in a single VI.
After that, I also need to synchronize the process such as the each time that the frequency of the waveform changes, data is acquired by the computer. I have the LV-LINK to control data acquisition card. I'd appreciate any help that gets at least started me off.

    Thanks in advance

    Deniz

  • 1774 - error 0xBFFF8004

We use a smart camera OR 1774C with Vision Builder 2011 on a PC with Windows 7 SP1 via a Ethernet cable, at this stage only through 'acquire Image - Sample' and not a model of inspection (the software engineer is not available for this). Whenever I try to run the camera in burst mode, I find myself after less than a minute or two with a loss of communication and a "error-1073774588 / 0xBFFF8004 ' message... then Vision cannot see the camera and Windows Task Manager shows the use of the network as being 99%, even if I unplug or turn off the camera. And when I'm in Windows logs for applications I find some messages in the likes of "LabView information: 404 Not Found error for / national instruments/vision/vision builder have / commserver, file c:/program files / national instruments/shared/or Server Web/www/national instruments/vision/vision builder have / commserver, can not access the URL ', the only difference between newspapers is the very last part 'commserver' or '4.2.0 '.

This problem also occurs if I go for a single image or sometimes without even firing at all. Initially, the camera was put on a dynamic IP, so I tried several static IP settings including one of our IT checked, Guy and he never solved the problem. Sometimes the stability would be a little better, but eventually it would "crash."

I had a bit of a navigation on the forums and cannot find a solution although discussions are more or less related. Someone from the support team OR was here recently, he had a quick glance and we discovered that when the camera was connected to his computer laptop everything was fine. It does not always include why things do not work with our computer... and I tried all kinds of network settings with or without our internal network connected to the computer.

So I'm now desperately need some ideas. Is there an update for Labview or the camera I have to do? The software engineer responsible for all recent updates on the computer a few days ago that...

OK so the last word seems to be one of the 2 Intel Gigabit Ethernet controllers on the motherboard don't like the camera. When you use the port running on an Intel 82583V processor I feel what is described above, but when I use the other port with a processor Intel 82578 DM all right. Software of the camera is now updated to version 01/2012 and I have not known any kind of 'crash' when shooting in continuous mode for a good 10 minutes. So far so good.

The main difference between the 2 controllers seems to be on the support of Jumbo frames, whatever that means.

  • 580 EX does not take up with the 5 d Mk III?

Hello! Newbie and displays the first time. I'm not an experienced user of flash, so didn't know what to expect when you shoot in burst mode, at a party over the weekend. I had the 580 in ETTL and tilted up to bounce off the ceiling. I had the 5 d in normal burst (not high-speed). When shooting, I came across a situation where the flash would work for the first exhibition, but the following shows were dark. Try at home last night, I ran 5 shows burst; the flash fires for the first two, but not the last three. When you set the flash locked horizontally (not to bounce), he worked for all 5 shows. What would cause this behavior? Low battery? The camera can be set to "wait" for the flash?

    Thank you!

    Wayne

This is quite normal and subject flash has the same problem.

They recharge up to internal capacitors to the Flash.  It is these capacitors that provide the burst of power to provide the flash.  Once the flash is triggered, the batteries need to replenish the power in the capacitors to be ready for the next flash.  Batteries more (and the freshest and most fully charged the battery) recycles faster in flash.

    But there is more.

If you're shooting in E - TTL flash gauges what power he needs to deliver adequately to light up the scene.  If you're shooting in manual, you can define the fraction of power that delivers the flash (for example you want a full power flash (1/1) or do you want a fraction (1/32nd ordered?).)  If the flash has to deliver is "full" amount of energy, so it'll take more time to recycle.  If it provides only a fraction of its energy, it will be ready to go INSTANTLY (no delay) as it still has enough power in the capacitors to pull another fractional burst of power.  In fact... When shooting mode "sync high speed", that is precisely how flash works... it flashes VERY quickly, but using only a tiny part of its full potential for each burst.

If you need "full" power and you need it FAST there is a solution for that too.  You have to cluster flashes to work like a gang.  for example if I have cluster 4 flashes together, then every Flash would be enough to trigger at 1/4 power and yet as a gang they are always provided the light of the ' total '.  This means after 1 burst, each light has still 3/4S of its left power and he could shoot four times in very quick succession.  Only after the 4th flash you have to stop for Flash recycle.  I think you can cluster up to 15 lightning - you should never a lot.

For your application, make sure that your batteries are fresh.  (Tip: Sanyo Eneloop rechargeables are great in these hot flashes and save you the purchase of single use batteries.)  If it is not fast enough for you even with new batteries, then buy the accessory pack external battery for the 580EX II (which can effectively triple the amount of energy supplied to the light.).
