C4650 only prints n & B - Mac OSX 10.9.5

I just plugged my HP4650 to a new iMac OSX 10.9.5 running. The black ink & colour in the HP are new and works fine when my Windows PC printing. However, the iMac will print that in B & W. HP does not provide a specific driver for Mac and iMac uses the generic driver by default. It recognizes as a HP Photosmart C4600 series and describes her "gender" as "generic PCL Laser Printer". There is no options available for printing color selecg in the menus of breeders & Scanners. Also does not recognize ink levels Supply. Is there a solution to this?

I solved the problem by removing the printer and then re - install the Printers & Scanners menu. All functions seem to work now.

  • HP LaserJet 5100dtn: 5100dtn HP does not print duplex on Mac OSX Yosemite

    Hello

I recently bought a LaserJet 5100dtn. I work with Mac OSX Yosemite (10.10.3). I can't get my OS to recognize the duplex printing option. I have the duplexer attached to my printer, and I know it works because it printed a test page. I have the setting the paper handling > Duplex > WE * however, it keeps printing sided pages.

The problem is maybe that my printer settings have "duplex" grayed out.

I wonder if there is a problem with the printer driver? This printer is no longer manufactured (I bought mine used), then maybe there is a problem with the driver communicates duplex printing features?

Any help you could offer would be great! Thank you in advance!

Just post to say that I found the solution to this video on YouTube:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=3KI6rfQ_PJ4

The slight difference for users of Yosemite (this is an another OSX) is:

Go to Printers & Scanners > click the printer you want to print duplex (in this case LaserJet 5100) > in the main window, click Options & supplies > leOptionsonglet > duplex unit.

If you manually check 'Duplex' then 2-sided will not be grayed out when this printer is selected.

    Problem solved!

  • Printing problems with MAC OSX 10.7.5 C4795

    Hello

I have a HP Photosmart C4795. This is on a MAC with os x 10.7.5.

I have installed the printer when we bought the MAC 2 years and it worked like a charm. It is connected with a USB cable.

Then only, it has stopped working and jobs would sit in the queue for hours before finally printed. I often get an additional page with a bunch of strange and put symbols discarded after the task is completed.

I uninstalled and found the drivers reinstalled and updated a few months ago and it worked like a charm!

Last night I tried to print homework of my son, and then he stuck. I uninstalled again and reinstalled without success.  I rebooted the power as well. Unplugged the USB cord but everything just sits and the queue, said that he sends to the device.

I checked and there is no new drivers since 12/15/11. I have those.

HELP Please and thank you! I need to get this figured out so my son can print projects.

  • 8600 pro cannot print wireless with Mac OSX 10.7.4

I just the HP OffiveJet 8600 Pro and installed fine, but just will not print using wifi.

Printer detect the wifi network and connects fine using WEP and remains connected.

Software installed on Mac.  Had a little trouble finding the printer to start with (had to connect via the USB port), but finally managed to add a printer in system preferences. Have the box "Share this printer on the network" checked.

When I try and print a doc I can choose the 8600 (marked with a green dot, ready). The print queue window opens showing 'search printer', then 'the printer is not connected.

Prints fine when connected via USB.

    Installation program:

    Apple MacBook Pro, OS 10.7.4

    Router: D-Link DSL 2640 R

    Wireless security: WEP

Anyone know what is happening? It should be much easier than that

    Hello

Thank you for that. In fact I use WPA - PSK security, I was wrong.

In fact, I solved the problem by assigning a static IP address to the printer.

  • Color LaserJet Pro M277DW: LaserJet Pro M277DW Color print in b & W / Grayscale only in Mac OSX PhotoShop / InDesign

First of all, I have consulted page 123 of the manual as a response to a similar question can be a solution. The options mentioned for select tab color, and grayscale, etc., apply only to the Windows driver, not OSX.

I use Mac OS x.  With the base driver ready to install on the Mac, there is a box of Options of the printer with a 'Black & White' checkbox is available, this will print successfully using only the black toner, in *not color managed* software, such as the preview Mac and Word, etc.

In Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, even with the checkbox 'Black & White' ticked, the software continues to print in color, by substituting the safe choice 'black and white' of the driver.

How can I force the LaserJet Pro M277DW Color to print using only black toner cartridge in PhotoShop / InDesign / Acrobat, color managed - on a Max OSX software?

