  You must download the .exe, the boot.wim and install.wim file in the same place. Run the .exe file and it will extract all the files in a folder called Vista. Start Windows install will be now (cancel Setup).

  Select Yes when the prompt for the Volume name, and select ok. Finally, wait for it to make the .iso file.

  Once you have the .iso file, they may want to use the Microsoft .iso to USB/DVD tool to create a bootable DVD or USB flash drive (USB FlashDrive recommendations, see here).

• WARNING blackBerry Smartphones: 3 rd Party Applications and new software update

  Warning about the 3rd party applications: I recently downloaded 5-10 3 rd party applications on my Blackberry Curve 8310.  All seemed well for the first day or two, but then after that my phone started himself reboot over and over again.   ... NOW, my phone is restarting again.

  DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE! IT OF ME GIVIN SUCH A MASSIVE HEADACHE! I AM READY TO THROW MY PHONE OUT THE FREAKING WINDOW. SERIOUSLY... WHAT GIVES?

  UPDATE:

  Well, I figured out how to get my Notepad, password keeper, and the brick breaker back... and since I have redownloaded the software and restarted my phone, everything seems to work very well.  If you just installed the new software and you miss now your Notepad, password keeper and brickbreaker icons, here's what you do:

  1. open your BB Desktop software and connect your phone.

  2. click on Application Loader

  3. click on start under Update Applications

  4. click on Check For Updates in the lower right corner of the screen. This will redirect you to the page of the BB software.

  5. from this page, you want to click on Blackberry Device Software in the left column.

  6. click on the button update now.

  7. click on the update button. This will pull up the BB Desktop.

  8. from this screen, click Options. The device Application selection page should open.

  9. here you want to scroll down and tick all that you are missing as: Notepad, password keeper, etc.

  10. click Next.

  11. click on finish

  You are only halfway done... Now you must do the following to get your old memos and passwords that have been stored in these dos applications.  I hope that you have a backup that you saved before installing the new software.  Otherwise you are about to lock but if you have it, it's what you do:

  1. in the main menu of the BB Desktop click on the backup and restore

  2. click on advanced, on the right.

  3. in the upper left corner of the screen click on file, then open.

  4. search your saved backup file, and click on the one you want.

  5. now, in the left column, you will see roughly the same thing that is in the right column. You can click on those that you are missing, one by one and add to your phone by clicking on the ">" arrows.  Specifically, you will want to click on: Blackberry Messenger, Memo Pad Options, memos, guard password, password Keeper Options, tasks, tasks Options.

• Micrsoft tech removed from computer viruses. Now no sound. Installed the new driver and new software with no results. Help

  Virus called 2012 unregistered version XP itself connected to the computer.  At four different technicians and 12 hours to remove.  Last technician manually deleted and deleted all empty folders.  A finished, no osund available.  Since it is not a virus problem tells me that I'm on my own. Computer model is GQ6070 sold by Fry's electronics.  Their support staff are not interested to help (will not respond to the e-mail).  Download and install software RealTek AC97 Audio Driver and Codecs.  Still no sound.  Any ideas?

  Step 1: Try to update Windows Update agent such as documented here:

  Step 2: Restart the Windows Update service. To do this, follow these steps:

  a. the logo-press Windows Key + R to open the run.
  b. type services.msc in the run box, and then press ENTER.
  c. right click on Windows Update in the Services management console and then click on stop.
  d. After Windows Update, click Windows Update and then click Start.

  Step 3: Wait for Windows Update to start and check the Windows Update Agent is updated. For more information on how to check what version of the Windows Update Agent is installed, go to the section 'How to check which version of the Windows Update Agent is' in this article of knowledge Microsoft (KB).

  How to check what version of the Windows Update Agent

  1 open the %SystemRoot%\System32 folder. SystemRoot is the folder in which Windows is installed. For example, the folder % systemroot is C:\Windows.
  2 right-click c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll and then click Properties.
  3. click the Details tab and look for the version number of the file.

• Has anyone seen a fax USB modem that works with Windows Fax and Scan?

  So far I'm 0 for 2.  PC Fax modems seem to be a lost art.  A few months ago, I tried a USB fax modem and tested the receipt of the fax.  The modem answers the phone, the fax sender starts the transmission and... nothing happens.  Eventually, the sender times out with an error.   Same computer, same Windows Fax and Scan software, with an old modem connected to a serial port, all works well.  Modem manufacturer was not able to help.

  And now the same problem with another PC, the modem is different, different situation.  This time I don't have an easy fallback to a serial port.

  And that leads to my question - no matter that matter where in fact seen a fax-modem USB in the field send and receive faxes using Windows Fax and Scan on Windows 7, and if yes, what was the make and model?

• Software Windows 7 and HP Image Zone

  I have a new Pavilion s5212y w/Windows 7 and a HP printer Photosmart 8450 that comes with the HP Image Zone software for image editing.  The software is not supported by Windows 7, will not be installed (tells me to upgrade op - sys).  Is there a work around for this or the software will be compatible with the new system?  Don't get me wrong, the printer works well, it's just that I can't use the software to edit photos before printing.  Thank you.

  I have HP Image Zone to work with Windows 7.

  1 login as administrator

  2. load installation CD.  Find setup.exe, do a right click, select troubleshoot compatibility.  Accept the XP mode.

  3. start the program.

  4. it takes some time to install the program.  Be patient.

  5 ignore all messages that the program may not have install correctly.

  6. once the program is loaded, click Next and save the settings.  Ingore the error messages.

  Once the program is loaded, you can copy the shortcut (s) of the Office of the administrator to other users or just create a new shortcut.
