  Salvation all of Spain, I had the same problem with my new XPS 2720. The eject led in the monitor has always been on and didn t work, didn t of ejection. At least in my case the problem started when I updated to DELL OS app to the latest version (007) available in the Dell download page drivers. I uninstalled the new version, reinstalled the earlier, 006, and the led has started working again as it should (lights only when a disc is pushed in and when the disc is ejected).   I have a question about the all new XPS 27 PC AIO Haswell. There is the option (as the old model 2710) to set up the XPS specification with a 32 GB cache mSATA SSD and a 2 TB for storage HARD drive.

  Is it possible to spend the mSATA SSD in an mSATA 256Go example and use it as system drive disk / boot for Windows? So can I turn off the RST in the Bios (from RAID on AHCI) and freshly install Windows? I'd not taken in charge of software preinstalled, I want just a much faster PC. I mean there are mSATA 450GB SSD on the market and it would be a shame, if this interface is reserved for caching? Who needs that at a time where the SSDS get cheaper.

  Hi, I recently updated to Win10 I've taught it will be easier way for installation after upgrade fees, but the reset button does not work so I decided to return to 8.1.   So I found the problem, it's a BIOS. I tried to reset it in PIN on MB and it did not help removed battery no change I found that the BIOS utility can be forced thru cmd. So I did and the finishing of the bios update successful she even seems scary cos for any computer freezes. but that came on and after several early I can again use all the RAM slot with what ram size I want.

  How to force the update of the BIOS...
  Open cmd as administrator
  and run the exe with command extra /forceit in my case "A12.exe /forceit".
  Voila BIOSupdate is running

  I just got a Dell XPS 2720 of decision-making and it rocks so hard, except that I can't get the job of SSD cache and it is so annoying because I paid extra for it.

  • Open Intel Rapid Storage to enable Smart Response, but the acceleration tab is missing. Performance shows only a power management option.

  I tried to use diskpart to clean the SSD, initialize it in the MBR, GUID, creating a RAW partition, etc. and a ton of combinations of things in disk management, but I can't get TSRI give me this option of accelerating.

  Everyone seems to have a different story how to push the cover SSD RST at work, so here's mine:

  After a disk crash I had to reinstall Windows 8 and update to Windows 8.1. For some reason, I'm done with a recovery at the beginning and at the end of the disk partition. It seems that the option to accelerate the RST does not appear if the last partition is not the operating system.

  After I deleted the partition recovery with the diskpart utility (select the disc, select the partition, delete partition override) and the partition of the BONE at the end of the disc, the acceleration tab appeared and Smart Response works! If the error was not the mSATA SSD, but the structure of the partition on the disk to the operating system.

  So I guess that, if the OS partition is not the last partition on the disk, the Smart Response option will not be displayed. Intel should really document this better.

  Hi, I bought a new Dell XPS 8700 three months ago.  It comes with Windows 8, even if I asked for preinstalled Win10.  The Win10 upgrade process was fairly straightforward.  However so far three times the SD card reader stopped working.  I fix it by reinstalling the drivers.  Its not working again and my USB stopped working also.  Is there a background process that interferes with USB / SD card drivers?  Anyone else noticed this behavior.

  Hello. This is my first post on the forums and I hope someone can help me.

  The Dell XPS 2710 all-in-one I bought for my 10 year old 15 months ago (Yes, that means that the guarantee is expired) will not start. No no post, no beeps, nothing. Just a brief spark of light on the screen, no words, nothing. The machine gets occasional use, and there is nothing to indicate what could have caused the problem. I have not upgraded the BIOS recently, is not as if it was a bad BIOS update, or whatever it is. I tried to hit the F1, F2, F12 keys delete during startup. No results.

  The video works. I know because I can connect my laptop to the HDMI-in port and I can see the desktop of my laptop very well. So the question is NOT the video. My son uses this machine for occasional movies and homework in his room. I want to fix the computer, if I can. I am handy with computers and built several machines from the outset in the past.

  I believe that the most likely scenario is that the motherboard has went wrong; There are several posts around the internet about motherboards 2710 AIO being unreliable. I saw an ad on the forums of Dell from a guy who said Dell Tech Support replaced its motherboard 2710 five times. I see that some of these motherboards are selling on eBay for around $200. I'm toying with the idea of getting a. I watched the service manual for the 2710 and I'm pretty confident that I could replace the Board of Directors.

  OK, I have removed all the RAM from the motherboard (there were two sticks) and unplug the connector on the SATA hard drive. Then I turned on the machine and got two beeps very strong, but still no video on the screen indicating any form of activity of the POST. The sound signals have been first sounds I've ever heard during the procedure of boot on this machine. I put the RAM back in and re-connected the SATA cable.
