  I know you can use a variable in a script with Essbase report & at the beginning of the name.  Example & CurMonth.  This works very well for me.  But, you can use & FcstMonths when the value of the months are more than one Member?  It works in a calc script when & FcstMonths = March, April, may, June... etc, but, when I use it in a report script, the script will not validate the saying "unknown member of the value.  I tried to change it to January.February.March... etc.  I also tried February: December.  None of them does not seem to work.  Is it just not possible for Essbase report?  Thanks in advance.

  If you want to include a list of members in the report script, you specify the members separated by spaces.  If you set the variable...

  "Mar" "Apr" "May" "Jun" "Jul" "Aug" "Sep" "Oct" "Nov" "Dec"

  I use essbase report to extract data using maxl, whenever he use outline replacing for alias name of the Member, report to get the name of the Member not only the alias name

  Here is the part of the script using the alias name

  Don't know what else is there in your script to report. Will be helpful if you can put the complete script.

  That's what I tried on sample of database where 'empty' is the table alias without all the entries so when it is selected, it is expected to come out of the names of members.

  I need help about script report essbase.  I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to use the script essbase report command "< MATCH" so that I can match a sequence on the alias rather than the name of the member name. I searched the Internet without success. Maybe someone in this community knows how to do this.  If you can answer with a specific example that could help out me as I am very visual.

  Well, first of all - I should have directed you to MATCHEX; which allows you to specify if you want to search for names, pseudonyms or both, no matter what you come back to the report. Much better.

  This requirement is difficult because as you have seen, the * generic cannot be used at the end of the model. Also, you should use? that means that a single character.

  A few options:

  Search for '? Setting 'and '? Setting' and so on until 70 marks (!) the question and click on LINK to union all results. Not elegant!

  Create a UDA and tag accounts adjustment like this - I would do that anyway, I do not rely on an alias.

  We have essbase load rule with the sql data source. In windows, it linked through ODBC created using the ODBC Manager in Windows. The Essbase server in the Production environment is now on the linux machine. How to connect the rule files essbase with the SQL data source now?

• How to select multiple members in a business rule variable?

  Hi all

  I have a business rule with the following statement of the correction:

  DIFFICULTY ({those}, {scenario}, @LIST (@RELATIVE ({count}, 0)), of 'Work')

  Account is a variable:

  Type: Member

  Dimension: account

  The rule works when a user selects a single account: Total revenue.  When I change the variable count to 'Members' and select several accounts: Total revenue, Total loads, the rule does not run.  Here is the log:

  DIFFICULTY ("FY14", "Forecast", @LIST (@RELATIVE ("recipes", "Total expenses", 0)), 'Work')

  Is there a way to make this rule work for multiple selections of Member?

  If you decide to give this another go, in my view, there is just a syntax error.  I got the code below to validate, however I try to run anything.

• Rule Variables display business as Undefined following import for the calculation Manager

  On the Variables tab in a source system Calc. Most of our business rules Manager have defined variables.

  However following export / import in a Calcualtion System Manager target the same variables appear as "undefined". Therefore, I am unable to validate the rules in the target calculation System Manager as it requires me to enter valid values for each variable before doing so.

  I tried to define a substitution variable that holds the current month and the previous in current year called curryrmnths. For example, the current month is March, the value of the variable must be Jan, Feb, Mar.
  
  I am trying to use this variable for reports in order to make dynamic reports, instead of manually enetering the new month each time. (We use the reports financial hyperion).
  
  I tried different syntaxes like,
  
  Jan: Mar
  Jan, Feb, Mar
  "Jan, Feb, Mar.
  
  But none seems not to work, they arise while setting in the reports.
  
  Can anyone suggest a solution? How a range of values is dynamically adjustable in a report?

  Can anyone provide me with the basis of a business rule syntax to allow end users to run a fast time of execution business rule to aggregate at their level of responsibility within a dimension as a cost center? So, for example, I want to allow a cost Manager Center choose its parent level cost center and then run the script only expenses cost center ROLLUP aggregation. I tried to include AGG and ordering CalcDim with various global variables to allow them to select the difficulty cost center point, but the aggregation does not produce good results. I also tried the "Cumulative" business rule in the module of labor and it seems not only roll the cost of parent center selected member. Anyone have a usable for this syntax?

• Rule-variable to change gravity

  I'm pumping my alerts in a ticketing system.  And found that foglight uses a system of gravity of 1-4 with 4 being the most serious alert "mortals."  My ticketing system uses a severity 1-5, 1 being the most severe level.  I think I need to create a variable of the rule that is an expression that basicially runs an if statement then and said that if severty foglight is 4 then set to 1 if it is 3, then the value 2, etc... However, I'm not familiar with how to write such a statement and was hoping that someone here can help?

  I figured it out, I created a variable adjustedSeverity with this expression

• SPA112 / SPA122 Report rule - Delta / status outputs

  I played with the rule of the report and the documentation is not very clear regarding the two report options:-delta and - status

  If I set the rule report [-status]http://myserver/posthandler.php, I see the application to come, but the content of the POST is the real configuration (flat profile) instead of (dish-State) file. This also applies when you use the option - delta

  I use 1.3.1 to test, but I'm not 1.3.2 probably does not work as well.

  Anyone ever been able to generate a delta or get the ATA status.xml file content? I can get the URL (http://my_ata_ip/admin/status.xml), but would be nice to do remote too.

  It is an old and chaotic Guide version. But even here, they mention the status and delta is only supported on the version of the firmware, you do not use (because it is not available for SPA112).

• Essbase support rule - automatically settle some negative accounts

  Hi guys,.
  
  We have a little problem here. Load us a file into Essbase (v11), this file contains several accounts. For this example we will say - costs and revenues.
  
  Both revenue and costs are in the same file and have positive values. When they enter into essbase, costs are expected to have negative while income should be left as positive. How could I manage it in the same rule of load?
  
  One idea was for me to do 2 loading rules. We reject the costs and expenses income only. The other rejects the revenue and charges fees and scale-0.0, the figure becomes negative.
  
  So basically, if there is a way in which we achieve the same rule to load instead of creating a new one, it would be great.
