  drivers and ask in their forums.

  The software for your printer is available through Apple Software update, and there is no installer available on HP.com. thjat means that use you a bad driver or a one that is not intended for Yosemite.

  Remove incompatible software using Uninstall HP under Applications > Hewlett-Packard, then follow these steos to install the printer on your Mac:

  I've read about the software problem that you encounter on your system Windows 8.1, as printing software does not work for you, and you see the error "the HP Imaging device cannot be found". I have some ideas in mind which may help you!

  Perform an uninstall of level 3:

  If the software has been downloaded and extracted to your system:

  1. press Windows key + R and type %temp% enforcement and press enter

  2. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356) (if there is more than one, choose the most recent folder)

  3 open the Util folder

  4 open the CCC folder

  5. run the L3uninstall.exe

  6. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

  7 run the Accessories\ System Tools Disk Cleanup

  8. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

  9. try a clean boot that turns off all startup programs. Disable all firewall and anti-virus too and try the installation again.

  10 download the drivers and full software features: here

  11. once the printer is installed, go back to the clean boot instructions to re-enable the startup programs.

  I would like to help you today to solve fax problems you are having with your HP Officejet 4500 all-in-One Printer. Send questions you are experiencing may be due to static interference on your fax line. Fax is old analog technology. Phone companies today use digital lines. Digital lines are OK to use, but it is much more static noise on telephone lines and transfer on the line rate is much faster. If your fax machine detects any static noise on the line of the fax machine may fail because of a communication error. In addition, the faster transmission rate can cause bits of data by fax to lose. This fax data loss can cause failures of communication by fax or incomplete faxes. I will guide you through some settings on your HP Officejet to account for the interference on the telephone line. If your fax is always the number 1 problems given, there may be a setting that needs to be adjusted on the receiver end fax.  Please follow the steps below.

  Step 1: Disable the OPTION Error Correction Mode:

  1. Click on the Setup (key) button on the front panel of your printer
  2. To Fax settings on the right arrow and click OK
  3. Arrow in the right Mode of Error Correction and click OK
  4. Turn OFF Error Correction Mode, then select OK

  Step 2: Slow down the fax:

  1. Click on the Setup (key) button on the front panel of your printer
  2. To Fax settings on the right arrow and click OK
  3. To Fax speed on the right arrow and click OK
  4. Turn Fax speed to Slow and click OK

  Step 3: Activate the Image on fax send report:

  1. Reselect the button Setup (key)
  2. Arrow to Print the State of law, and then select OK
  3. Arrow Image Fax Send report to the right and click OK
  4. Turn on the Image Fax Send report to YOU , then select OK

  Step 4: Check tone or pulse dialing:

  1. Click on the button Setup (key)
  2. To Fax settings on the right arrow and click OK
  3. To tone or pulse right arrow and click OK
  4. Make sure that the tone is selected

  Now that the settings have been adjusted please try send a fax again to see if the problem has been resolved.

When I look at 'Printers and Scanners' under ' preferences system, the printer is (HP Deskjet 6980), but not the scanner (HP Scanjet 4010) and I can not add the scanner to the list. " I am able to print items off the computer, but cannot scan and print. When I printed a report on the printer page, it says that it its status is "offline." Any suggestions?         Thank you!

  I saw that you encounter a problem when you try to add your Scanjet G4010 to your Mac up-to-date 10.9.2. If you have not yet downloaded the installation for the Scanjet, please do it here: HP Scanjet ICA software for Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9.

  If that is not always do the trick, follow these 2 steps and add the printer and back scanjet.

  My Officejet 4500 G510a worked fine with my Windows 7 computer.  For my new computer Windows 8, I downloaded the HP driver and print and copy fine but will not scan.  It is connected by USB cable.  Windows Fax and Scan does not scan, or painted.  I uninstalled all the HP software and reinstalled twice still cannot scan. Each time, after you have reinstalled the driver, he begins to scan and hangs up with a part of the preview showing.  I received a message "HP cue scanning flow component has stopped working".  I ran HP print and scan doctor and he hangs up in the pilot audit section and will not go further. Any help would be appreciated

  Very interesting that moving to another port USB changed behavior.   You have all the other USB devices connected to the computer as well?   If so, don't remove the behavior change?

  You happen to have access to a USB 2.0 hub any?  Often if there is problems with the USB ports or the USB chipset on a system, putting a hub USB 2.0 between the device and the calculation can solve or improve connectivity.

• Cannot be set as the default printer Officejet 4500

  I installed a printer wireless Officejet 4500 on Windows XP and it works fine. On a Windows 7 computer that is connected to the wireless network I "added" the OJ4500 that has been properly installed. Although it appears in the "Printers and faxes" window it can be defined as printer by default and does not appear in the list of printers, when printing. I downloaded and installed the drivers from HP, but still I am unable to access the printer under Windows 7.

