  Add additional software (new) should be an "opt-in" step an 'opt-out '.   It's irritating.  I don't always catch and uncheck this option during updates of product (like Flash)

  The opt-out link is probably the subject of a trade agreement between Adobe and McAfee so I suspect that it is here to stay until the expiration of the agreement - whenever it's maybe.

  Well nothing we have discussed in this forum would have caused you to lose all the files.

  Eventually, you use a different account and cannot see the files. Make sure that you are
  connected with an ADMIN account so you can access all files on the computer.

  Or you moved or deleted.

  You have a problem with a driver Atheros.

  It could be the network card is bad or the driver is damaged.

  If it is a wireless card, try to connect to the router with an ethernet cable. See if you can get an updated driver from the computer manufacturer's website.
