Cactus

Hello!

I use FMS for months now and I love the warning and reporting system.

ATM I'm looking graphics like cactus, Multiping,... - I want to see think like:

-ping

-CPU usage

-Memory usage

,...

in a graphic fantasy, all ports of my 48 Switch ports on a single screen,...

Is this possible in FMS?

Any help/ideas welcome :-)

Hello

We offer several reports with graphs. Who also offer what you mentioned. Take a look in the section reports and I hope it will have what you are looking for.

Thank you

  • App installed fish cactus, can you connect is no longer at the admin page

    Hi all

I'm having a problem where after I installed app Cactus of fish I can no longer connect to my admin page. Previously, go to myaddress:80 would bring me to the admin page. Now only myaddress:80 / admin leads me to the admin page and it crashes until he tells me "ReadyNAS 'Admin Page' is in offline mode." I guess it's a problem with the apache configuration (the system uses apache, OK?) I have SSH access, so if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

  • ASA WebVPN SSO with cactus

    Hello

I use SSO with HTTP POST parameters for SINGLE sign-on for web applications behind my ASA.

I am currently playing with cactus.

    My settings are:

    action = login

    login_username = CSCO_WEBVPN_USERNAME

    login_password = CSCO_WEBVPN_PASSWORD

    Realm = ldap

The connection works fine, but after the post OFFICE, the Web server sends a HTTP "302 OK code." Normally, it should be "302 moved" or "200 OK".

The ASA does not include what to do, to do nothing and replies with an error "Server is not available >.

When I press the 'Home' button and click again on the bookmark of cactus, I'm connected to cactus. It seems that there is a cookie or something missing.

When I do exactly the same with a browser, it sends after the "302 OK" normal GET and I am connected.

Me seems a mistake in cactus, but I'm not also sure if ASA does not respond properly?

Also, when I change the type of bookmark of https to post, it works! BUT: post plugin only supports http and not https, so my connections has send in clear on the internal network.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

  • Splunk, cactus...

I'm looking for something that will provide an inside view of what our virtual machines are and what resources they use.  I know not overview vCenter performance is supposed to do this, but our "graphics not can be loaded ' and VMware to turn off and remove all the VM is not an option.

Did someone using Splunk or cactus?  Can these utilities report several statistics on several virtual machines or are you stuck with a single report by stat by VM?

Also, is there anything else I should look at?

HP Photosmart C7280 All in One.

This 3 year printer seemed to install OK when I it connected via a wireless modem/router.

My turn and Lap Top printed ok for months. They use Windows 7 64-bit.

Recently when the printer was left off for a few days all its lights started to blink.

If I disconnect and reconnect it the power and cable modem/router, the printer works ok again until it is turned off.

The lights will start to Flash.  Also, I'm getting 2 error messages on blue screen when the power is off and the lights are flashing...

B8SIFE84 blue screen error code still appears, and once I saw the blue screen B3772734 error code appear as well.

I deleted and reinstalled the device by using the printer software HP correct and downloaded and installed all the relevant printer updates that I can find. The problem still persists.

  • Blue screen - Stop 0 x 24

Original title: BSOD problem, computer won't do anything and still blue screen

Hi guys im having problems with a dell laptop inspiron 6400 using Windows XP Home SP3

went to the computer after using it don't not a while to access iTunes and got this at startup, blue screen, followed by the present instruction

    STOP: 0 X 00000024 (0 X 00190203, 0X8A774408, 0XC0000102, 0X00000000)

That's exactly how it reads, is higher than text pointing me to uninstall antivirus, disk defragmentation and backup utilities. It also asks me to run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart.

the problem is the PC does not start and I can't access all the foregoing, it appears windows xp for about one second then reappears BSOD with this statement. even putting reinstall XP or the driver diskette drive and the diagnostic utilities at startup it won't just past the BSOD.

someone help this tech no man, eager to save all the info on the hard drive if its cactus minded?

It's strange because the Windows XP CD does not start in any kind of verification of diagnosis.

Looks like you got the wrong CD.

You next move (assuming that this diagnosis was "doing" anything) should have been your first shot.

Create the bootable XP Recovery CD of Console.

  • power problem only with HP Pavilion ze4400

    Hi all

My trusty Pavilion ze4400 suddenly stopped responding when plugging in a power supply. Light that indicates that the battery is charging not connect anymore. I can't make it work without a power supply because the battery has almost completely lost his ability. There is no problem with the operating system or the hardware, I was still working with a few hours ago.