  Download and install the drivers from the HP website solved the problem on the Windows Starter machine.  No need for other answers.

  I just got a printer wireless HP OfficeJet 4500 (CN547A). This printer seems to be all the time and won't in powersave mode. After discussions with tech support, my understanding is that if no print jobs are sent to the printer at the end of an hour, the printer is supposed to enter powersave mode. I do not understand why it remains online in the State of full power all the time. I first asked HP support about this and they had me unplug the printer and press on and press and hold the # and 3 while plugging him back in. That seemed to put the printer in mode powersave, but then as soon as I printed something, that he would stay in line other times, as in, it would still be online in a status of full power several hours after it printed something. The next technician I chatted with that suggested I have unplug the printer, then press and hold the # 6 button while plugging back in. That was exactly equals the previous reset method. Why the printer is not entering powersave mode?

  I tried unplug him and plug in now # 3.  This just reset the values by default, so I need to hang it on the wireless connection.

  I did a scan and he returned to power in 20 minutes saving mode.  However, I printed a test page (google.com search), and it has been two hours and not yet in power save mode.

  AFAICT, there is no firmware available to upgrade the Officejet 4500.

  Just bought my Officejet 4500 to replace a Lexmark work. I say this because to me, this seems to indicate that the USB/connection cord also works.

  Installation goes very well without any problems. Connected the USB cable when prompted by the instructions in the CD. Printer will scan and copy correctly, but not print from the Internet or a computer (MS Office) document. It will also analyze part of an example of MS Paint, which would indicate the communication is not the issue.

  Printer HP diags indicate no problems. Diags MS Printer show everything works correctly.

  I use Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. When asked to print, there is no error message, just no response from the device.

  Anyone has any ideas on this?

  After a phone call from 3 hours to support with a good person, I could barely understand , it was finally established that it is my Dell computer that is at fault. For some reason when the installation is complete, the computer will only recognize the device as a FAX. There must be a problem with the software of the printer on my computer.

  The printer works perfectly when connected to my wife's Acer laptop.

  Now I need to go to another and spend several hours with someone else I can barely understand and try to solve the problem of Dell.

  I'll mark the "Solved" post for now as there seems to be nothing to do with the HP printer. But I'll post back if/when I know what is the problem and how to fix it... just in case someone else may have the same problems.

  Thanks to their participation in Forums of HP! I see by your post that the complete documents are not printing from different applications. I will definitely do my best to help you.

  Try a self-test printing material in order to exclude a hardware problem: print a Network Configuration Page.

  If you haven't already done so, repair the permissions of the drive on the Mac:

  • Repair disk permissions:

    • Click on your desktop so that it is written next to the Apple Finder icon, and then click Go (you'll see it next to the Finder after file, edit and view).

    • In the context of Go, click Applications.

    • In Applications, select utilities.

    • In the Utilities folder, you will see the disk utility, double-click on this icon to open the disc utilities.

    • Click on your hard drive, and then click first aid. Click Run to allow it to run.

  Reset the printing system:

  Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer deleted can be re-added later by clicking the sign plus (+) symbol.

  Click on the Apple icon and then click on System Preferences.

  Click on Printers & Scanners.

  Make a right click (or Ctrl + click) in the left white side panel, and then click Reset printing system.

  Click OK to confirm the reset.

  Type the name and the correct password.

  Click OK to reset the printing system.

  Then click on the sign to add the driver, highlight the printer +. (you may need to click the drop down menu to select the name of the printer) Then click the Add button.

  Let me know how recorded the name of the printer in the Printers & Scanners window.

• Printer Officejet 4500

  This is my 3rd or 4th HP printer, but can be my last.  Since the time that it is out of the box (March), it's a headache.  Went through these steps with Tech support able to make it work, but every time I try to print, I get the error messages that the Tri color cartridge is not installed properly, etc (this is their original HP cartridge) - same there is a paper jam when there is no paper through the machine.  I had so many times this cartridge.  I cleaned them both with distilled water, checked to see if everything is wobbly with a flashlight (not that I can see) and am about to just Chuck.  Sometimes if I press on the door a little, it will show.   The print quality is not good, either - many bars which I think may be because the cartridges are not aligned more.  Suggestions until I get the ladder, take it on the roof and he plant more?

  Thank you for your response.  I was finally so frustrated yesterday morning that I bought a new cartridge and replaced the one supplied with the machine.  So far, this seems to have solved the problem.  I appreciate you taking the time to answer and try to help me.   I hope that this solves my problems!

  I had to restore my laptop running WIN 8.1 and restored but not the Assistant of printer drivers.  Is it possible to reinstall/download it without reinstalling from the installation CD (which is for WIN 7)?
