  In our suite of applications, schemas are shared among several applications, and even when there is a deployment of an application, the other application remains upward. In this process, we are facing problems of locking. For example, when creating indexes, I get the error "resource busy and acquired with no expectations. This post is specific to this point on error when creating index (change the design of the app etc is out of reach for me currently).
  
  I was checking the "online" option of create index and I was wondering if that helps. It looks promising for me. When we have large tables (50 million more and creating indexes on them takes about 5 minutes and at the same time we have another app doing short transactions - who commit in 5 seconds, then creating index 'with the option' can help - is what I was asking.)

  I find that deletions, etc. in the second session is done (they follow by commit and they take a few seconds) with this option 'create an index online '. The option 'create index' is also no error with the error ORA-«resource busy...» ». So what a better way to create indexes to avoid locking issues? Note that is is very good for us to have the creation of index take more time for what's important is that they are not lacking in critical production deployments.
  
  Are there other possible implications (-except that it takes more time to create the index with the option 'online'), that one should be aware of? Any known issues or is there any other glitches with the creation of online index?

  OK-, this exception is not surprising. To create or rebuild an index, Oracle has a lock on the base table. He can't do that if other users perform DML on the table - it must wait.

  And before 11 g ANY other session that then tries to perform DML on the base table that oracle wait will also block.

  Simplistically: A SQL uses one or more SQL objects (tables, indexes, etc.). A SQL must therefore place a lock of data shared on the object, dictionary use, to prevent someone from edit this object (detached, update its definition, evolution, etc.).

  Think of it as a protection mechanism - for example the SQL cannot run on a table when another session suddenly drops a column of this table that uses SQL as a filter condition. Therefore the shared - lock to prevent the table change it if it is in use.

  Similarly, a change in the data dictionary (create table, alter table, etc.) must also be blocked when you change an object. However, this technique requires an exclusive lock in order to update this object in the data dictionary.   in a part of my program, there are two digital controls inside a while loop (while all values are selected, the user hitting stop). The loop is activated in a tab of my tab control, but the controls are in another tab.

  When the beginning of the loop in that it is impossible for me to switch from one tab to another, even though I placed the tab inside contol all loop. The problem is that the tab in that I'm locked is not the tab with the control buttons and stop!

My ASM Diskgroup is mounted, State resource t crsctl shows everything online, also I can connect using sys / as sysasm, my interlocutor is up and running for ASM, creating database using DBCA it gives an error 'ORA-28000 account locked' I'm confused which account is blocked because I have not yet created a data base.  Help, please

  You are referring to the escalation of locks that occurs when many locks are maintained at a level of granularity (for example, lines) and a database trigger locks at a granularity (for example, block or table).

  When the Studio generates the VM, it tries to download the JDK and Tomcat and install both on the virtual machine. The download and install tomcat works very well, but JDK package timeout on the wget due to the size of the package. The error I get in the errorlog file-

  Connection to [address] | : [Port]... connected.
  Application of proxy sent, awaiting response... Error (Connection timed) out of reading in the headers.
  Abandon.

  How can I configure studio to allow of largest wget wait times during the construction of the machine Virtuelle/Virtual Appliance.

  Most of the calls in perl code Studio wget use a 'constant' in /opt/vmware/lib/build/VADK/Constants.pm called WGET_TIMEOUT:

  void WGET_TIMEOUT {return ' - timeout 60 - tent = 1' ;}}

  during an update of the database, I lost a foreign key between two tables. The tables are called werteart and werteartarchiv_pt. Because of its size, werteartarchiv_pt is a partitioned table. The missing foreign key was a constraint on werteartarchiv_pt table referencing werteart.
  
  Some statistics on the size of the mentioned tables:
  werteart 22 MB
  werteartarchiv_pt 223 GB
  werteartarchiv_pt (Index) 243 GB
  
  I tried to create the foreign key again but it failed with the following error (apologies for the German error message):
  
  sqlplus ORA-00604: Fehler auf rekursiver SQL-ebony 1
  sqlplus ORA-01652: Temp-Segment kann nicht um 128 in Tablespace TEMPS00 judgements
  
  The statement that I used:
  
  ALTER table werteartarchiv_pt
  Add constraint werteartarchiv_pt_fk1
  foreign key (rail, werteartadresse, merkmale)
  Reference werteart (rail, werteartadresse, merkmale)
  on delete cascade

  So, the problem seems to be that Oracle needs a lot of temporary tablespace to generate foreign key and I do not know how and why.

  Because it is data validation to ensure that the foreign key are violated. If you had specified NOVALIDATE ACTIVATE in its creation then the existing data in the table should be checked and the statement must fill out instantly (future data added is enabled by the constraint).

• MFP M225dw: Printer stuck on 'initializing '.

  I bought the printer in February 2015 (less than 6 months ago) and on my network without wire (connected via surge protector which was brand new).  Everything was excellent until a week ago.  Aware of the printer went away, and when he came, he remained on the screen during initialization.  I let go 48 hours without change.  I have unplugged for an hour and replugged it in, no change.  I unplugged for 3 days and tried again, no luck.

  I came on the forums and tried the steps recommended in another post:

  Tried a hard reset (disconnect while remaining on and wait 60 seconds, reconnect to a wall outlet)-nope

  Tempted to drain power (unplug everything in now the power button / Stop button for 30 seconds)-nope

  Tried to update the software from HP Support Assistant on my computer, all updates current and no change

  I even went as far as uninstalling the printer and the software from my computer and attempt to connect via a USB connection - the solution was problematic, because the printer never have to ready mode to install the software.

  Attempted to intall for wireless network, but I get to the menu on the printer because of its being stuck on initializing wireless.

  Need help please, I'm more frustrated by the day and can't go much longer without the printer.  I invested more money to ensure that I had a reliable quality printer.  Cheaper printers does not fizz out on me this quickly!
