  It is possible that you have corrupted cache files; You can try to delete the cache folder and check if that helps. You can also temporarily disable your firewall and check if all of the parameters of the firewall is a cause. Better support for the effort, I'd say uninstall you the current Windows live Messenger and install the latest version (http://download.live.com/messenger)

  I am Windows Live Essentials 2011 in Windows 7 64 bit, it works well, but yesterday after that I installed a few system requirements (IIS) and restarted my computer, I couldn't use messenger with error code 80080005:
