Can not recover the laptop using the recovery disk

Hello.

I want to reboot my Toshiba laptop and I inserted the "Recovery" CD and you press F8 and went on the Help menu, and when the list came I clicked on one who said about to restart my PC and lose all the data and then I clicked on "Restart" and rebooted the computer and the drive was in but he just came back as usual.

What should I do? I tried all the other options and they all work as usual.

What should I do? What I have to press something else?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

~ Confused ~

To be honest after reading your ad, I am more confused you.

Can you please tell us what phone do you have?
F8 and disc into the optical disc drive. Sorry, but something is wrong with that.

Either you can install Vista again using image stored on the HARD disk (option repair my computer of F8) or use facilities Toshiba recovery media. There is no sense to use both at the same time.

Please you the necessary details.

    Hello Voger

I have created many recovery on several Toshiba laptops DVDs and never noticed anything like that. I used that brands and DVD-R discs were Verbatim or TDK.

Unfortunately I can't answer it what does this message mean, but you should try to repeat the creation of DVD. If possible try with TDK.
If the same thing happens again I recommend you recovery your laptop using recovery of HARD drive option and try to create discs of recovery again.

Sorry, but I don't see any other possibility at the moment.

  • With FileVault and Firmware Lock-> can not see the recovery disk

I see with FileVault and Firmware now on lock is no longer the recovery disk in the Boot Manager. If it's supposed to happen? I am running the latest version of El Capitan.

Yes, what is expected. You can always "see" from a Terminal of diskutil list or list cs disktuil order. Thus, instead of having 2 ways to access (command + R, Startup Manager - Option/Alt key) there is 1 way that is command-R.

  • Satellite L350: Can not access the recovery partition by pressing 0

    Heya

I can not access the recovery on a Toshiba L350 Manager. I tried pressing 0 (zero, two of them) at first to access HD-recovery, but nothing happens. Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

The reason why I want to access is:
I have a l350 Toshiba with a partially installed windows here. For now, he gets the "starting Windows" and "instalation program's services began" (in Norwegian) which stops with a popupbox saying: "the computer unexpectedly inexplicable, or an unexpected error has occurred. The site amenities cannot procceed. To install Windows, you will need to click ok to restart the computer. Start the installation process. ».

What started the problem was that during the last part of the installation (after Win7 becomes usable, but above all has been installed), escape was pressed, and the computer has been used normally.

    I assume you are using a European model for laptop and so you should try it;
-Press on F8 laptop computer power on.
    -Then choose fix my computer
    -Then Toshiba HDD Recovery.

This should allow you to start the Toshiba HDD recovery process.

    Hi all

I use a Toshiba M30. Last week, I uninstalled the old version of Norton Antivus to install the new version of Norton Internet Security. • Failed to retrieve the Satellite Pro L300 laptop using Toshiba Recovery Disk

I have a Satellite Pro L300 Vista I'm trying recover using the recovery disk Toshiba official that the machine is not able to retrieve from the hard drive.

The process gets as much as to start recovery utility and asking to select the language in the utility recovery which I emphasize English and then select next; It moves on the next screen, which is empty and then it just hangs.

You bought your laptop with the Vista version English?

  • Can not recover the Windows 7 desktop after replacing the hard drive

I bought a new HP Pavillion Elite (HPE-240f) in August 2010. A week ago my hard drive has no SMART short self-test during systematic hardware diagnostics. I installed a new hard drive of the same size - 1 TB and could never make it work properly. I tried the following (in that order).

    1. using a system repair disc, I got the system from a previous image (which I did shortly after the purchase, install my own software and configuration of all). It worked, but then I noticed that Windows Update was not working. I ran various Microsoft diagnostic tools and discovered that some (unspecified) system files have been damaged or missing. All the fixes I tried didn't work. I ran hardware diagnostics extended, but no problem not found.

    2. I tried to restore the system to the default settings by using the original image on the D partition. At first it seemed to work, but at the last moment when the system started, I saw a message on the screen that Setup is starting services and then got a warning saying that services failed because of (unspecified) problems with hardware.

    3. I tried to restore the system from the system recovery discs and a message "system recovery disks do not support this computer."

    4. I found this Cyberlink utility on the HP website, dealing with precisely this issue. I created a CD tried and it didn't work.

    5. I found this document on the HP Web site, saying that if you are replacing a hard drive with sectors of 512 bytes with a new advanced Format (AF) drive (with areas of 4 096 bytes) and your system was manufactured before October 2010 (as mine was), you must get the new HP recovery disks. I thought I finally found the root of my problems (since the new drive is indeed AF and the old man is not) and ordered HP recovery discs.

    6. the disks arrived today, and I noticed that the version number of the software (for Windows 7 version) is almost the same as on the computer, except that the last digit is 9 on disks and 6 on the computer - I guess it's an update to deal with the problem hard drive AF. However, I get 'system recovery disks do not support this computer' error, if I use the utility from CyberLink recovery disks or not. To be on the safe side, I even used a new hard disc (new 1 TB) right out of the box (never partioned and installed previously) and connected the original keyboard supplied with the computer (I also unplugged everything except the monitor, keyboard and mouse). However, I get the same message. Just out of curiosity I tried to put back the original hard drive (certainly not in best shape, even if the system always starts with him) and still could not recover the system.

    What else can I try?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

An alternative to try. > If you can read the Microsoft Windows 7 of 25-character license key attached to the Tower, you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD. The version must match that on the sticker COST Microsoft. for example Home Premium

an upgrade must be done from vista, NOT operating system by booting from the disk to upgrade

  • Satellite A300 - I can't find the recovery disk creator

    Hello world!

Need help with my Satellite A300. I lost the recovery disc optical I burned when the laptop was new. Now when I try to burn a new disc of recovery can't get the Recovery Disc Creator - not on the desktop or in the Start meny. I still have the folder with all the left recovery files - a folder named HDDRecovery with 4.5 GB size. The problem is to know how to burn the disc.

    Can anyone help?

    iMate, Sweden

    Hello!

You have reinstalled the laptop with your own version of Windows?

The problem is that the recovery disc creator can t be downloaded. So I think you use HARD drive recovery function to restore the factory settings. After that, it is perhaps possible to burn the disc of recovery again.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P200 - 17 - where can I download the recovery disk?

I have the recovery disk, but when I try to restore my computer to factory settings and reboot the laptop, it starts. The disc and says there is a damaged disk file.

Where can I get a download of the disc or a way to rest my computer back to factory settings?

    Hello

Firstly the Toshiba Recovery disk t can be downloaded. You can create one yourself using the creator of disc of recovery Toshiba or you buy a new Toshiba directly:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

But there is another option to restore factory settings.
You can install the laptop by using a Microsoft Windows disk. Then you can download all the drivers on the Toshiba site.
    Check it!