My question is: is there a way I can get my data from the hard drive? Perhaps by removing the disk hard drive itself? I searched with the envelope and even down it does not seem easy.

Is there anything else I can try? I thought about putting a new battery in there, but it must be already loaded and I can't load it with my laptop.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

This could be a number of things.

    (1) the charger is dead. The Chargers do not last forever. If you know someone with a similar laptop that uses the SAME charger, try this to see if it helps. Make sure the charger is the same voltage, same polarity and is the same size plug.

    (2) the laptop has a hardware failure. Where your charger plugs into the laptop may be damaged by the cord pulled in a clumsy direction. Over time this can happen as well due to the odd tug on the cord. If this is the case, you will need to have it repaired by a technician.

    (3) the unit is cactus. There is also the chance of the machine is dead. Does not simply because he was working an hour ago, there no FRY in the last hour. These things are happening.

Get your hands on a charger that is proven to be good is the first step to find the fault.

If you find that the device is dead, you should be able to remove the HARD drive. Computer portable HARD drive are a usable user component and are usually accessible by removing the two small screws on the bottom. If the HARD drive is a SATA drive you can simply connect it to a desktop PC to access your data. You could also use and external box so that you can access the HARD drive via USB or eSATA.

If it is an IDE HDD then you need a 2.5 "IDE to IDE adapter 3.5" or an external enclosure 2.5 "IDE.

I hope that it helps anything here!

  • A Question about RAM

I have a computer Dell desktop Optiplex 990. According to the data sheet, the system is up to 16 GB of ram. I now have installed 8Gigs. If I replace and install two sticks total 20gigs 8gig, the motherboard uses the additional 4gigs or will they be wasted and unused or what. 4 X 3100 i5 running. Not sure about the motherboard. Any help appreciated.

    Please write to us.

The system has been tested to a maximum of 16 GB of RAM by Dell.

There are opportunities to extend more that the limit of the system appears not and even if the positions he would not use the extra 4 GB of RAM.

  • Shortcomings of bandwidth able to SNMP

    Hello!

I created a grapher of cacti bandwidth based on SNMP. Mark is usually 5 minutes, but I needed a resolution more so I put in place for 1 minute. It works great on everything, so the installation of Cacti is fine, but there is something odd about the statistics of the interface identified by a couple of 6506 devices.

I included a picture. The two graphs are the two ends of the same link. The graphics comes from the end of the ASR1002. The one on the bottom is taken from the other end, a Catalyst 6506 switch with a supervisor Sup720-3B.

Please note the following in the image:

    * Gaps, where both have the same question: 1 minute.

    * How the ASR as an upper limit of 130 to 140 Mbit/s. The 6506 is 180 to 200 Mbps, which seem to compensate for the shortcomings (at the lower limit of 70 to 80 MB/s).

    Additional information:

    * I used 'show statistical IG4/1 interfaces' in exact times of 1 minute to develop a table based on the reported 'Tanks In' manually and analyze on a worksheet. I found minimum and maximum extremes similar to those on the graph, instead of a smooth line as in the chart of the ASR.

    * I have seen that happen in all interfaces of the 6506. I see this in other 6506 too. ASR is not affected.

    * I tried to differentiate the interface to see the output of the two find no significant difference (KeepAlive, being the only big difference).

    * The poller interval is global for cacti, so I can't fix the separate intervals, also, I need to have the resolution of 1 minute.

    * Both ends of the link are load-interval of 5 minutes. However, because of how SNMP works, should not be just relevant to the readings of SNMP.

Someone has seen something similar? This is due to a misconfiguration or is this a limitation of the platform?

It was the only thing I could think and unfortunately not the right answer. 64-bit counters must be very well even with an interval of 1 minute. I had seen something similar with mrtg for years, with an interval of 5 minutes, anything above about 114 Mbps will give a picture as you see and changing to 64-bit counters was the difficulty.

Sorry, but I don't have any other suggestions for you (but I have to admit that I'm not familiar with the cactus).

  • Then and coming great network engineer...

    What's up guys...

I was hoping you guys could help out me. We had a team of engineers that all leave the company in a position against management. Now I have been launched or promoted in the role of administrator/network engineer. I'm really looking forward to the challenge and am very happy for the opportunity. I've done some self-training and I recently got my CCNA and CCGD and currently my CCNP.

My question is this... I want to make my own; the network and what I mean by that is, I want to change our routers and switches for maximum optimization of our network devices.

