C6180 ink SYSTEM FAILURE error message
IF ANYONE CAN HELP WITH THIS ERROR MESSAGE? FAILURE of the SYSTEM of INK 0xc19a0035
I HAVE A C6180 ALL IN ONE. IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE FACT
THAT I HAD REPLACED A CARTRIDGE A MONTH AGO... HP brand AND NOW GET this MESSAGE.
I RE-SET, CLEANED ALL THE CARTRIDGES AND TALKED WITH HP ON THE PHONE 2 X. IT WORKS AGAIN FOR A SHORT PERIOD, THEN THE INK SYSTEM FAILURE ERROR APPEARS AGAIN.
HP said I need a new? It worked very well until this and always does this for awhile after you reset it, so can't understand
Why should I go out and get a new one for this problem. I hope someone can help! Thank you!

I have a HP Photosmart Plus, product # CN216, model # B210a. I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.5
Today, I turned on my printer and got the error message "ink system failure 0xc19a0020 please turn printer Off and then on.
So I did, but still got the error. So, I did the troubleshooting, which told me how to clean the print head. I've done 3 times, but I still get the error. I unplugged the power cord from the printer, then the wall, waited, then reconnected. I still get the error.
I use the printer at least once a week, so he hasn't been sitting unused for too long. I have not changed anything or whatever installed lately. The ink cartridges have ink.
Anything else I can try? The replacement print head is $72!
Sorry, but generally, this can be a bad head of printing or bad cartridges. Here is a link that will help you with this problem, even if you did most of these steps.
If you have already replaced the front print heads and you return to this same stage, it would be a bad printer and maintenance needs.
I have a printer HP Officejet 6500 E709n. I get the following error message when I turn on the printer:
'Ink system failure. "Please turn printer off, then on.
I then do as instructed and turn the printer off, but then the whenever I re - turn on the printer, I get the same error again. The printer is now fixed to the top and none of the buttons on the printer works except the Power button on / off.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you can not use your HP Officejet 6500 Wireless. You get a printer fault to "turn printer off and then on again" you did without success.
Please perform a hard reset:
1. disconnect all cables and cards of memory in the printer. Unplug the power cord, directly from the back of the printer when the printer is still on.
2. unplug the other end of the power cord.
3. If there is a power supply on the power cord, disconnect one end and reconnect it.
4. at the end of 60 seconds, plug it directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector or battery backup).
5. connect the power cord to the back of the printer.
6. the printer should automatically power back upward. If not, turn it on with the power button.
7. try to make a photocopy (if your printer is an all-in one) before you connect the cables from the printer.
8. connect the other cables needed to the printer.
It is recommended that the printer is plugged directly into a wall socket to ensure a uniform level of power. Sometimes, when plugged into a surge protector or battery backup, the quantity of electricity is not received by the printer. Power problems can cause printing problems. It is particularly important to be plugged directly into a wall outlet with wireless connectivity problems, "sleep mode" and other power problems.

OK, I have an old printer (C6180 (Yes this old)) I had to put in stock for a long overseas military tour. When I finally returned, I swapped the ink cartridges and get an error code of 0Xc18a0406. It is not a removable print head, so I am at a loss to try to clean it. Any suggestion or help would be appreciated.

