Can I configure Cisco (AIR-CAP1602I-T-K9) 1602i offline?

Hi everyone, please, I need help here.

I bought 3 Cisco (AIR-CAP1602I-T-K9) 1602i but I did not buy a controller. How can I configure then offline?

I saw in other forums, I need to change the IOS software to a stand-alone software. They suggested the ap1g2-k9w7 - tar.152 - 4.JA1.tar. I would like to know if this is the right software and if there is no problem with the license if I download and use it.

Hello

Yes, you must pass in stand-alone mode. Yes, this is the right software and you will not face any problem regarding the license.

But to download the standalone AP image of cisco, you need a CCO (Cisco connection) and the valid service contract.

Here is the final image: can download here

  • How can I use Cisco ACS to save Shell commands

Hi guys, pleeeease how can I configure Cisco ACS to do command authorization on my Cisco 3660 router. I get the accounting logs and authentication but no newspaper that show orders issued by users - shell and it's the most important paper that I need. I read materails and download articles on the site of Cisco... but the thing is still does not give me the papers.

I have these lines on my router:

    ...

    AAA authorization config-commands

AAA authorization exec default group Ganymede +.

AAA authorization commands 15 default authenticated if

AAA authorization network default group Ganymede +.

    ...

It's funny, when I turn on debugging of the authorization of the AAA on the router, it shows me every command being sent by the user on the debug log. But nothing shows under Administration TACAC + on the Cisco Secure ACS. What is responsible for this?

I recommend the software for those who need to have adapted to the management reports Security Audit logs.

  • Questions of VLAN and configuration for Cisco AIR-CT2504-25-K9 Controller

    Hello

It's my first time thanks to the Cisco wireless solutions, so I was hopping someone could help me with the following:

We just bought the AIR-CT2504-25-K9 controller with some points of access for the AIR-CAP1702I-E-K9.

    The network is as follows:

Peripheral layer 3 (managed by third parties): it's on the domain network. (VLAN by default, 1 - unidentified)

ADSL router - it's the network without comment thread. (Default Vlan 4 - tagged).

    VOIP: VLAN 5.

Both fittings go into a switch Cisco SG500 52 (Layer 2). There is a port to shared resources on the switch SG500 with VLAN 1 (Tagged) and VLAN 4 (with tag). The WLAN controller is plugged into this port trunking.

The data and management network are in the same subnet and on the same VLAN (1).

I used the wizard on the controller setup.

    There are three interfaces:

management VLAN ID 1 IP 192.168.1.2 Port 1 (configured with a gateway domain network, DHCP, etc.).

VLAN wireless identifier 4 IP 192.168.5.1 Port 1 comments (configured with modem router ADSL, DHCP, etc.).

    Virtual IP 192.0.2.1

    Proxy DHCP active overall.

    There are two wlan networks:

    (1) area - management Interface - SSID abc.

    (2) comments - comments Wireless Interface - SSID xyz (the wizard put to management, but I changed it to the wireless).

Are the AP connected to another SG500 switch which is shared resources to the switch with the controller.

Ports of the APs are connected to have only 1 VLAN unidentified. They don't have 4 VLAN Tag or not identified. However, everything seems to work as expected.

When I join the guest network (SSID xyz), I get an IP address from the router ADSL and all Internet traffic goes through him. When I connect to the domain network (SSID abc), I get an IP address from the DHCP in Windows Server and all traffic goes through the device of layer 3 (I checked the public IP address in my browser). I can't ping anything from one network to the other.

    My questions are the following:

    (1) how the guest network traffic (VLAN 4) headed the APs controller when they are connected to the ports on VLAN1? Is it because the traffic is encapsulated?

    (2) is set up correctly? After you configure the controller, I saw a note in the forums, this State I can simply enter 0 for the management of VLANS to let it not identified. However, in my case, I kept it as 1, which is the same as the switches and then the tag VLAN on the switch. In addition, the set Wizard wlan of comments to use the management interface but I changed it to use the comments interface.