Can someone tell me what type of daily maintenance checks should I do on a daily basis to ensure that our network is running optimal?

We also lack EIGRP as our IGP and a MPLS on the WAN network. What can I check to make sure that all circuits give us all the bandwidth?

In addition, I'm not very familiar with the Cisco ASA; How will I know that it works? What should I look for?

    Thanks in advance...

I would recommend a good book for you: "The practice of system and Network Administration" by Leduc, Hogan and Chalup. It is full of good framework type of information which is not specific to the provider.

In addition, I would say in general:

    1. document your network - physical and logical (Layer 2 and layer 3).

    2. know each configuration file and mean it of all lines. Save them! (RANCE is a tool free and open source.)

    3. base your performance (i.e. WAN links and use uplink switch) with a basic snmp monitoring tool. (CACTUS is a good OpenSource tool.)

4 send your syslogs to a central tool and know what they tell you - looking messages feel and change any anomaly. On the ASA set your recording to not exceeding level 4 or 5 - level 6 (information) you will tell each connection and tcp udp only and should not be used during troubleshooting. Even if you can not read and understand each syslog at least know the typical daily volume. If typical for your network is 1000 messages a day and then one morning your 5000 find you will probably have to fix something (if your phone is not already ring). (Kiwi tool - paid version a bit more pleasant but free is available too).

Finally... NEVER stop learning. I did this for more than 30 years and almost a day happens that I don't learn something new. Good luck!

  • Cisco SG300 SNMP with cacti

I installed Cacti on ubuntu 14.04 and I'm trying to add a Cisco sg300.

If the switch is configured like this:
    Server SNMP My Office location
SNMP Server contact [email protected] / * /
SNMP community - server MyC0mmun1ty ro 192.168.10.25 view by default

I then in the settings of the device

    SwitchName Description
    The switch ip host name

    Cisco to host model router
    number of threads 1
    disable the unchecked host

shot detection snmp device operating time
    ping timeout 400
    try again to pin 1

    SNMP version 2
    Community SNMP MyC0mmun1ty
    SNMP port 161
    SNMP timeout 500
    OIDs maximum 10

from the cactus Server (192.168.10.25) if I have
Nmap - sU Pei 161 switch ip of see:
    161/udp snmp open

also on the sg300 I had to enable snmp in the security settings where ssh/telnet etc. is and have saved the config.

    But watch the cactus
    SNMP information
    SNMP error

OK, I suggest you enable the SNMP agent on unrestricted IP switch, IE replace command:

     snmp-server community MyC0mmun1ty ro 192.168.10.25 view Default

    with the command:

snmp-server community MyC0mmun1ty ro view Default

and again snmpwalk. If it will work now, your SNMP to Cacti server applications are sourcing from another IP than 192.168.10.25 (your Cacti server configured several IP?).

  • PIX 6.3 SNMP MIB, problem with the CISCO-PROCESS compilation - MIB.oid

    I am Edgar Servín

I have a cactus and got to watch the CPU of the PIX, I got the OID number:

    cpmCPUTotal5sec 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.3

I used the Cisco SNMP Object Navigator and said:

    Compile the MIB

Before you can compile CISCO-PROCESS-MIB, you need to compile the MIBS listed below in the order listed.

Download all of these MIBs (WARNING: does not include non - Cisco MIB) or view details about each MIB below.

    How can I do?

    Hi Edgar,

compiling the MIBs is necessary only when you are using HP OpenView or something similar. With the cactus, I confess that I have never used myself, but I'm pretty confident that you can just set the OID in Cacti and it will just make a periodic SNMP query for that object.

  • Order to check the ability or the bandwidth between the VPN Site-to-Site Tunnel

    Hello

How can we verify capacity/bandwidth between the end of the B-end of the site-to-site VPN tunnel.

You can't very easily. The capacity and bandwidth dependent not only on your devices, but on a lot of devices and paths between them that you have no control or visibility.

You can "show traffic" or common report on the use of interface using any performance management tool (cactus, which is gold, SolarWinds NPM, Cisco first LMS, etc..). Those usually do not distinguish between overall traffic interface and that due to virtual private networks. If you export the ASA Netflow data, you can break it down by remote IP address and which derive the use VPN. NetFlow records must be exported in tool like ntop, SolarWinds NTA or first LMS or Infrastructure to be useful.

Cisco Security Manager will query the VPN statistics periodically and you Beach individual VPN or users to gather a bunch of queries, as it does on an ongoing basis.
