Can't access some secure sites using any browser on windows 7

Hi, I can't connect to hotmail from microsoft and a few other sites secured using any browser (tried ie, chrome and firefox). I can access these sites on my phone symbian on the same wifi network. On my pc, however, I could connect to the microsoft answers site.

Maybe these will help.  Also, have you checked carefully for malware?

I recently got roadrunner as my Internet service provider.  I'm unable to access any Web site other than the home pages of MSN & Yahoo.  When I try to access any other nested web site (i.e. Favorites) I get a can't connect message.  According to roadrunner, it's a problem of mircosoft software as their cheque for their system shows no problem.  Someone can help or should I get another ISP.

Oh yes, I also have a hotspot to verizon as a secondary ability that I can use without any problems.

  • Can't access some Web sites. Internet is to slow down, it won't work

Original title: can't access some Web sites.

I have a problem with one of the computers on my network.

Some Web sites will not load on one of the computers (although on all others).  The behavior is either it load so slow that it does not (speedtest.net) or it expires entirely (skype.com). This problem persisted for several months (it is one of the computers of my colleague and I administer the network and machines in our office).

    I checked things:

    1. this problem occurs in IE, Chrome and FireFox

    2. it does not occur if I use a web proxy such as hide.me

    3. it is persistent even in SafeMode with network.

    4. ipconfig/all parameters are the same between this machine and the other without a problem.

    5. the problem with Windows Firewall disabled.

6 ipconfig/flushdns does not solve the problem.

    7. no viruses or malware were found.

    8. on those ping timeout works very well (skype.com with ~ 140ms)

I'm really running out of things I can think beyond trying to reinstall Windows, but I prefer not to do so.  Are there possible ideas?

    Hello

Very rare problem. My first thought was a virus or malware but I searched a bit and found a solution.

You need to go to Device Manager and should remove the Ethernet device in the list. The reset the laptop and let XP Reinstall the device.
After that, clients should run Windows Update correctly.

After Windows Update try to access the Web sites again.

    Good bye

  • Cannot access the microsoft Web site using any browser

    Access Web sites

Try all 3 browsers... Chrome IE7 and Mozilla. I can't to any microsoft Web site. No problem to do anything else.

With Chrome... I get OOPS! and an error message. IE7 displays a page similar to AI "browser down" page and just microsoft

    sites.

    Thanks for any info

I can't to any microsoft Web site.

Sounds like a DNS issue.   Use nslookup to check.   Use ping n 1 w 1 to attempt to cache a browser search.  Use ipconfig/displaydns to check if the search is cached.   A problem with many Microsoft research is that they have several alias and have very short life values.   It is very difficult to take any advantage of cached searches.  An alternative is to substitute the search using your HOSTS file, but then the IP addresses of host Microsoft tend to be transitory.  In fact, this point suggests something to check first: make sure that there are no replacement of microsoft in your HOSTS file.   Remove them and do an ipconfig/flushdns, if there is.   ; )

  • I can't access a Web page from ANY browser! Help.

I tried Google Chrome, Safari and IE8, but no matter what, every Web page I try to go to, none of them appear. But I have an internet connection.

Edit: The reason I know that I have the internet connection, because I was able to update my outdated AVG Free and I was able to connect on IMVU without problem.

How do you know that you have an Internet connection? Please give some more information:

    1. How do you connect to the Internet? Cable? DSL? Dialup? If you have a cable/DSL modem, the lights are on?
2 If the cable or DSL, is your computer connected directly to the cable/DSL modem or do you have a router?
    3. do not connect cable or wireless?

    4. Please do:

Start > run > cmd [Enter]
The command prompt opens. At the command prompt, type:

    [Enter] ipconfig/all

We are interested in the IP address of the network adapter that you are using (ethernet cabling, wireless network to wireless), IP address of the gateway and DNS settings.

    At the command prompt, enter:

    Ping www.yahoo.com [Enter]

You get a ping or answer expire?

    5. and finally, to give the answers to:

The first Question of troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what has changed between the time things worked and the time they do not have?

The second issue of Windows troubleshooting: what is the status of virus/malware of the machine? If you think it's clean, what programs (and versions) allows you to determine this?

  • I can't access some websites using Firefox. For my own site, I get "file not found". My Yahoo downloads in the form of text. No problems with browsers IE or Chrome

I can't access some websites using Firefox. Pages say "File not found" or in the case of Yahoo and Facebook, they resemble the on-screen text files. No problems with my computer and it is not the case with my browsers IE and Chrome. Already deleted and reinstalled Firefox and it has not solved the problem

You can also do a check of malware with some digitization programs of malicious software on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.

All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

  • I can't access some websites from my computer

In recent weeks, I've been unable to access one of my favorite sites. I can also access some features of the iTunes app which worked fine before (in the iTunes Store). I can't access my antivirus tech support either. I called my IPS and there is nothing wrong with that. They were able to access the site, I couldn't, so the site is not offline. I tried the Fixit, but it did not help. My IPS technology had me run a check of the computer and it says that the site was very good but it does not communicate with my computer or my computer does not communicate with him.  Why is this happening all of a sudden? I tried everything and nothing works. I can access the site of the library computer and access all the features in the iTtunes store but I don't want to continue to use the computer in the library when I have a perfectly good home. Nothing has changed in my settings will be why my computer thus contacted some sites and not others? I'm seriously frustrated by that. Someone at - it any suggesttions that I have not tried? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

First, run a full scan of the computer using a malware removal tool. You can download and install Malwarebytes site and install it in the computer to run a full scan:

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/

After you have confirmed that there is no malware on the computer, you can try the steps outlined in this article as the preliminary steps to deal with the question:

If the steps in this article does not help, try the Fixit in this article (or you can follow the manual steps as well) and see if the problem is resolved:
