  4 holes screws for the existing 3.5 inch HDD mounting are obviously designed for a disk 3,5 '' HARD.

  I also bought this one to another computer and use as a boot drive for OS.  Works well when you have a more secondary HARD disk.  The price is right, but it's a little on the slow side from a point of view writing SSD.  Boot times are fast.

  Just keep in mind that the HARD drive that came with it is a 3.5-inch HARD drive.

  Edit: because the reader of DVD (ODD) is plugged into a SATA 3 white port, you'll want to move it to the available data black SATA port and then use the newly vacant SATA port white for your new SSD or HDD.

  While you can certainly add another HARD drive in the Bay of secondary drive (you must also support and the connection cable) you can't boot from it - only in the Bay of primary HARD drive is bootable.

  Go on everymac.com and find your model of Mac Pro for a good list of specifications and upgrade opportunities.

  I know "reliable." Limits of reliability are probably based on the envelope model and model also in car inside (not always easy to find) rather than the type of connection. Thunderbolt is probably faster but still a somewhat unusual connector to find so if you are looking for less cotly a USB3 will be cheaper and there will be more models available. Make sure you know that there is a reliable drive inside.

  I noticed that the manual indicates that it is for some models only, but unfortunately there is not any information about who they are.

  I have to disagree with you and say no.

  You cannot add a disk hard unless your x 2 is one of the special types.

  In the manual, you'll notice that even the keyboard, the coverage and the closing of the bottom are different. Take a very close look at this manual.

  Your single license allows you to have two active facilities, which means that you can have it installed and activated on both machines.  You can have the software installed on the machines as much as you want, but only two of them can be enabled at any given time.

  With regard to the use of both machines at the same time, the jury's currently on it - I had the question of clarification, but has not yet received a response.  They have rewritten recently the license agreement and the portion that explicit, that you can not use both at the same time has been either deleted or moved somewhere else, I have yet to find.

  If you mean you want to have another machine under license for someone else to use, you must purchase a new license for this other person.

  That your system is 8 years old, I suggest you these:

  (1) clone the old drive to a new drive, either 500 GB or 1 TB.  Use it as your new drive system.  Modern Sata 600 drives are 6 Gbps with 64 MB of cache memory. It will have better performance than older Sata 300 players with 32 MB cache / 3 GB/s.

  (2) your old-school, like the reader of the term 'slave' was a reference to the IDE/EIDE, cabling system.

  (3) all you need is a standard WD or Seagate 7200 RPM disk 3,5 '' hard. Both offer a free disk assistant program to facilitate the process of cloning.
