  • Question for Microsoft Support; I have a huge amount of music files .m4a that I can not play on Windows Media Player?

    Question for Microsoft Support;
I have a LARGE amount of files music .m4a in a storage drive stand alone that I downloaded from an old Apple computer have more possession of. I can't understand how to enter these data into my old Emachines computer Windows Vista run the Media Player program. I tried to copy a few files m4a manually in the file Media Player Music folder, but they do not play. I'm not really all that computer savvy and know only the basics, I need to use my computer really. Can you give me some step by step instructions how to get these converted files or whatever it is I need to do to get them to play and to integrate properly into my library if it is possible? If this isn't the case, I'll have to go out and buy a new Apple computer for my 60 GB music collection. In the past, that I've never had no real problem shooting files to leave this computer based Vista and convert these files to my old computers Apple Itunes Player. So what's the problem with your system of guys that done anyway this such a pain in the butt? I would really like to understand what exactly is happening with this issue? It's very frustrating for me. I'm a finish Carpenter not a computer programmer. Such things should not be so difficult for someone like me to understand. All I intend to buy a really nice computer, probably in the summer and was considering a Microsoft based computer. But if this kind of problem will be spread with Microsoft products, so maybe I should reconsider. help you can offer to alleviate this problem will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Tim M. from Detroit.

According to research on the Internet, Windows Media Player, atleast this is version 11 (included in Windows Vista and available for Windows XP SP2 +) cannot play Apple loseless type .m4a audio files without having to install any codecs.

If you want to use Windows Media Player, you can follow the instructions mentioned here to install the necessary codecs and plugins.

(In the related instructions above, in the first step talks about codecs - your .m4a files are files Apple loseless then follow the party referred to in the first stage about Apple loseless .m4a)

Personally, I prefer using alternatives to Windows Media Player rather than installing codec packs.

If you don't want to install codecs, download no matter what media player from "programs that open. M4A files"- Windows category list on this page.

If you use a spare player - VLC Media Player is my choice.

  • Apple iPhone 3 g will not sync with Windows Media Player

I tried to sync my iphone to Windows media player, but it does not read the device and all. Help, please

Windows Media Player is not designed to work with iPods/iPhones. You need to run additional software.

In addition, you must have installed iTunes or Windows 7 will not recognize your iPod/iPhone.

  • How can I disable completely sync in Windows Media Player?

Whenever I connect my phone to my computer, Windows Media Player comes and asks for sync, sometimes resulting in the device not being recognized, so I can't copy files to the phone without having to shut down WMP and reconnect my phone to my computer. This means that I can't enjoy my music and plug my phone at the same time.

Now, I've seen some answers out there, but they don't really solve my problem. What I want is WMP never synchronize or ask to sync every time I connect a new device, because even if I have to turn off sync for my phone if I then try to plug in my flash drive it ask for synchronization.

What I want is that the option sync completely disabled for each device, I could connect to the future, not a simple temporary fix. If there is none I'll switch to a different media player.

I don't don't need or even care for automatic playback. This may help someone, it worked for me, although minimal testing just by using USB flash drives. BTW I use WMP 12 in Windows 7 Pro.

In the Panel--> view by: small icons--> AutoPlay--> I changed ALL media options and the device of "Non-action" and strangely enough, I kept the check mark for "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices" and now what to open, play, or even synchronize the decisions are totally up to me.

  • Mobile device does not synchronize with Windows Media player

My mobile device (Pharos Traveler 137) running windows media 10 mobile player is not detected by Windows Media Player 11 running in Vista.  Connected and synchronized correctly for months, it is not so now, even if the mobile device is detected by the computer and synchronizes correctly for other purposes such as outlook, files, etc..   How to get Windows Media Player to detect once more unit (specifically the card 8 GB storage) in the window of synchronization?

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes before the show?
    2. is the device detected on the computer?