This can be easily achieved with my Epson color inkjet printers, if I select black only - I get only a black / grey print from Photoshop / Indesign / Acrobat, why is it not an option with this HP printer? -Surely everyone needs this option B & W, a basic requirement and should have been in the design of the driver of the day 1. which option / check box / treat I'm dominant? Why is Photoshop / Indesign / Acrobat of the substitution of the option of blocking & saved from the driver?

    HELP PLEASE!

    -------

NB. the question is not helped with the dedicated HP driver downloaded from the drivers HP page. This looks like it offers more options via a link "web-server" to the printer, but with this driver the 'black' option is totally deleted Print Options! - Neither is B & W available as a print of "web-server" Printers page, making the entiely to the useless HP driver!

See here, it's using the dedicated downloaded driver, the B & W option is gone! -which means that I can not print even in B & W with the software not color managed (Mac Preview etc)...

After a day of experimentation, the question was a subtle detail when you select Add a printer.

Maybe it will help others with the same problem when using Mac OSX...

When you add a printer in the dropdown list use, the default is Secure AirPrint, this removes the possibility to print in B & W! - and removes the other options!  Got knows why this is the default value.

Make sure you only select the printer named on this drop down menu - the M277dw - as has pointed out below.

The printer will then work with all available parameters - and works wirelessly (I assumed the use, it will take the AirPrint - but he doesn't - that this also removes the features; selects the actual name of the printer).

Once this 'use' is defined correctly, the grayscale option is available via the Options of the printer in the application you are printing since then, inclusing Photoshop, etc., whew.  I also saved it as a "Preset" BW...

    Hello

What happens when you scan from the HP or Capture of Image scanning software, you see similar problems?

In the affirmative, please let me know because it wil require to solve any problem of connectivity to the printer.

If everything works with software such as HP can happen due to any problem with VueScan, such I would say contacting VueScan at torubleshoot because they are more familiar with their product.

Please let me know the results,

Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that you have problems with your Mac 10.10 machines printing to your printer. I can certainly help with that.

First of all, since it seems that you have a network, we will refresh the connections on your network. To do:

    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is turned off, unplug your router for a minute.
    3. Once your Mac have internet access once again turn the printer.
    4. Try to print.

If your document still print only the last page, then we reset the printing on the Mac system.

    To do:

    1. On a Mac, go to your icon of the Apple, system preferences and printers and Scanners.
    2. Hold down the command key while clicking on the icon of your printer on the left side.
    3. Select Reset printing system.
    4. Once the printer is removed from the window on the left, click on the button "+" at the bottom left.
    5. In the next window, select your printer.
    6. Next to the line that says "use:" Airprint-click and select your printer
    7. Click on Add.
    8. Try to print.

If this resolve that your printing problem then please let others know by clicking on accept as Solution to the left. If you have any other questions please let me know by responding to my post on this topic.

  • HP 6700 premiums AiO not printed with the size of the special page (Mac OSX 10.9.1 Mavericks)

    Hello

I'm Italian, sorry for my bad English translation!

I have a HP OfficeJet 6700 Premium (e-print AiO) working out Mac OSX 10.9.1 Mavericks and connected to my MacBook Pro by ETH RJ45 wireless router.

I've written the next did not with Mac OS x 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.

I often use a special paper with the sticker from the postage label. The paper size is (l) 153mm (h) x 297mm. I set the special size in the layout with a new parameter.

Now, when I print the page by Illustrator or other SWs, the printer show me on the LCD the following alert: "the printer cannot print because the page size is different by size of page checked sensors!"

But if I set the printer layout in A5 format, the printer get the impression quite rightly!

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you

    Salvatore (tothus)

    Hi tothus aka late.

I understand your photos that you use Airprint to install the software and drivers and you need to use the HP software.

Add the printer to the system preferences, print and Scan

    1. Click on the Apple icon > System Preferences > print and scan.
    2. Click on the small symbol.
    3. Select Add another printer or Scanner

    4. Select the printer you are adding and next to the 'use' to choose the printer driver.  You will find Airprint is selected by default, click Airprint to open the drop-down list and choose your driver.

You should now have the HP software installed.

I sincerely hope this helped. Please let me know how it goes for you.

    Kind regards
