  I connected my 8560w to an external monitor via an advanced docking station.  My monitor allows me to switch between two sources.

  I intend my set-up for my future office and virtually all that my activity will be on the 8560w and the monitor.

  Can I run the 8560w for a long time with its lid closed without risk?  I was in Control Panel/power/choice what closing the lid does and all sleep on battery and nothing power are.

  Is there a heat problem? Or other side effects?

  I put t know if you can use but AFAIK Toshiba recommends using these modules on the Tecra A4:

  I had the same problem - could not believe my eyes on how horrible and blurry Flash Builder looked on my new Macbook Pro w retina.  Through she had suffered since last week and have just discovered this work around that someone figured out for Eclipse that also works on Flash Builder (guess b/c it is built on Eclipse).  Here is the link to the bug report that shows the work around (thanks to Brad Hudgeons):

  Here's the workaround:  Do "Show package contents" on the Eclipse.app.  Edit Contents/Info.plist.  Just above     Place this:  NSHighResolutionCapable 
  

  Instead of Eclipse, display the contents of the package on Adobe Flash Builder 4.6.app.   After you change the Info.plist file, go to the Adobe Flash Builder 4.6.app and reproduce.  It will create an Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 copy.app.  Delete your original Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 and rename the Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 Adobe Flash Builder 4.6.app copy.app.  Then launch Flash Builder - you should see the text which is much clearer.  The graphics on the user interface are still unclear but at least the text should be crispy.

  Well, you should be able to boot up your laptop in this way, but how to market? The power button on my laptop is under the cover.

  And Yes, there is a kind of switch, which leave the phone know that the door is closed, but it's only important in Windows, it does not close or go on stand-by.

  To avoid this, just set power options to do nothing on a closed lid.

  OK, I found a workaround solution - with a caveat.

  The xHCI driver is apparently in conflict with something that causes chaos when the laptop tries to transition from sleep to Hibernate with the lid closed.

  This is definitely a bug that should be fixed! Acer needs to work with Microsoft to find the problem and fix it.

  If you go into the BIOS settings (reboot and press F2) and disable xHCI.

  The USB ports will return to PCI mode. All USB ports are working, even if I think they are USB 2.0, not 3.0

  Now the power level can be set to sleep when the lid is closed and it will cause a transition to Hibernate when appropriate!

  Need you an Xtra to work with a database. You can find a list of xtras database at updateStage.

  I almost always use my notebook NB200 - 10G with external monitor/mouse. And since the powerbutton is really accessible with the cover closed, it should be possible to start the computer without having to open the lid, turn it on and then close the cover. Does anyone know how to do this?

  Dell inspiron e1505 on windows xp sp3 will stop when the lid closed mode standby. In "idle mode" it shuts down for a few seconds then screen turns on and I can work as usual.  Why is it turn off in standby mode?  Happens in AC mode and battery.  is it a software problem or a hardware problem.  I see others with the same problem and vista dell.

  My MacMini seems to have thrown a crisis of anger with El Capitan and I need to continue my work with my 2.4 Ghz Intel Core duo MacBook Pro (2008).  I see that I can connect the two wires into the side of my MBP but an empty black screen seems to dominate with no sign of life at all.  It is likely to please?

  TBD will only work if you have TB port on your laptop.  Your laptop probably has a mini port that looks the same, but differs based on display.
