Camera flashes

Hi guru...

need a suggestion... Is the power of maH battery has something to do with flash response time? battery with which MA is suggested?  Which is also the best battery suggested for use on a full-time basis for a function of 2 h?

Milli-ampere hour is the amount of energy that the dough is capable of storing.  Think of this as the tank of gas on a car.  A car can have only a 10 gallon tank.  Another car might have a 15 gallon tank.  15 gallon means the car can store more 'energy' (as a gas) - but this does not necessarily mean that the gas flow out faster.

It is similarly of the batteries.

My favorite for my Speedlites batteries are Sanyo 'Eneloop' rechargeable batteries.  These are 1900 mAh batteries, but the thing TOUCHES thereon, is that they are "low self-discharge" batteries.  All batteries will be auto-dischrage if they sit unused (just sitting on a shelf... they don't even have to be connected to anything).  Some rechargeable batteries will lose 20% of their power in the first 24 hours after his indictment.  Eneloops have a _very_ slow rate of self-discharge... so slow, in fact, that when you buy the news in a store, you'll discover that they actually charge (they do not require an initial charge like most rechargeable batteries) and they will be more complete.  This means I can treat them as non-rechargeable batteries... If I leave a sit unused flash for a few weeks, that I don't have to worry that I need fee-to top the batteries before you can use it... It'll still be ready to go.

To make a quick flash recycling requires more comprehensive amperage (AMPS are essentially a measure of the rate of flow of energy... Ah is a measure of storage regardless of flow).  Canon makes an external battery for their Speedlite 580EX II flashes and 600EX-RT (not included... it's an accessory) called the "Compact Battery Pack CP - E4.   It contains 8 AA batteries (that the wedges internally only flash 4).  You can place the system in a mode where it combines both internal and external and external batteries or a hence only external batteries).  But given all these batteries significantly improves the speed of flash recycle (as well as the number of flashes you can get.)

If you REALLY need quick recycle time, you can cluster Speedlites.  Watch this video if you want to see how it works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaALe0w992E

Note that it uses sync mode high speed with these flashes because it must freeze the action with fast shutter speeds.  Sync high speed, the flash must quickly than scans of gap filling of pulse on the sensor.  The number of pulses required depends on how much faster the shutter speed is set above max flash sync speed.  If, for example, the trigger is set to 1/1000th (5 bodies max flash sync speed x more) then the flash pulse has at least 5 times to get the exposure... which means no single burst of light can spend more than 1/5th of the total capacity of Speedlites.  By the lights of clustering, each single light has to release a tiny amount of capacity stored by impulse, which means that the cluster of them easily has enough power to handle the quick actions via sync high speed shooting in direct sunlight.

The point is... you can do these things fire as fast as you need it to fire - I don't expect many of us will run out and buy six Speedlites plus a commander, but it is good to know HOW to get the system to do IF you need, the system can deliver the performance (but I think I would probably rent the additional Speedlite for filming).

I have a T5 of rebel, I just bought a few months ago. I like it as it is a great entry DSLR. I will consider the upgrade in a few months. But in the meantime, I just bought a Flash kit (not Canon) and it came with 2 flashes and tripping distance and 2 satellite receivers. Is there a way to activate the camera to use off camera Flash? I don't have any idea what Kit you bought, but he should have with a trigger that goes into the hot shoe of your camera.  When you take a picture, it sends a signal to the receiver, which tells the flash fire (s).

  • How to eliminate the reflection of camera Flash photography?

I use PSE 6.0.  In none of the two instructions manuals that I use they specifically deal with how to eliminate a camera flash reflection in the photo.  I'm sure that there is a way to do it in PSE6.0, but I don't know where to look.  Can someone direct me?

    Thank you.

    Larry,

There is no information in the field of flash reflection - it is completely blown. The Clone Stamp tool will not give a satisfying result, as the details in the contrast of lack of adjacent card area, especially in this file low resolution.

