Access point of the AIR-CAP1602E-N-K9

Hello

can someone help me set up AIR-CAP1602E-N-K9 as autonomous access point.

This is a new default affecting by my knowledge, it's a point of access controller based pls if help how to convert in autonomous access point and the image that is compatible with that.

Hi Kamal,

Hope links below will keep you started with LWAP autonomous.

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/access_point/conversion/LWAPP/u...

https://supportforums.Cisco.com/docs/doc-14960

http://mrncciew.com/2012/10/20/lightweight-to-autonomous-conversion/

For standalone AP, you can use the configuration below. In the link below, you can skip the configuration under 'bridge Configuration.

https://supportforums.Cisco.com/document/61936/autonomous-AP-and-bridge-...

Hope that helps.

  • Updating of the access points in the environment, the models?

I'm going slow in the environment by replacing the access points 80 AIR-1252.  I decided to replace our 1142 s at the same time so that the environment is up to date.  I was curious what the replacement recommended for these access points.  I see Cisco recommends the 1262 in lieu of the 1252.

I work for an oil and gas company with locations across the country.  We use two 5508 s with Flex Connect runs the last code 7.3 7.4 into account in the next 6 months.  Our sites are a mixture of office space with warehouse or other environments difficult. I think 2602 s to replace the 1142 s and 1252 s mounted in offices, and I'm leading 1242 s to replace the 1252 s mounted in our warehouse/truck Bay environments.

Well the 1262 did replace the 1252, but then Cisco came out with the 3502e and the 3602e.  Then maybe you should look at is using the 2602i in the office areas and maybe the 2602e in the area rugged or even look at the 3502e/3602e.  This way, you have all the AP that can sustain CleanAir.

    Thank you

  • Windows 7 or 8 shows the wireless client connected to the access point, but the wireless icon displays "no internet connection".

I saw the same problem with a different providers wireless solution. When I've sniffed the air with OmniPeek and the network that the ap was conducting with WireShark, I see the arp for the gateway request going to the router, the router gateway response is sent to the suspect machine in the air, the acknowledgement of PC than the package but never fills the arp cache. I watched two arp responses in a vs work for lack of scenario, the two packages are the same.

The only way I could solve it was to disable IP Helper (not start too) services, reboot the machine. I see 3 to 4 drops per day, but since the deactivation of this Service the machines with that I tested have not seen the question once again.

    IP Helper:
Provides tunnel connectivity using technologies of transition IPv6 (6to4, ISATAP, Teredo, and Port Proxy) and IP-HTTPS. If this service is stopped, the computer will not have the benefits of improved connectivity offered by these technologies.

    Machines tested and fixed:

    Lenovo E540
    Lenovo W540
    Acer Aspire One
    Dell Latitude E6420

Ip assistance service has been changed about 40 laptops, a dozen of which would fail in about an hour. So far, 0 out of the 40 saw the question since this change and reboot (reset is the key after disable it) laptops. It's been about 5 days.

Any reason why disable this Service solves the problem? With it I can replicate the problem pretty quickly on a few different types of machines so it seems not to be driver or provider specific wireless network card. I checked through the Event Viewer logs, but nothing seems to be triggered during the show. Using the Troubleshooter or disconnect the wireless service will fix the problem for a short period only.

  • Set up the wireless access point, but the wireless devices are unable to get ip address

Hi, I wanted to put my D7000 as router AP. My main router is Sagemcom F@st 3864 by Optus ISP (Australia).

First of all, I put the D7000 in Bridge mode I did these steps:

    1. replace the IP LAN 192.168.0.100

    2 disable DHCP

    3. connect the LAN port to the main router Lan port

Internet connection wired and wireless on the same device but other wireless devices has failed

To remedy this, I made another choice, allowing point-to-point wireless access in the advanced settings of the D7000. I followed the instructions from this link

    http://KB.NETGEAR.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/24104/~/how-do-i-change-my-Nighthawk-router-to-AP-mode...

I put dynamiccaly = wireless internet cable success but peripheral does not have an ip address

No idea how to fix wireless? I'm not very experienced

    Thank you!

I just fixed it just now. For AP mode, connect the LAN port of the main router to the WAN port on the D7000 (not LAN to LAN). I wish I thought to it much sooner.

We have about forty points of access Cisco Aironet 1131AG spread over four floors and they all have a static IP (BVI1) on the same SSID, customers will be on its own virtual local area network (dhcp on 3750 switch) and they use several channels (1,6,11).  Cisco Wireless Control System is pending. This wireless network should support roaming for customers (there will be Wi - Fi tags of multiple AeroScout and wireless laptops). To measure the strength of the wireless signal and wireless coverage on each floor. My questions are:

    1. How to measure the strength of the wireless signal: we must meet at least three APs available with signal excellent (I guess for the WCS needs that will determine the position of the client in the building)? We thought to use NetStumbler and a few laptops with wifi and measure as many points as we can as simpler thing. Or should we use something like Cisco Aironet Client adapters for our mobile phone and then use Cisco Aironet Client Utility (is it worth buying for our analysis and measurement)? Any other idea?
    2. What signal level should we consider for a good wireless (dBm)?
    3. That we should propose for authentication, authorization and management accounting? What happens to the roaming wireless? I did not quiteunderstand WCS, WDS and WLC-that should be used for above tasks?

