Call PC solutions, allegedly on behalf of Windows/Microsoft for troubleshooting

I received a call from Jenny who asked that I perform a 'windows key + R"function on my laptop to get the license number.  She claimed that my computer has informed them that the Windows operating system has been hacked and that it would solve the problem.  I asked to know how my computer it is advised and even once, she claimed that they worked on behalf of Microsoft and Windows to deal with these issues.  I ran 'Jenny' through the gammit to act stupid as to how to do a 'windows key + R"she me extremely frustrated with me and transferred me to her supervisor"Dexter Gray. "  Dexter with her dashing British accent, speaking faster than lighting, jumped immediately told me to fill the same function, which again I've acted stupid and questioned as to how he got my cell phone number which he has had no response.  Maybe Dexter was VERY upset with me, honor the philosophy 'time is money', as I do, so once again he has given the same song and dance "was contracted to repair these problems, there are many companies that do this for them, we're just trying to help you to" as Jenny gave and rambled immediately "you just need to press windows + r".  However, as I ran Jenny and Dexter through the "I do not understand the keys on which, now, where is that key, and now again you have my number if I don't call you for a repair? and by the way Dexter I am confused at this point, as I Googled it just as we speak and there are many reports fraud and warnings of cyber crime", Dexter said those were inaccurate.  Dexter made the fatal mistake - it allowed me to walk him on his fate, he shouted: "there are many companies that make PC troubleshooting, your cell phone number is in the database, is how make us money, and is not cyber crime because we do not charge you for troubleshooting".  Currently, Dexter has revealed exactly why he called, and how he called.   After Dexter hiking hissy on the phone I let himknow that I had recorded the call and he asked if there was what he wanted to say directly to the Attorney general of the United States of America during its recording.  Dexter has hung up on me.  Now that was just rude!

It is a massive scam.  They fool you by looking at some random log file that doesn't mean anything, then ask that you need their help.  It's all wrong: Microsoft (or anyone else) NEVER will call you to give you "help" like this without to be invited.  If you want to help, it begs, person not "cold call" you like that, unless they are a scam.

Don't give them money, don't let them access your computer and bring it to the FBI.  Here are some resources and links of MVP, MVP MS SpiritX colleagues

I received a phone call from a company called e-pro solutions or e-pro revolutions asking me to enter my computer information and to allow one of their technicians access to my computer due to problems they found with my system. They say they provide an online service for Windows 7 for Windows. Can anyone tell any knowledge of this company?

    Hello

It is a scam and is not related to Microsoft.

Because it would be forbidden for anyone to access your computer without your permission, how would they be able to "identify problems" on your computer?

Ask them for their phone number and that you want to call back after you check with the FBI.

  • Solved! Driver solution Windows 7 for HP Color LaserJet 3550

I did get the printer HP Color LaserJet 3550n (3550 family) printer to be installed in Win7.  This printer is the only thing that do not start with Win7. In the printers and devices window, I tried troubleshooting, but it was a problem with the DOT4USB drivers. Similarly for the others, I managed with the following solution:

    (1) went to HP and downloaded the Vista 32-bit drivers for the 3550, the unpacking to C:\HP CLJ3550\, as suggested by the driver file.

    (2) devices printers & a

    (3) I chose the first 'device function' so .

    (4) I selected the second and third function (which were and and did the ...) for each.

    (5) I disconnected the USB to the printer, I went back to devices & Printers and selected .

    (6) I chose and installed the printer.

    (7) it wouldn't work unless I "let" Windows makes the default printer

    (8) after that it was over, I did on my favorite printer and selected, and everything worked.

    Thank you
    your advice really helped.

assign a default value for the first floor help really.

Only one extra thing is that on the main pc, you must install the driver for a new printer that should be default and a new share name.

Then on another pc with 64-bit windows find the printer and install the 64-bit driver seperatelly.

in this case, everything is perfect.

  • My father has a 'tech', calling on the phone saying he's a tech for 'Windows '.

My father is having someone who keeps calling her phone number, saying it is a tech for 'Windows '. It just tells the "no, not interested", but calls are increases and becomes boring.

It seems that it happens started him then weeks more - his card has been compromised. Some college kid in a State that he was never actually the fatal error of the charge of their expenses of college and/or books on my father's card number.  Thus, they drew him/herself.

It does not use the very net except for Amazon gift (Christmas, for example). We believe that his card was hacked through Amazon.

Anyone who is tech savvy have some comments on how to avoid scammers on the phone. How they get all these phone numbers of United States of America to start cheat? Or you have any comments about what to do when you use your card to buy something on the net?

    Thank you.

Sorry to hear that your father is being bothered by these criminals.

Seems you may need to perform a review of complete safety on him AND his computer.

    Re of piracy:

    Re "repair Windows" phone calls:

Just tell him to answer the phone politely; Once they identify themselves as what they are, tell him you say thank you and then (without hanging up) it just place the phone on a table or a Chair and let it sit there for ten minutes. 'THEY' will receive the message that it is on them.

  • Call about my pirate... Windows?

Win 7 on our laptop started running really slow the other day.  The next day, we start getting calls at home, which I answered and told me that our real Windows 7 has been hijacked and is running in two cities in the Canada. Always suspicious Internet such things, I did not believe the appellant and told her.  Now, I'm worried and need to contact Microsoft directly to have it checked... .or not?

This is obviously a scam call. If your Windows has been determined to be non-genuine, it would be just that, not authentic and you can buy a product key, you would be directed to the following Web site to:

Please run the Microsoft Genuine Diagnostics Tool then copy and paste the results into an answer here for further analysis:

Also, if your files are hidden, check out the following article on how to display the:

  • Pavilion P6520F: downgrade windows 10 for windows 7 hp pavilion p6520f

As a upgrade middle-of-the-night involuntary Windows 10 occurred, Can not stop random reboots every 20 to 45 minutes.  I give up.  I know that there is an opportunity (allegedly) to downgrade to Windows 7 in the first 30 days, but I wanted to make sure that no quirks to do with my fairly old machine.  I find Windows.old on my hard drive and my external hard drive.

Everyone does this on a Pavilion P6520F or equivalent and advice?

    Hello @marionhouse,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! The forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I read your post about the issue of upgrade and wanted to help you!  I understand that the office restarts every 20-45 minutes, and you are looking to downgrade back to the Windows 7 operating system.

If you decide to stay with Windows 10, you can try to solve the problem of reset, by examining the following document:

HP computers - the computer restarts unexpectedly (Windows 7)

If you're still having problems, then you should be able to use back to a previous generation option, in your system settings: HP Notebook PC - upgrade to Windows 10

As you say, this feature is only available for the first 28 days after the installation of Windows 10.  Once you return to your original operating system, check to see if you encounter the same problem.

Please let me know if this information helps you solve the problem by marking this message as 'accept as Solution', this will help others easily find the information they seek.  In addition, by clicking on the Thumbs up below is a great way to say thank you!