Step 1: We recommend that you check if the sync settings are correct. To do this, follow these steps.
    1 open Windows Media Player.
    2. click on the arrow below the Sync tab, point to the device, and then click Advanced Options.
    3. the Properties dialog box for your device is displayed. Tab sync, box start sync when device connects checkbox.
    4 restart the media player.
The next time that you want sync, connect the device to your computer and click on the Synchronize tab, then click Start Sync.

Step 2: Add a device to sync in Windows Media Player.
    1. start Windows Media Player and connect your portable device into a USB port on your computer. A box of "Windows Media Player ‑‑ Device Setup" appears, showing that he recognized the device and provides an opportunity for you to name your device.
    2. read how the player will sync your device, which is directly under where you type the name of the device. If storage of the device is more than 4 gigabytes, for example, and your library on Windows Media Player fits on this device, the player chooses automatic.
    3. selection of automatic synchronization means that your device will reflect all your Windows Media Player library and it will do so that whenever it is connected. Click on "Finish".
    4. to synchronize only some of your library when the player chose automatic, you can choose what will sync when you open Windows Media Player. Click on the portable device in the right pane and drag the items you want to synchronize with this device.
    5. selection of a manual synchronization indicates that the player has detected that the portable device has no place for your entire library. Click on "Finish". Open Windows Media Player, select the portable device in the right pane and drag the items you want to synchronize with this device.

  • Sync on Windows Media Player

I'm trying to sync in Windows Media Player using an SD memory card and also I tried to use the storage Flash Drive (USB).  I clicked the sync up, but there is no recognition of the other.  I've refreshed but without success.  I've wound up Media Player and open again with success.  How can I synchronize to these storage units?

    Hi jchannah,

1 what the flash card or SD card has been recognized by Windows?

2 have you tried sync with these devices?

First of all, you need to configure the device to sync in windows media player.

    For more information see:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/howto/mp11/sync.aspx

If you can not sync in Media player then try the manual synchronization.

  • did I lose my files if I sync to windows media player?

I have an ativa with music on her mp3 player. I was wondering if I sync my player with my windows media player if I lose all my files? Help, please!

    Hello

You just need to be careful.

If you set the MP3 player on MSC then you can copy files to and from it as if it were an external hard drive
(it's what it will be). If you set the MP3 of the PSG, then it can sync with Windows Media Player.

Copy the music files on the MP3 hard disk (not in music files - create a new folder to use)
and then you have backups to use according to your needs.

  • Why Firefox 5 will not see the Windows Media Player Plugin?

    Hello useful Mozilla expert,

When I click on a link to play a standard WMV video in Firefox 5, in the movie player window it is said 'Click here to download the'.

When I click on 'Click here to download the plugin' in Firefox 5, I get a panel of Firefox that says I need to Windows Media Player 11, but I already Windows Media Player 12 and the browser Firefox WMP plugin installed on this computer... it worked fine in Firefox 3.6.

If I then click to install the Windows Media Player 11 plugin, it goes to another Firefox sign that says: ' no plug-ins have been installed, Windows Media Player 11 - no available '. Then, there is a "manual install" button, and when I click, it takes me to a third party plugin site called 'InteroperabilityBridges.com' which has a plugin Firefox WMP dated April 2007 available.

Here is the link he gives... http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/Windows-Media-Player-Firefox-plugin-download

When I check my Panel "programs and features" in Windows 7 on my control panel, I can see that I have already installed something called, "Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin" installed and it is dated 10/24/2010 and it is version 1.0.0.8

Despite having already the required plugin installed and showing in my control panel, programs and features, this WMP plugin does not appear on my plugins Firefox 5 Panel. So I tried to re - install with the installer of origin and available to the above URL Setup (they seem to be the same, except my installer of origin has a date of 2010).

I also tried the 'fix' option in the setup of the plugin... it still does not appear in Firefox 5, nor this browser will play a WMV file in the integrated test related troubleshooting page plugin Mozilla WMP player, or other pages that embedded the WMV players.

