Can someone clarify how it works?

http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/tick-count-vs-get-date-time-in-seconds/m-p/1074081/highlight/true#M4...

The above link is to one of the messages from Ben, where he says to calculate the difference in using the number of cycles will have problems when the reversal. How does this work? I wonder because I use a counter ticks in FPGA to calculate RPM by storing the last value in a shift register when a certain event occurs, get the current value of the counter tick and find the difference. Pretty trivial. I want to just make sure that when he returns to zero, I don't get something like the following

1 revolution / (0-4 billion).

Which would result in a peak at essentially 0 in the RPM database

Out of County of tick is a U32.  The maximum value of a U32 is 4294967295.  Create a small vi with two controls U32 and a U32 indicator.  Subtract the U32 first second and send the result to the indicator.  Set the first U32 to 4294967294 second and a voice against 5, to simulate the tick count rollover beyond the value max was increased to 0, 5.  The difference should be 7.  Number of cycles went began to 4294967294 and 4294967295, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.  It's 7 ticks.  So the switch to 0 does not affect the tick account.  This is due to upper and lower of a U32 limits.  If you did the subtraction manually, 5-4294967294, you'd get a negative number.  Since U32 cannot be negative, we must compliment of 2 and the result is a positive number, that comes to be 7.  So, you can use number of cycles at any time.

The following example shows it's true:

  • Can someone explain how Vmotion works with the new Distributed vNetwork switches?

So my days of ESX 3.5 I create a separate vswitch for my virtual switch Production and another for Vmotion and then connect the physical NIC I had planned on using for the production and VMotion switch.  Then I would make sure that these cards were physically connected to the trunk on the physical switch based on the vlan that I planned to use for each switch.

So how has all this change vNetwork switches Distributed? I know that the vNetwork Distributed switch is created at the data center level, but I'm a little confused on exactly how it works. I have watched white papers, but hoped that someone could explain it in terms laymans for me...

I think that the last post I did on this discussion help answer some of the specifics of your question about the connection of VMotion vs other connections.

  • Can someone clarify the paywall for social sharing threshold setting?

When you set up your DPS account for social sharing Adobe documentation notes that "The Paywall Threshold value determines how many items you want a user to be able to read it before you hit them with the paywall message."

Programmatically how defined an article?  Is it the same as a horizontal scan the next page or the following table of contents entry?  I run some tests and I put our account number 3 and when I discovered these shared pages I can navigate clearly beyond 3 pages horizontally.  In fact the only way for me to reach the paywall is click on an item in the table of contents that are protected.  Can someone clarify the situation?

Are a free portfolio articles? The paywall does not apply to items of free folios.  With v22, the paywall affects only the articles in detail folios.

  • Can someone explain how to operate the .prel files?

Can someone explain how PREL files work?  My C drive is o/s and programs, my D drive is the storage and project files (the file .prel) are on my E drive.

How is this supposed to be more effective/more fast?  P.E. (drive C) must constantly communicate back and forth on disks with the .prel file and all files in subfolders?  It seems it would be slower.

As I said in a previous post; My zooms in/out of the timeline are VERY slow.  It's almost 1 second before the scenario becomes greater/smaller.  Any info would be great, thanks!

Using several HARD drives, is spreading the load of IO (input/output) on different HARD drives. The controller is faster than a single HARD disk, being responsible for read/write from/to multiple locations. One of the first laws of physics is that an object can be in several places at the same time. The heads on a HARD drive are no different. If for several readings are requested, the heads will be positioned on place on trays, read and then move to the following requested location and so on. However, with multiple HARD drives and a controller of good, fast, heads of each HARD disk will be placed, if necessary, so the readings are are at the same time on several sites.

For optimal performance, a good Setup would be as follows:

C:\ system operating system and programs (more reading here that writing)

D:\ Project (in this case PREL) files

E:\ RAID 0 Scratch disk for media Cache, but does not make the files (read and write)

F:\ RAID 0 media files (more reading, but also write)

G:\ RAID 0/share in export and rendering files

Some even separate the video Audio assets assets and use another RAID 0 foreach

The disadvantage of this configuration 'ultimate performance', is that when a project is completed, to clean, move of many HARD drives and locations. There may also be issues at the check in a project, because things are scattered.

