Can I control what metadata are published on a public collection of mobile

I made a Collection that is synchronized with Lightoom Mobile available to the public. Photo descriptions appear on the web page. I would have preferred that they not show. Is it possible to control this?

Hi Danielle,

I'm sorry, but it is not possible from now to remove the metadata at the time of the collection of Lightroom Mobile.

Kind regards

Tanuj

Time Machine backup to a sparsebundle.

The sparsebundle will use the share name of computer. So, it should be obvious who is your Macbook and that is your Macpro.

Open the sparsebundle in Finder and keep open the subfolders until you get to the backup of each separate hard drive...

You has of course set the exclusion in Time Machine?

By default, Time Machine will exclude your second drive unless you have included it. Did you?

Once you get to this level during the backup, you can do a full restore manually whenever you want.

  • How can I find photographs that are not assigned to any collection?

    Hello!

    I use LR 5.7.1 on a Mac.

When I've airbrushed raw with PS CC images (and do not need file PSD more) I export the PSD (which is in my catalog) in JPG format and let it automatically add to my catalog. After that, I remove the PSD file. Which works very well.

But... the new JPG file is not assigned to any collection. This is no problem unless I forgot to do it manually after export (and import).

This brings me to my question.

How can I find photographs that are not assigned to any collection?

I tried with a smart collection after I found nothing suitable in the filter library. The search criteria, I tried are Source-> Collection with any of the conditions. One with an empty field, then with just a space and so on.

Does anyone have a good tip for me?

    Thomas

You can also add numbers if you have collections that do not use characters of the alphabet.

  • When you open a Photoshop file with Bridge, how can I control what version of Photoshop, the file wil

At the opening of a bridge of fthrough Photoshop file, how can I check which version of Photoshop, the file will open in?

I store my PSD files that is adjacent to the original RAW file which it originates.

If I open the folder and double-click this PSD file, it opens to the CS6. But, if I use the bridge (CS6) for access to and open the same file, it starts by is Photoshop CS5 and then opens this file PSD in CS5.

How can I control which Photoshop will open a file then choose to open it through Bridge?

Interesting, but it does not give any idea what I'm supposed to do. No Photoshop ducuments listed.

Look at the PSD file on the location of Curt and Photoshop Document research. Beside him ideally should show Adobe Photoshop CS6 if you have Bridge open CS6. Click to provide the fly on the menu and choose the correct Photoshop from the list.

But probably something went wrong with your installation. By default, Bridge chooses the latest version of PS to open its plug in.

Maybe reset preferences may also help you. Can you provide more details about the version of the OS etc.

And you have a good reason to keep your Raw and finalized in the same place files. Personally I put them aside and use a convention of appropriate filename (YYYYMMDD and details) so I can easily search the DNG files in my archives if I needed, but I don't make mistake by opening a bad

  • What metadata are cooked in the vs file stored on the XMP file?

I have read articles and even the cc manual and learned that some of the metadata is cooked in the file itself, I have to confirm that (which don't have the manual, but I am parinoid I read as bad now), as well as understand what information is. Reason: The company that I work has had problems with files that have been moved around location and I hope that the bridge is the answer for that. So if the information is cooked in the file itself, and the file is moved, a quick search in bridge will always evoke the file. Thank you for your time.

    Hi akjackson,

    > The company I work for has had problems with files that have been moved around location and I hope that the bridge is the answer for that. >

You can see for yourself in Bridge by selecting "View > Show Hidden Files." The XMP files are sidecar that store settings for the raw files of most of the cameras. Files NEF or CR2, for example, will the XMP file in the folder even if you kept the default Camera Raw default preference to save the settings of the image in .xmp sidecar files. If you copy or move your file to another location, however, the XMP file will go with it. Just do not use the option to save the image to a database of Camera Raw settings if you want to be as sure as possible that metadata from anywhere that the file will go. The XMP file should not be visible to travel even if you are burning a DVD with the main file, or move it on a network. It will simply go with the parent file.

Nothing can be written as a normal raw file, so the XMP file is needed. However, you can save in the DNG raw with your changes intact Camera Raw, as well as key words that you've added, without losing your XMP data. DNG is a special wrapper that keeps the file raw inside.  Other file formats also store metadata in the file itself, rather use the XMP sidecar files.

So basically, if your business loses its files, it really has nothing to do with the XMP sidecar files. It has to do with the not not using metadata, including keywords, to search for files, and/or a good system to organize the files themselves within your network. Bridge, btw, can only see the drives that are connected, so make sure that you do not send your files offline readers and optical media, and bridge to know where they are still waiting. It will not. If you need that, you need a digital asset manager.

If you are still feeling paranoid, or need to prove to your bosses (that is the company, after all), prove it to yourself by the fire from the Finder, a DVD with files camera raw, DNG, JPEG, TIFF, etc. files, after adding keywords or make changes to the image files. Remove the DVD and put it into another computer running the bridge. You have moved the files and you should be able to see their metadata always there, and files camera raw will have their files XMP on the DVD if show you hidden files in the bridge while viewing.

  • How can I see what images are associated with my albums?

I create albums for various subsets of my photos and I would like to see what those who are associated with what albums.  And those who may be associated with several albums.  And who is not associated with albums.

You can find photos that aren't in any album by creating a smart album with the rule 'Album isn't everything. "

But the Photos is not a tool to reveal the photo albums is in.  If you want to be able to find the albums, smart albums based on key words to use. For example, instead to drag your photos of birds at a standard album "Birds", assigning the 'Bird' keyword and create a smart album "Keyword is the bird".  So looking at the keywords to a photo, albums, you'll see in.

  • How to see what metadata are in conflict

Today, I found a photo that shows a conflict of metadata in LR. There is absolutely no reason, there should be a conflict, but let's leave that aside for now and focus on how to solve that LR may think wrong.

I am presented two options: use the LR metadata or metadata from the photo. I can live with that, IF I know what's in the two sets of metadata. Then, I choose the one I want. Otherwise, the message would be practically useless.

I asked the question several years back and told me that there were many requests for it. This incorporated LR5? I have not spotted.

    grits5 wrote:

Consider a path of potentially of low resistance: If you have not changed outwardly, and the photo looks OK in Lightroom, just record and forget the conflict. (I have disabled indicators and therefore ignore the thoughts of all Lr on the subject - they caused more stress to be useful - YMMV).

If you really want to see a list of the differences between the settings of catalog and metadata and xmp on disc, I recommend using the "Compare Catalog on disk" function of ChangeManager.

Google "' s Rob Cole ChangeManager Lightroom Plugin" to find.

If you prefer to evaluate changes without using ChangeManager, consider:

    * Rename sidecar xmp

    * Save again the xmp metadata

    * Compare the xmp sidecar files using the text compare utility.

If xmp is incorporated, you must extract all first use exiftool (or plugin xEmP).

(+ 1 vote for option sidecar xmp for all types of files)

  • BlackBerry Blackberry Storm Smartphones - phone calls, I can't hear what people are saying?

    Hello

This has been happening frequently, one minute everything is good with phone calls, then the next time I try to use the phone, the people at the other end can hear me, but I cannot hear them, not matter if they ring me or I ring their.  The only way I can remedy is to take out the battery and reset, of course I accidentally hit something (and it's not the mute button, who tested), and this is the origin of the problem.  Phone-shop initially thought it was a problem of phone software and gave me a new phone, but it also happens with the new phone, what am I doing that is causing this please

Make sure you have the latest version of the operating system on the device.