    Thanks in advance.

"Use the command on the AP" sh dot11 associations "will give you the clients associated with success.  If you add the MAC address of the client at the end of the command, you will get detailed information.  Look under "Signal Strength" and "Signal to noise".  Under the strength of the Signal, you want a value of-75 dBm or lower (lower values the better).  -76 dBm and is bad.  Under Signal-noise, you want a value of 25 dBm or more (values higher the better).

To measure the strength of the signal, I use Airmagnet, but you can use Netstumbler or Cisco Wireless Site Survey.

  • NAT is allowed between the Access Point and the WLAN controller?

Suppose that the AP and controller communicate over a network of L3.

NAT can be done between the two?

For example, suppose that the AP is connected to a DSL router that is running NAT.

Yes, I worked on projects where we did a DRY VPN with NAT. As long as the AP is routable, it will call home.

  • access point in the window of photoshop

    Hello!

I have photoshop CS5 and recently when I well use a hotspot White appears in the lower left area of my photoshop window - it does not appear with any other window in its vicinity, and when the photoshop window is NOT ACTIVE, it disappears, which lead me to believe that photoshop is the culprit.

It's quite annoying, as a photographer, trying to touch up.

    Anyone have this problem?

Try to disable the GPU in Photoshop (Preferences > Performance). Probably, you don't see elsewhere because these other elements are not engaging the GPU features. If this is the case, I do not know why the GPU would do it exactly, but it might have to do with some of the GPU settings in your system preferences.

    Hi Marc,

Make sure first that your controller has software code 8.0.x or above, if first better it. Here's the code recommended by TAC

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/wireless-LAN-Controller-software/200046-TAC-recommended-AireOS.html

Then, try the UX above deployment guide to begin. Under Advanced tab WLAN, you need to enable "of the first universal ap' in order to use this app provisioning & connect to the AP.

If you have more than 1 AP, then you must start 1AP using this application. Other access points that you can feed them upward, while AP original is also powered, so they'll use protocal called NDP & start them automatically

Let us know how it goes

  • Ordered the wrong access point!

    I thought that I had ordered a 1130ag but looks like I ordered a 1131ag LWWAP.

Please could someone tell me what the difference between a 1130 and 1131. I understand I can load the IOS on the light AP software using a tftp server, but I do not know which exit to load on this subject. 12.3JX, 12.3JA, 12.3JEA, 12.3JEB! can anyone help please? either by the way, I am in the United Kingdom, do not know if this affects image to install. Thank you.

    Hi Paul,.

    This happens all the time, so it shouldn't be a problem :) I'm guessing that you have received this AP - AIR - LAP1131AG - x - K9 LWAPP. When you really wanted this AP - AIR-AP1131G-x-K9 Cisco IOS software. Look at the comparison;

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6087/products_data_sheet0900aecd801b901c.html

That being said, you should be good to go with 12.3 (11) JA1.

To access Cisco Aironet to Cisco IOS version 12.3 Points (11) JA1

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/access_point/iOS/release/notes/b11jar1n.html

Cisco IOS version 12.3 (11) JA1 supports 32 MB independent platforms. 16 MB platforms and platforms supported by Cisco IOS version 12.3 (8) JA and earlier versions (350, 1100, 1130, 1200 and 1230 access points and access point/bridge 1300 series) are supported by Cisco IOS version 12.3 (8) JEA1.

    Do not install a "JX" (it is a software image support to upgrade and recovery Cisco Lightweight Access Point Protocol (LWAPP));

These release notes describe features, improvements, and caveats for Cisco IOS release 12.3 (11) JX1.

Note: This version must be loaded on points of access to the plant or by using the lightweight stand-alone mode upgrade tool. Your access point may become unusable if you install this software without using the upgrade tool.

    Returning to standalone Access Point

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html#wp161272

You can convert an access point of the mode light return to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS version that supports stand-alone mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3 (7) JA or earlier version). If the access point is associated with a controller, you can use the controller to load the version of Cisco IOS. If the access point is not associated with a controller, you can load the version of Cisco IOS using TFTP.

By using a TFTP server to revert to a previous version

Follow these steps to return mode LWAPP stand-alone mode by loading a version of Cisco IOS using a TFTP server:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 the IP address of the computer on which the server software runs TFTP should range from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 make sure the PC contains the file access point (for example, c1200-k9w7 - tar.122 - 15.JA.tar for a 1200 Series access point) in the TFTP server folder and the TFTP server is activated.

Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the folder of the TFTP server c1200-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1200 point, c1130-k9w7 - tar.default of access for a series of 1130 access point and c1240-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1240 access point.

Step 4 connect the PC to the access point using an Ethernet category 5 cable (CAT5).

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 7 hold the MODE button until the status of the LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait until restarting access point, as indicated by the LEDs become green followed the status LED flashes green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the GUI or the CLI.

  • The upgrade of Cisco 1600 access points

A customer has Cisco 1600 12 access point and they want to add 3 access points. These access points are autonomous access points and the customer is tired to make individual changes by access points.  I suggested that the new access point be base controller, so my question; These existing access points can be upgraded to LWAPP? Or do need to be replaced? Or this controller one web-based access to existing contact points and be controlled.

so my question; can these existing access point be upgraded to LWAPP? Or do they need to be replaced?
Yes, existing AP can be converted into TOUR mode with a recovery image. Here's how you can do it (note that there are several ways) http://mrncciew.com/2012/10/20/lightweight-to-autonomous-conversion/ http://mrncciew.com/2013/12/13/ap-conversion-using-mode-button/ is the good idea to get a WLC (like 2504) to manage in a simple way, rather managing them individually. See below the product bundles available. If this is the case, you will get with license 25AP 2504 for almost for free when you buy 2 x 1702. • Tecra 9100 - unable to connect to the WLan access point

    Hello

I have a Tecra T9100 with miniPCI WLan. I reinstalled XP Pro and all the drivers (downloaded from the Toshiba site) and I've always had a problem with Wifi:

I can see all access point (in the windows control panel), but when I click on connect, I received a message that the access point is no more...
He didn't ask me for the security settings?

    does anyone have an idea?

    Much thanks

    Leclere

    Hello

To my knowledge the Tecra 9100 was equipped with the wireless LAN standard: 802. 11B mini card PCI ORiNOCO.

You need to check if the WiFi signal is strong enough for a transmission correctly
I think that the signal of WLan access points is not strong enough because of the distance.

  • PS B110a - wireless configuration will fail if the network has multiple access points

Photosmart B110a (CN245B) wireless AIO printer.

I have several wireless access points using the same SSID to provide coverage over a large area. When you install the printer on the screen TouchSmart wireless installation fails. Print report reveals the following error:

"More than one access point/router wireless was found which matches your network name (SSID). If this is not intended, your HP printer can connect to the wrong network. »

In my case this IS planned but there seem to be no available option to answer "OK, just connect to any point of access by using my SSID.  If I turn off all but one the APs configuration complete OK. If I have to do every time I turn on the printer the printer is USELESS for me.

    Did I miss something?

    sijomi

This should not be a problem.  I have a B110 (and another 10 or so HP wireless printers) on a network of airports with 5 access points and they just connect.

    Here are a few suggestions:

    1. don't use WEP - use WPA or WPA2 with a 13 + character password.

    2. enable the SSID broadcast on all access points

    3. do not use the MAC filtering acddress

    4. make sure "AP isolation" or "isolated wireless" is disabled.

    5. make sure that you are not on a private network, virtual, or connected to your network of comments.

    6. If different strings on access points do not work, try the same channel.

"Once the router is configured to bridge fashion, page configuration accessible only using its new IP address. The new IP address can be found on the main router DHCP table. It is because only in LAN - LAN, the

WRT1900AC will be his disabled DHCP. »

I also saw Table of customer routers main DHCP but I have not found the IP address of my wireless WRT1900AC Access Point there. I think it is a bug in the version of the Firmware: 1.1.10.167514
Page config in the case of WRT1900AC Wireless Access Point is isolated or possible only thanks to the WAN WRT1900AC. It would be nice if someone confirms that and maybe in the next version of

fix. :-) I have a beautiful smartphone App "Smart Wi - Fi" and I can not comfortably use it due to this error/bug.
Otherwise everything works well and stably.

    Hi chadster766!

Thanks for your suggestion and a quick response. I have a feeling it would work then as you described. But how to set Internet settings in mode Bridge? I've already put a static IP address router IP address WRT1900AC. I see it with IP scanner.
If I leave the cables as you suggest (hand router LAN to WAN WRT1900AC), the Internet does not work. In this case go to the config page, but Internet with other devices will not work. Also good Wifi, it works but can not access. How to set the Bridge Mode? (I think this is my problem in this scenario)

IP address of the router (LAN):

Connectivity-online-online details router LAN => Edit

    * If your main router IP subnet example is 192.168.0.x, then set the address of the WRT1900AC IP to an IP outside the range of the main router DHCP. Ex: 192.168.0.2

    Bridge mode:
    Connectivity-online Internet-online IPv4 settings => Edit-online Bridge Mode
