  At the same time, I bought my MacBook Pro about 4 years ago and my HP Photosmart C4780. Recently I replaced my hard drive, so I now have the OS of Mac OSX version 10.9.4.   Are you sure?  Try to save it on your desktop - give it a distinctive name, so you can easily find it.

  Since the installation of Lion, I can no longer connect wirelessly with Macbook Pro my wife.  We have AT & T U-Verse with their 2Wire Modem/Acess Point.  I deleted the drivers and installed via software update.  I can connect USB and the only instructions I see HP for the addition of a wireless option is to add a Hello type for your printer?  I don't see this option.  I saw something on an SSID is perhaps too long.  I'm not sure that I can change it on AT & T device.  I ran the test wireless to the printer and all past.  I also checked to make sure that the mac is on the same network, and it was.

  After the reboot the 2wire driver Hello appears now and I added it and it works now.  Thanks for your help on this

  Hello I have recently connectedmy Photosmart 7660 on my G5 mac OSX 10.5.8 running. I made sure that I deleted all of the old files HP from my hard drive. I also unplugged my printer (and it turned off). I then powered back on my Mac, re-connected the printer and turned it on. Once the printer is on, I ran the new OSX software update that updated the photosmart software (installed etc.). Now my problem is when I print a document, I get an error message in the Middle staing impression that the print job was arrested. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.   Basically, I did what you said now about the CTRL key and selecting Remove the hp printer (I had previously deleted all of the other old hp drivers etc.). Then I turned off the printer and it disconnected from my computer. Then I reconnected the printer and turned it on. Then I went to the apple icon and ran the software update. Then downloaded and installed the HP package through software update. Then, when you are prompted to set up / choose the appropriate model / driver I noticed before I skipped this step and just assumed that the installer would automatically choose the correct printer / driver. When I skipped this step already, I came across stop printing and not being able to see ink level etc. So this time I scroll through the list of printers / drivers and chose model 7660 closest number which was 7550 I also noticed that all the models in this range seem to use the same driver who was Gutenprint v5 1.3. so I thought it must be the correct driver for this printer hp group to address number. I've been running non-stop printing since then without any problems and I can also check and see my ink levels now. Hope this helps someone else with the same questions...

  I have a HP Photosmart printer and drivers moved not on my new MacBookPro that has Mac OSX 10.8.4

  I am unable to find all the drivers on HP support for this OS. The drivers installed without problems on my recent iMac that had OS x Lion. Can someone help me with an answer. I can use the printer wirelessly with my iPad, 3rd generation, Mini iPad and iPod touch 4th GEN Any help wolud be fantastic.

  I saw that you encounter a problem when you try to add your Scanjet G4010 to your Mac up-to-date 10.9.2. If you have not yet downloaded the installation for the Scanjet, please do it here: HP Scanjet ICA software for Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9.

  If that is not always do the trick, follow these 2 steps and add the printer and back scanjet.

  I have a Mac OSX version 10.8.1. I can't print with my HP photosmart c4680, even though I have uinstalled and reinstalled the software several times. I tried to turn on and off the printer sharing, and nothing works. I had to print once, until I unplugged it from my computer. When I tried to use it again, it did not work.

  Should I go and buy a new printer? It is only 2 years old, but I'm frustrated non-compliance.

  How long the used USB cable?

  Please ensure that it is not longer than 2 - 3 m long.

  As ewll make sure that it is directly connected to the Mac and not via a USB hub or extention.

  If you have an iMac, make sure that the cable connected to the back of the MAc and not not the Apple keyboard ports that are not powered.

  Then I would try to replace the USB cable, it seems more likely a problem with IPC communication system.

  Restart your Mac, then try to run the software update as follows:

  First of all make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to your Mac or on the same network.

  Click on the Apple icon, then select about this Mac.
  Click software update, and then click the Store from the top of the indicated window menu and click on reload the Page.

  Be sure to install any update HP or Apple, then check for the difference.

  If it persists, try manually install the package below:

  I understand your photos that you use Airprint to install the software and drivers and you need to use the HP software.

  Add the printer to the system preferences, print and Scan

  1. Click on the Apple icon > System Preferences > print and scan.
  2. Click on the small symbol.
  3. Select Add another printer or Scanner

  

  4. Select the printer you are adding and next to the 'use' to choose the printer driver.  You will find Airprint is selected by default, click Airprint to open the drop-down list and choose your driver.

  

  You should now have the HP software installed.

  I have a Photosmart C4580. I upgraded my Mac OSX Lion book about 6 months ago. Reinstalled the printer software and had no problems. It is up to AT & T Uverse sent me a new gateway/modem. I have of course with the new wireless modem get the printer connected to the network. I couldn't get this to work so I decided to uninstall and reinstall the printer. When I go to the HP website there are no drivers for this printer for Mac OSX. I'm not a tech savvy person, btw. Thank you.

  It seems that you have installed the printer twice and there is some sort of bug with the printer 'offline '. I would just move forward a delete it if everything works as it should with the new printer 'lazy '.

  My printer, which worked very well last week suddenly stopped working. It is not configured for the wireless, but is connected by cable to my Mac (OS 10.6.8). The printer is turned on, the computer attempts to send that message printer is put on the queue. Then it disconnects. But befoee does, it does not print the last piece (5 lines), text file, then a line of gibberishg.

  I went through the page, deleted in case of problem, printer drivers according to the instructions but then realized I couldn't add them back again. The Mac can't "see" the printer with the USB cable. And there seems to be no way to add them to the "add a printer". It is empty.

  So now, I can't even all print.

  Would appreaciate any help I can get. Thank you.

  Try to restart the Mac and printer and check any change.

  So make sure that the most recent driver is installed by clickign the icon Apple, then software update.

  If this does not help solve the problem try to reset the system as follows:

  * Be aware that reset the printer system will eliminate any existing queue and reset all custom settings driver.

  Click on the Apple menu and then click on System Preferences.
  Select print & fax.
  Right click (or Ctrl + click) your product with the Printers list in the left panel and then click on reset printing system.
  Click OK to confirm the reset.
  Type your user name and password.
  Click OK. The printing system resets.

  Now go to Applications > Hewlett-Packard > utility device, follow the HP installation wizard and try to print again.

  I recently bought a LaserJet 5100dtn. I work with Mac OSX Yosemite (10.10.3). I can't get my OS to recognize the duplex printing option. I have the duplexer attached to my printer, and I know it works because it printed a test page. I have the setting the paper handling > Duplex > WE * however, it keeps printing sided pages.

  The problem is maybe that my printer settings have "duplex" grayed out.

  

  I wonder if there is a problem with the printer driver? This printer is no longer manufactured (I bought mine used), then maybe there is a problem with the driver communicates duplex printing features?

  Any help you could offer would be great! Thank you in advance!

  The slight difference for users of Yosemite (this is an another OSX) is:

  Go to Printers & Scanners > click the printer you want to print duplex (in this case LaserJet 5100) > in the main window, click Options & supplies > leOptionsonglet > duplex unit.

  If you manually check 'Duplex' then 2-sided will not be grayed out when this printer is selected.

  Problem solved!

  I just ordered an Officejet 7610, (I'm waiting for the delivery). I'm in MAC OSX Mavericks, OSX10.9.1. Installation is not driver support. Does that mean that it won't work?