    I experimented a bit-

    • I tasted the brown color next to the flash with the eyedropper tool
    • Created a new empty layer on top of the stack
    • Accessed the tool brush, selected the library "Dry Media brushes", used brush #60 (Soft Pastel large) set at 25% opacity, then on the blank layer painted on flash area. That looks not too bad, but it lacks the detail of the map
    • Maybe you can print this, fill in the map by hand, then scan even.

Someone else can come up with another suggestion.

I have a show I want to make them feel more active. So I wanted to try to give the impression that people were taking pictures during execution.

I tried to superimpose a duplicate of opacity to 60% of the video which has been lightened and use that as a way to create the flash but the boy looks like cheese. Keyframes on 4 frames start at 100, and fades to 0. CHEEEEZYY :-o Blacks in the flash look too washed to be credible.

Here are the best answers I can offer:

    (1) why are you going to Premiere Pro for Premiere Elements?

In fact, about 90% of my work is in PrPro. The rest is in AfterEffects, pre and other NLE programs. Basically, I use those, including PrE, when they do something better than PrPro. Meadow accepts a wide range of formats/CODECS, what PrPro, so I use it to import these odd property and prepare for PrPro. Even with CyberLink PowerDirector and Magix MovieEdit Pro.

    (2) how to synchronize the audio and video (I assume that register off-camera).  I have it synchronize with the eye and the ear, and it can be tedious.  I do not have time code synchronized devices

Most of my shooting is done with capture audio camera, although by a shotgun or wireless microphones, attached generally to and taping of the camera. When I separate capture audio & video, I have slate, while I have audio and video synchronization. When I am faced with having to do manual synchronization, I will look for the audio, Visual and then and just push and listen. This ARTICLE will give you some of the mechanics of the process.

    (3) I don't know a lot about the DD 5.1 SS and it's just the point of curiosity at the present time, it may be a problem is preventing the long clips synchronized?

I do not DD 5.1 SS record, because it is a very costly and technically difficult process. There are six well designed and well placed microphones, a multichannel recorder and a panel mixer, managed by a qualified technician. My DD 5.1 SS is regarding music for my projects. Some of them is registered as a 6-channel discrete and then mixed, while some false is 5.1 and is 'created' 2-channel sources.

A large part of the work of Hollywood is 5.1 actually false, because the source material is rarely recorded in 5.1. Most are stereo and mono and is blended from multiple sources. These can be SFX, dialog, audio ambient. Most of the people is mono TO separate audio sources. Story is a good example. Some audio technicians, would consider using a stereo MIC for the narrative and would choose a mono microphone very directional, in order better to reject other audio signals.

Now, I can take a mono file SFX and pan / fade (not in terms of a 'fade', but before Transition backward location) it through and around the sound stage. I can place this Bumblebee everywhere where I want, when I want with Audio 5.1 SS. I would almost always work with the mono sources, while I have the pure signal with no clue as to the location of the source - I put in mixing.

I should add that in regards to the music mix, there are constraints on the conduct of the fake 5.1. If the equipment was not registered on several tracks as a first step, the RIAA and other organizations, greatly frown on the creation of a 'master' 5.1. That came after the experiences of the 1970s quadrophonics failure / 80 '. With music from Hollywood, recording IS made multitrack studio/Symphony room, is right and multi-track mixes up to 5.1 Audio. It will be on the only time where audio is multi-channel record, as a few environments lend themselves to make 5.1 during the initial recording. There are exceptions, such as concerts, but it's almost a genre of its own.

Sync itself and is not difficult to maintain, but that much depends on the control unit. Many distinct and recorders, cameras often find there are derivative of the timing and need for the % of 'cure '. In the old days of movies, we hung our camera to the recorder Nagra and chose clock crystal of which unit would sync. Then we had a cable between the two. Today, with digital, it seems a little more difficult. There are several threads lately in the PrPro forum on the drift of synchronization between pro-level cameras and recorders. A user found that modify its recorder of 104% output solves the problems of the OOS. Others need to test in a critical way. The clocks in sync in different equipment just is not perfectly, and there is usually no universal crystal clock that replaces the internees - as in the "good old days".

Hope this helps. If I missed something, please let me know,