I get "good performance" by having my project, Copies of my assets and all disks from Scratch on a HARD drive. What I give up in performance, I compensate with the household chores, when the project is completed. Still, I expanded my OS/programs of my projects, with physical HDD separate.

Good luck and we hope this helps,

    Hunt

PS - Above, I mentioned RAID 0, but still more speed can be obtained through many HARD drives in the table and perhaps a RAID 50. RAID 0 is only two physical HARD disks. Also, for the RAID, I recommend a card dedicated RAID controller and NO software or capacity RAID of the MoBo.

    Hello

try a restore of the system before this happened

If necessary do in safe mode

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

A driver exist when the company ceased in favor of their scanner then it is unlikely.

However, if you have W7 32 bit then some people seem to say that they can get away with the old driver in XP compatibility mode.

In addition, this article can help - http://www.umax.com/support/knowledge/search.jsp?docs=SC00339 which, with its related links, suggests it can run in a virtual XP on your W7 and you can use that.

I don't have a scanner to test or try so not say how accurate these articles or suggestions are. But at the end of the day, it may be time to consider an upgrade of the scanner.

The bkf files are specific to the Windows XP Backup program and may not be
    used in Windows 8.

Your only recourse is to find an XP system and to restore bkf files
He can use a third-party program to save them, so that they can be
restored using this program on Windows 8. Or instead of a third party
backup program, if you don't have too much data, you can simply be
able to copy them to a CD, DVD or thumb drive so they can be copied
    the machine to Windows 8.

  • Can someone summarize how Lumetri and SpeedGrade fit into the workflow?

I always use the old fast corrective color and individual video color adjustments. Coming from a photography and Lightroom, doing it this way is a monumental pain in the *.

I don't know what's the best practice for the treatment of my images in terms of exposure, contrast, selection of specific color channels to saturate, since dark shades and clear data recovery, adding sharpness and recording it all to a preset so that I can re - use?

What is the point of SpeedGrade if ranking can we already in first? Looks like Lumetri have some kind of advantage of speed (for example, faster exports) in comparison with regular and other presets?

Exhibition, including details in dark and light tones, is dealt with in camera, for most of us, not in the post.  Only RAW formats allow a good setting of these parameters.

Sharpness is ideally also dealt with behind closed doors, more precisely with a better lens.

The rest can be adjusted using the Lumetri Panel.  Here is a video explaining how it works.

  • Please can someone explain how this circuit works?

I was digging through some old files left here by a former employee and found this.  There is a text file with it that said it was a temperature alarm that was supposed to have a green light when the temperature was between 50 and 100, but a red light at any other temperature.  I can play with it and see that the lights are changing, but how to check temperatures?  Also, how this circuit works?  I never did something like this on my own, but I see what seems to be a comparator is powered by two OPERATIONAL amplifiers.  May of you please enlighten us on this so I can prove that it works?  I have a use for this, but I need to know if it will work in its current form, or if I need to make some adjustments.

Although this tour might work in simulation there several defects that could cause problems if implemented in hardware.

First, the Thermistors generally have a nonlinear inverse relationship to temperature. In this case this isn't a huge deal since temperatures too high or too low, the two are supposed to turn on the red LED. However, defining the thresholds of comparator at 1/3 and 2/3 of Vcc2 aren't very likely to correspond to the desired temperature.

Then the LM324 has an R4 and R5 totem-pole output circuit are rather empty.  The output circuit can source or sink tens of milliamps for emitter junctions base of Q1 and Q2 may be vulnerable to damage.

When Q3 and Q4 are disabled, as shown in the picture, the current flowing through the Green LED is 30 my. Indication LEDs are usually evaluated for 20 my or less.

When Q3 or Q4 is enabled, the current flowing through the red LED is limited by the transconductance of transistors or the V-I characteristic of the diode. In both cases, the values are almost certainly in the 'let the magic smoke out' of the LED range.

Although not destructive, Q3 and Q4 are not necessary.  The logic can be changed by reversing entries for the elements of comparison and by replacing maybe to OR AND on the transistor connections.