First message was "cartridge after expiry." I turned and turn on the printer. Tried to print again. New message has been
'Ink system failure', I bought a new cartridge, installed, tried again, still 'ink system failure '. The printer is a 3 in 1, black Plus 5.
About 4 years.
Regarding your question, here is the troubleshooting HP article.
Ink system failures are usually in the ink cartridge, the print head or in the printer. Since you have already replaced the ink cartridge, the problem lies in the print head or the printer.
The C7250 print head is permanent and cannot be replaced or cleaned outside the aircraft so there is not much we can do with working with her.
Go through the article and follow the steps in the order
1. remove the cartridges and install it
2. use the automatic printhead cleaning utility (sometimes you may need to run this several times)
3 reset the product
4 maintain the product
If the first three steps do not resolve the problem, there is not much to service other than the product. Return ticket if the first three steps help or do not help, maybe we can think outside of the box before going to the service, but we'll see if the standard general steps work.
I tried to print a doc then do not use this printer for over a year. The ink system failure message appeared when I turned on the printer, so I replaced all the old cartridges with new ones. The message persists, and I can not print even a sample or Test page. My page to print remains in the queue. I tried to reset several times with the method of disposal of recommended power cord. Always with the same result, ink system failure error: 0xc18a0206. This machine is maybe just too old. After spending over $ 100.00 on new cartridges that would be very disappointing. After installing new ink cartridges provided with HP C7280 all in one ink system failure error 0xc18a0201 occurred. Cannot find reference to this anywhere error code. What is this and how can I fix it?
I found this solution for... C5180 ink system failure, and assumed/hoped the firmware was the same... it worked!
Press and hold the "left arrow" key
Press the "Setup" key and release both keys.
Display should say "enter special key Combo".
Press and release the OK"" button.
1. press and release the right arrow button until the display shows "Menu of theSystem Configuration'.
2. press and release the OK"" button.
3. the display should say "hardware failure status". If it isn't there already, arrow above for "Hardware failure status"
4. press and release the OK"" button.
5. display should say "hardware failure status: clear." Press OK to Erase".»
6. press and release the OK"" button. Message becomes " failure State material (breakdowns) resolved." Press Cancel to continue.
7. press and release the "CANCEL" button as many times as necessary, so that, either the "Welcome to Photosmart Express" screen appears, or, the " failureof the System ink " appears. DON'T TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.
8. using the power button, turn the power off and unplug the power cable from the back of the printer output and the wall.
9. wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first, and then to the back of the printer
10. turn on the device. The printer may display message "USE POWER BUTTON CLOSING the PRINTER" followed by "Press OK TO CONTINUE". Press OK.
11. If the printer has already initialized, then go to the next step. If this is not the case, the printer will start the "ONE TIME INK PROCESS of INITIALIZATION". Allow this process to do and not to interrupt. Once the initialization is completed, the printer print a Diagnostic page.
12. to verify printer functionality print a PAGE of TEST car. If SELF TEST prints, then printer is ready for use.
NOTE: If the error is still there, or reoccurs replace the unit.
Printer has stopped printing in black ink: get a gray tone or no impression. Get higher up the ink system failure error.
Reviewed the help pages and have installed new black ink cartridge, check the squares of all the cartridges, clean the print head menu Tools, removed the print head and cleaned manually, unplug the power supply etc. Considered the responses on the forum pages. A ran HP print and Scan doctor. I consider when buying a new print head or a new printer, any other suggestions? It's only black ink. (1) get a pan and put 1/2 "of very hot (not boiling) water in the bottom.
(2) remove all ink cartridges, then remove the print head Assembly.
(3) gently put the printhead nozzles down in water and soak for 5 minutes.
(4) remove the print head and gently dry the electrical contacts.
(5) replace the print head in the printer and then reinstall the ink cartridges.
'ink system failure' error with code oxc19e0023 on have a HP Photosmart Premium all-in - One Printer - C309g - did all resets and reinstall the ink also tried to replace ink with new carts HP... frustrated please help

In the past - after getting this message - I have cleaned the ink system with alcohol & it start printing (although in black only, the color did not work since the first cartridge change for more than a year).
I have it cleaned twice now nd that it still does not print I'm so use this research help and communicate with you.

Photosmart Premium left me very unhappy. I stopped to buy HP more than a decade and now I'm wishing that I would have stuck with my decision. Myself and 3 other friends have bought these printers and both of us have had problems.
I went through the steps, had a new printhead ink shipped, walked and steps with new tech mistakes really falling. Last person said they were doing an interview, so that they couldn't transfer me. Now I remember and of course no sequel to our conversation has been documented, so they want to go through it all over again. Two hours of technical support, my mother and three calls not a printer to work. I can't believe I bought two of these things. It's obviously bad (probably where the print head comes in contact with the cart / I guess). I am disappointed by the printer and support at this point. I refuse to continue to waste hours of my time talking to representatives of phone asking me to do the same thing again and again. I can just this thing replaced?
The order number for the replacement print head and ink cartridges that were shipped to me is KEB489-01. I have provided a phone number and email address.
So I lost another hour talking with support just to send me a refurbished printer to replace my printer $300 + with less than 10 pages printed on it. Not cool. Had to share all the trays and the stuff of my original machine, because the replacement came not with them (I had not packed it again for good). So of course I had to file this stuff at a Fedex in 3 days, so that they don't charge me for the price of a NEW printer. Absolultely horrible experience. I bought this for my mother, who never wants another HP product again (his words). Good thing I kept his gun hung for her, otherwise she would have been dead in the water for the print jobs. I'm not sure why this guy who kept telling me he was a supervisor (must be a big problem there) was surprised that she was angry that she had a Refurb in lieu of a NEW printer. He told her that if the printer was less than $100 that they would have just replaced. Huh? For the record, I'm not new at this. I did PC support since 1989 and currently hold a COMPUTER job with a Fortune 500 company. I did RMA with most computer component companies major, their distributors, etc. As a regular user, I am very disappointed with HP. Between this printer problem and the problems I had when I went from Dell to HP laptops, I think twice before you buy HP again.
SOLUTION: Pray that your printer works (one on two of my friends did and works very well). If not, immediately take it back to the place of purchase. Otherwise risk of lack of hours out of your day dealing with support, shipping, etc. and reception of material used back.
