• Why my entire collecton of photos in 'Photos' suddenly get blurred, and how to restore the order that they were in?

  It's the kind of thing that makes me want to destroy all the computers and go back to the 20th century. My computer is brand new. My virus protection, etc. works normally. I am a novice and do not want to do anything with my computer at all. But I have a collection of several thousand photos and I spend all my free time in order to get them. The order is in no way 'logic', there is no way to keep this collection except move carefully every image in one place. So yesterday, as I move an image to somewhere else in the sequence, the screen went white for a second, and then all of the thousands of photos were in what looks to be like a random order. And now, whenever I turn on the computer, the photos appear in the same order and then scrambled a progress bar green that I've not seen before travel the length of the upper part of the screen and then the images become a garbled second order, which has also no connection with that I have established with months of work. What happens here? And how can I back order and avoid that it never happen again, assuming I ever force put in several additional months of work on this?

  If you could answer a few questions that would help us resolve this problem:

  1. what version of Movie Maker is installed on the computer?

  2. What is the format of the music files you are trying to add?

  3. do you have a code error message when you try to add music and narration to the project?

  4. the problem occurs with all types of music files?

  If music files are Digital Right Management protected, you will not be able to add to the Movie Maker. It might not have to do with the settings but the Movie Maker is not able to recognize the file format of music stored on your computer.

  The following freeware converter may be worth a try:

  You will need to unzip the file... or you could just drag
  the Setup.exe from the file out of the folder and drop it on your
  desktop and install from there.

  Once installed...drag/drop your audio file on the Sothink
  icon to start the program. Then, in the encoding settings...
  Choose... Generic Audio / WAV Audio (*.wav). FWIW... the
  size of the. WAV will be 'a lot' bigger than MP3.
  Also, you could try convert. WMA.

  Choose an output folder and on the left, click on the button convert.

  You can experiment with other settings later but
  This should help you get started.

  Yep it worked. That didn't quite work, but put me in the right direction. Clicked timeline and there was an audio option, so I turned it right at the audio, it is currently halfway between vidoe and audio. Thank you

  I want this BTW, it's because I want to manipulate a clip with a video codec (ZMBV), and I have a trustworthy 32-bit codec installer (actually a. INF with a shortcut rundll32.exe and the DLL), but not 64-bit. (Clips will play in Windows Media Player, because the x 64 Windows version is actually an x 86 app, but not in Movie Maker, which corresponds to the architecture of the OS.) In addition, if you know where to find the codec (with confidence that it is not malware), or any other way around this problem (in addition to using the Movie Maker on a 32-bit virtual machine, which is my current solution and the last resort), it would also help.

  Thank you very much for your quick reply, it has been useful. After taking a glance even if these two solutions look a little hacks and for now, I prefer to stay with my current solution via Virtualization (that I now say in my first post that I edited a little), for the volume very few, I'll work with this codec - it's very awkward but it's clean. :(

  Also the download that I linked above, I don't know really if it's 32-bit or 64-bit. Given that these things are routinely mentioned in MS download, I'll assume that the installation program will detect your operating system architecture and the game, and there is nothing you can do about it - so a version number different would not help really. (??)
