You cannot use a backup from a Home Premium computer to reinstall Vista Basic on another computer.
There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

Workshop repair completely dismantled my machine and reloaded the OS, Yosemite 10.10.1.
I tried to download an update of licensing, but can't get to open. ???
My machine was originally a clone of another Mac. Not that it looks like a brand new computer.
