  • Can I make Windows 7 anytime upgrade now that Windows 8 is out?

    I want to buy an older ultrabook which has Windows Home Premium, but I need Windows 7 Professional for the job. I was wondering if I would still be able to upgrade at any time, given that Windows 8 is released. Microsoft or their reseller still selling Windows 7 Pro licenses for the anytime upgrades?

    You can try the Express via the built-in Wizard upgrade:

    First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click the option to purchase a key. Wait while loading of the Express Upgrade page, click on the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade to buy it.

    Click Next, fill in your details (it is important that you do this because the product key will be sent to you as a backup in case you need to reinstall) enter your credit card information, click next to begin the upgrade, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement , click upgrade, wait while the software updates, (it may take 10 minutes or more, depending on the case, updates are required), your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify its update of the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a windows will pop up by notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional, your files, programs and settings stored, proceed to activate Windows 7 Professional.

    If its not available, you buy on amazon.com and enter the key in the Express Upgrade Wizard:

    Microsoft Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade (Home Premium to Professional) [Code online]

    As of Windows Vista, you can launch the wizard Express upgrade of the Start menu > all programs group or in the control panel. The wizard provides two methods to unlock a higher SKU, you can go online, purchase of a license, or if you already have a key, simply enter it. This is a major positive for customers who do not have a credit card or access to Internet.

    Enter your product key

    Check the product key

    Accept the license agreement

    During the process at any time to update, your computer will be restarted.

  • Failure of Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade on the new computer laptop

    Hello

    We just bought a new Asus laptop that came with Windows 7 Starter as standard.

    A week later, we bought an Express Upgrade Home Premium 7.

    The upgrade has failed at first time around; following the advice of the community, I tried the following:

    Check all updates;

    Installed the CheckSUR tool fix;

    Disabled user account control;

    Disabled antivirus;

    The hard drive to find errors;

    Profiled selective startup in MSConfig.

    In the end, I got was a "invalid product key" - which it is not.

    Windows displays as entered, and I have SP1.

    As a last resort, I have reset the specifications of the factory and tried the Express upgrade as the first thing on the PC 'cost '. Upgrade failed after 25 minutes.

    In the very final resort, I reset all the solutions above workaround to the specifications of the factory again, re-directed (except by disabling the antivirus because I have not reinstalled which again - there is only Windows Firewall between me and the world wide). Update failed.

    I just tried to disable the Windows Firewall and tried the upgrade - my product key verified program, was asked to accept the terms, told me it would be as little as 10 minutes - but now it's to say the upgrade button that I entered is a version of Windows that does not work with the Express upgrade... but it IS an Express upgrade.

    It took nine days so far - please you have the magic answer? Thank you waiting...!

    You have already done most of what I have posted, but it can't hurt to read and review as it is possible that you missed.

    My computer has Windows 7 anytime upgrade available when I bought it. I've updated when he was available and received the disks. Since then, I had to reinstall everything on my computer that rely on Windows Vista.
    The 'Windows 7 upgrade Express' is no longer available. Can I use the discs I received initially and reinstall the upgrade
    Thank you

    The "Anytime Upgrade" is for the upgrade of a small version of Windows 7 to a higher version of Windows 7 (example: in Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional).

    Probably you have, it is the promotional offer about 2 years ago which would allow you to buy a computer with Vista installed and then upgrade to Windows 7, when it became available.

    If this is the case you must install Vista and activate with the Vista product key, and then use the Windows 7 upgrade DVD and associated Windows 7 product key.

  • I can not select Windows 8.1 upgrade and other applications after update system

    I just refreshed my laptop Windows 8.1 after that that he returned to Windows 8... I opened the store and I can't select Windows 8.1 upgrade and other applications. What can solve this problem?

    Hey Kevin,

    If you bought your laptop with Windows 8, and she had a recovery partition, it would reset to Windows 8 when you want to run a system to refresh. This also applies if you have performed the update system using a disk installation or recovery of Windows 8. You mentioned that you are now unable to update Select 8.1 of Windows update, the Windows store.

    The Windows 8.1 update is not listed? Or you can not face problems with the update 8.1 for Windows from the Windows store?

    If you are facing the issue later, what happens when you click on the update of Windows 8.1 in Windows store? An error message appears?

    You also mentioned that you can not store of Windows other apps? What happens when you try to install?

    If you are unable to find the Windows 8.1 update in the Windows store, try the steps suggested in this article and checking:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/why-can-t-find-update-store

    If you are unable to install the update Windows 8.1 displayed in store Windows, then try these steps and check:

    First of all, make sure that you have installed all the Windows updates available, including 2871389 KB and KB 2917499.

    Method 1:

    Run the Windows update troubleshooting utility which can automatically detect and fix most of the incorrect settings that could cause problems with the download of updates. See the following steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + F to bring up the Search bar charms.
    2. Type of Troubleshooting and press enter; Click the tab settings , under the search box.
    3. Click on the tile to find and fix the problems and then click on the button show all the left pane.
    4. Click the Windows update troubleshooting tool and run it.

    Method 2:

    If the problem persists, disable any third-party antivirus software that you may have installed temporarily and check.

    Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3:

    If the problem persists, start your computer in a clean boot state, and then try to install Windows 8.1. Start your computer in a clean boot state, you can reduce conflicts between software and help identify the root cause of the problem. You can read this article for more information:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Note: after the resolution of the problem, reset the computer to start as usual. Refer to the step How to configure the computer to start as usual after a boot minimum troubleshooting under more information.
