Can I start a process in the background in the Explorer

Is it possible to launch a service or a background when the window Explorer or project is launched. If possible, I should be able to get the reference of the application (or is this .net implementation).

Chris

  • How can I set a wallpaper if the explorer.exe shell is intentionally never started

    The scenario:

I want to run Windows 7 in Kiosk mode using only the touch input keyboard and mouse.

To do this, I replace "explorer.exe" in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Shell with the path to my application. It does everything that I need because there is no keyboard and mouse attached.

I also put a wallpaper that tells the user to contact our support.

So if my application can not start or fails for any reason, the user cannot manipulate the system, but he receives a useful message.

On Windows XP, everything works fine - my application starts full screen so paper mask painted. If it crashes, then the background reappears.

On Windows 7, however, no background appears. The screen remains black even if a valid path is set in the registry. It seems that on Windows 7, explorer.exe is responsible for setting the wallpaper. Since he's never started, no wallpaper is displayed.

How can I manually set a wallpaper if explorer.exe is never started?

  • Can I start lightroom 6 from the desktop?

Hi, I bought LR6 as a one-time purchase rather than the CC version.

However, it is a little heavy to start LR6 as I now open the 'creative' red cloud icon, wait a little while, so that it can connect to the internet, go to the applications tab and then select LR6.

With LR5 that I just had a desktop for LR5 icon I could click directly and would start immediately.  Can I add an icon for the LR6 on my desk?

    Yes. On windows, go to:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom

Select lightroom (the application) and right-click and choose send to desktop.

On Mac OSX launch Finder and go to:

Macintosh HD > Applications > Adobe Lightroom > Adobe Lightroom.app

After launching the application, right-click (Ctrl-click) on the dock icon and choose:

    Options > keep in Dock

  • Can't see 7 files in the Explorer of Windows 7 slate

I just got this and try to understand. I see lots of files in file HP Manager but when I plug the Tablet inot my PC I see only 2... DCIM and photos, and has nothing under them (except a picture I took) as well as a file that I created. When I try to copy something the PC in the folder I created I get a message: "cannot collapsed copy device not responding or has been disconnected" but I can copy a PDF file of the tablet to the PC. I access to the internal memory as I don't have a microSD yet (if that makes a difference).

I plugged it as PTP, because if I connect like PSG, Windows Explorer is not recognize and see the tablet.

For any help or suggestion would be appreciated.

Just FYI I managed to connect to:

    (a) implementation Option ON developers

    (b) USB debugging WE

Then I could see the internal memory and the SD card as external storage on my PC.

Given that the Tablet connects to three other computers as it normally should, I came to the conclusion that the problem is with the installation of Win 7 on my counter top and possibly some software conflicts.

  • Why start stop process to the Intel screen?

Today, I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro. When the Setup program is finished, it has shown a dialog box suggest that I restart. I clicked on the button restart in the box and the PC wen through the part of the normal shutdown of a reboot, but when my PC started the boot process it must the Intel blue scree (displaying the logo and some angular lines in the background) and just stopped there. HDD activity stopped. I waited about a minute. Then forced a stoppage via the button on the front of my PC. Then reused the same button start the machine upward. Even stop at the scree of Intel. So I go through the whole process once again and the PC stops to the Intel screen. At this point, I pick up my Symantec Recovery Disk backup and prepare to restore the C drive from weekly backups who puts Norton Ghost on an external USB hard disk. As I'm so, Windows moves past the Intel screen and into a normal startup. Checked and Acrobat has been installed OK and works.  My question is not only why it happened, but there is a possibility there was a sort of damage the disk? Should I run a kind of diagnosis?

Took it to a repair shop well and they found a simple problem. Windows XP (or at least mine) don't like to have my new Western Digital My Passport Essential SE external USB plugged in at boot time. If it is not connected, the PC boots fine.

  • How can I get a process in the foreground?

I work in a manufacturing plant, and I work on the development of a system to send notifications associated processes for workers at the chain. Events in an Oracle database trigger display and the UTL_TCP package allows you to send a message that contains a URL to the target computer. The PC has a small Java program to listen to the message, which then opens the URL in Internet Explorer using Kiosk mode:
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\iexplore.exe -k \"" + request + "\"");
where 'demand' is a variable that contains the URL.

The problem I have is that when other applications are running, the window often open behind them. I need to be able to force it to be above all other windows. How can I do this? I am also open to suggestions for other methods that do not involve the use of IE.

    Thank you
    Farida

I understand that the message is HTML. If it is simple HTML, Java itself can make quite easily, as described here: http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/components/text.html.
You can control better than an external process.

If your messages are too complex for Swing based rendering, google for "java built-in browser.

  • Can someone tell me if I can add a new column in the Explorer of Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008?

    Hello

Previously in Windows XP and 2003, IColumnProvider is available using which it was possible to add a new column to Windows Explorer Details view, but with the removal of this API, the new columns are is not displayed in Windows Explorer on a Vista or Windows 2008 Server. It is said that there is a new concept of property system. So I would like to know if it is possible to implement something similar uses of property systems.

  • Computer won't start; 3 long beeps, the fan turns

    Hello

I have a desktop HP equipped of Windows Vista that does not start correctly.  When I turn it on it looks like it is starting, I hear the fan, the computer will beep 3 times in a row (I would say long beeps) then stops and beeps 3 times in a row again.  Then nothing on the monitor, fan always running.  If I didn't get anything I think that the computer and the monitor's energy-saving.

Before I turn it on the screen says no signal so I think the screen itself works.  I don't quite see the HP splash screen.  Pressing F8 during startup seems to do nothing.

I created Vista backup discs (food?), but I don't think they are bootable.  Some back story: a few weeks ago, I tried to download Windows Live.  After installing the updates, I could never Live DL and the next day I got the blue screen of death.  I rebooted, you press F8 repeatedly and Windows started normally.  Although it worked fine for a few days I felt nervous that I did a restore of the system around October 31.  Everything seems to be ok for over a week but now I have this problem.  I thought to upgrade to Windows 7, but do not know what to do at this point.  I've never opened a tour - answers Google talk out of ram or certain types of error of keyboard Bios (3270 keyboard card).

Help, please!  Sorry to be so long.  :-)