So the question is, why is Firefox 5 demanding I install a Windows Media Player plug-in older, version 1.0.0.8 of 2007 when I have already installed...? and why it won't work?

I went through all the troubleshooting information in Mozilla and go to the page dedicated to this subject and nothing works...
    https://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/using%20The%20Windows%20Media%20Player%20plugin%20with%20firefox

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Windows_Media_Player#Missing_plugin

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/Port25/archive/2007/04/16/Windows-Media-Player-plug-in-for-Firefox.aspx

What is the solution? The upgrade again for the 3rd time in the last 2 months, this is not an option... I'm tired of going through all the difficult steps of the upgrade and find what has changed and rejected another upgrade of the browser Mozilla and re - install plugins, extensions, modules and customizations and repair everything that does not work, as I always do now with Firefox 5.

It seems that as soon as I get most things squared away in a new browser from Mozilla, then they came out with three new releases, so when I'm still struggling with the FF5 version (as I am now) there will be version 9 I get annoying constant 'reminders' upgrade to.

    Thank you

    Digi

You carefully read and follow the instructions in the 2nd and 3rd paragraphs in the article on the creation of a folder \plugins folder installer of Firefox and copy the C:\PFiles\Plugins file in the newly created folder?

    Hello

Flash Player and Windows Media Player are not interchangeable.

Like many things on the web, the Flash Player local storage can be put to bad use. This does not necessarily mean the Flash Player without scruples or bad product - it's the sites Web/people who abuse of this (depending on your point of view).

You can configure Flash Player to block local storage on your computer. This does not necessarily all the features of Flash Player - for example with my set of Flash Player to block local storage I can still see videos on YouTube.

The controls for the Flash Player local storage can be found here: *

    Start-> Control Panel-> Flash Player (32-bit) (Tab instorage )

There is a good explanation of privacy and local storage of Flash Player here:

    I hope this helps.

    * You have not stated your version of Windows, so it's Windows 7.

  • Windows Media Player 11 and IE 8 XP Pro and can't listen to a CD I ripped,.

    original title: music licensing

I am running Windows Media Player 11 and IE8 installed on XP Pro and when I try to listen to a CD that I pulled it out of my computer, a new tab opens in Firefox (my default browser), with the following message:

The license can not be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.
To download a license, you must install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later.
To install the latest version of Internet Explorer, see the Windows Update page.

What do I need any type of license to, to listen to music, I ripped a CD I bought, and furthermore that the browser has to do with what ever automated procedure Microsoft Media Player must perform?

Suspecting that not having IE selected as the default browser might be interfering, I did so (something I'm not impressed about) and instead, was taken through to a Windows Media Technologies page http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/pdrm/en/welcome.asp?challenge=AAEAAZB*vUQ029QDmL5QfLzVnjGCf9din34fu*twoJQKPK0Agme7r3JqmhpZNJIHdVJ3JF20CQEtGSO6im53G7MUAjceYDRQUZXp2ghI5bYyB7kJjpvQoHFJNtNRWAvEXvv!fk7GbENwhn1K0gzMvWstLFBf3Esp9laOTsOCLqO7FqCfeYinJkeEGUevauivoM3NLAJOP4exrtgQX4zeRcujxi7W7AmLGDNRhh2qEgP1WmXh2PkzNZXwSn3QznsTK8!up58P10sX&DRMVer=1.4&embedded=false that provided some information about Licensing and Migrations and offered the opportunity to Download a License.  However, after selecting this button has encountered an error: 438 unknown error occurred when you store your license.

Where are the stored licenses and why is this is not the case with all the music I have on my computer?  Y at - it a way to wipe the slate clean for example. delete this dabase?

I would appreciate an overview of this and especially a viable solution.  Thanks for your time.

Microsoft actually has nothing to with licenses, this all started with copywrights, Pat.

Yes, there is a lot of BS

From there, simply download IE8, set internet options in IE, open WMP, get the license.