    (3) when I connect to the APs of the controller, I see several options that can be configured manually. Is it necessary for this? For example, there is an option of data encryption.

    Thank you

    A

    Hello

    (1) how the guest network traffic (VLAN 4) headed the APs controller when they are connected to the ports on VLAN1? Is it because the traffic is encapsulated?

    Yes, I'm with CAPWAP:

    More information: http://lets-start-to-learn.blogspot.de/2014/08/cisco-wireless-understand...

If you want that mgmt interface must be unmarked and then put 0 otherwise you can use vlan 1.

I do not have what is configured under mgmt and comments interface, but according to the name I'll say yes, you must set the comments under comments wlan interface.

    (3) when I connect to the APs of the controller, I see several options that can be configured manually. Is it necessary for this? For example, there is an option of data encryption.

Yes, there are many things that you can configure, but I'll leave most of the default of things unless you really need to change!

    Hi Rendell,

    AIR-CAP1602E-A-K9, is a controller based 802.11a/g/n.

    Should be a function controller.

In the Cisco documentation, I have not found that "this antenna is designed to be used with Cisco Aironet access points and bridges but can be used with any device radio of Cisco Aironet 5 GHz using a reverse polarity (RP - TNC) connector."

And in stores I found 'designed for Aironet 1100, 1130AG, 1250 modular Unified Access Point Platform, 1252AG, 1252AG Point of independent access, Unified Access Point 1252AG, 1252, 1252G Unified Access Point, 1310 Outdoor Bridge/Access Point'

I was browsing the Internet and looking for throughout my general settings but I'm not able to find a way to configure the order of networks wifi on my phone, as I can with my MacBook Air (via Network Preferences > advanced > tab Wi - fi). I had to do a reset to the factory on my router settings and now my iPhone automatically connects to another wifi network in the building which is distant; and, as a result, poor reception. He will also choose my device Chromecast before my own router, so I have to go and manually choose my router every time.

Is my only option to "forget this network" for the device Chromecast and the other network wifi. Therefore, to move my router plus high in the list (and then add those two later, put further down in the hierarchy list), or y at - it a simple way to just change the order? Thanks for the help.

The two routers and switch working on speeds Auto as well as duplex automatic

Thank you for the update.  For the port connected to the access point if you connect to a PC or something else to this port things work as expected?

Also how are feed the Cisco 2602i Air?  PoE or adapter?

I would also check the roles of smart port for this interface.  The role should be to the access point that is showing a different role?  This can be checked under Smartport > settings of the Interface.

    Hello faizkt777,

Using the series USB adapter you can solve your problem. If you install the right driver, it would generate COM Port, so you can configure your switch with her. Another option is to use the usb port on the cisco console, if it is to provide your switch. You can download here the driver of cisco

  • What software can monitor/Configure IDS IOS?

I have a router Cisco 3750 with IOS/FW/IDS Version 12.2 (8r) T2. How can I configure and monitor IOS IDS?

How can I update FW IOS with the latest signatures?

    Thank you

never heard of a 3750. do you mean 3745?

Anyway, there are some ios versions that support what cisco calls IOS IPS. I think for this site to 12.3 (8) T, so you will need to upgrade.

the IPS is still not as full recommended as a device of the ids, but you'll have more signatures and control. You can watch using SDM, if you want to use the features of the IPS.

for tracking, you can use the syslog, or a copy of VMS/Security Monitor, which will record violations and alerts.

Take a look at this link:

How can I configure on a second two-factor authentication apple that isn't an icloud but rather my itunes account account ID? Only, I seem to be able to use two steps on the second account.

You can not. Two Apple factor authentication is a feature of iOS and OS X, based on your AppleID being associated with iCloud account to send and receive authentication 6-digit codes. An AppleID that is not associated with iCloud account cannot be used for 2-factor authentication.

For Apple ID - Apple Support two-factor authentication

You can set up validation in 2 steps (which is different) with any AppleID - see frequently asked questions about check in two steps for Apple ID - Apple Support
