Can't format/use SDHC card 2GB

Hello

I have a SD card 2 GB and used in my Nikon D40 for years. It worked very well.

Yesterday, when I turn on the camera, the camera says the card was improper use and must be changed.

I pulled it out of the camera and set it in my laptop PC (Windows 7), mp, PC, said that the card is not formatted. I followed the system of Windows messages to try to format it, but at the end he came up with a message such as "Windows could not complete the format".

I tried to use the Windows Disk Manager to format, but windows says 'format was not entirely successful.

I tried to use some programs of trainer 3rd party, such as SD Formatter v4.0, but they colud not format and said that the card has been write protected, even material of write protection switch on the map was in the locked position.

I checked the properties of the card, windows, said that the capacity of the card is 0 bytes.

My question:

Is it really damaged and can not be fixed?

Thanks in advance.

Hello

in this case, the card seems to be faulty and you can contact sandisk support to ask for a replacement under warranty.

I hope its still in warranty, so you can replace it with a new brand.

  • New 8 GB Fuze/tried to use SDHC card w/Rhapsody to GO another Fuze songs

Don't know if this has been asked before, if so, I apologize.

I bought my son a new Fuze 8 GB and we tried to plug and play its SDHC 4 gb card installed with Rhapsody to Go of his old Fuze songs. Of course the files do not play, then we dropped on it.

Now, the "rocket" is strange. He has an album with "!" as he has title and I have no way to remove it. I tried to make the drive and no luck and I have pluged in the desktop PC and the "!" will not appear. My son now says he sees a folder named 'Y'... so strange.

We have 4 Rhapsody, updated, we use Windos Vista on our laptop and Windows XP on our desktop. The "rocket" was the V2... 26 firmware installed at the factory.

Another thing that happens is when plug us on the desktop PC, the Rhapsody to show files to GO forward 'with purchase", but plugged into the laptop, they show the transfer 'OK '.

    I wonder...

We could have ruined the Fuze8GB trying to use the old memory card with the Rhapsody to Go top songs that were intended for use only with the old player?

Could a reformat will erase the question?

Help please and thanks in advance!

Prior to re - format, try to error checking. He could get because of these weird files.

Put the "rocket" MSC mode (under Settings/System Settings/USB mode), plug it, right-click on it, properties, tools, Error-checking.  If she asks you if you want to save the bad channels or bad thing, click No.

Otherwise, Yes, a format it will also fix, but it will take all of your music with it. Error checking can be a little more surgical thereon, if it works.

I do not use Rhapsody, but maybe someone else here can help you with that - and you can also try Rhapsody customer service. You paid for these songs, and you should be able to use them. See if you can get someone on the phone and be arrogant (politely).

As I understand it and I could be wrong, Rhapsody knows computer on which it is installed on and digital-rights keys it sends the exported files include information about the computer on which they came. So a computer seems famiiar, and the other does not - hence the difference.

  • Can not format the memory card

Canon that PowerShot SX 10 IS reformatted not 16 GB SanDisk Ultra.  Camera says memory card error.  Everything else seems to work on the camera.  Is there a way to fix this?

Your camera specifications say that it will work with the following cards, memory card SD/SDHC, MultiMediaCard, MMC Plus card, HC MMC Plus card.

Some memory cards note their speeds by a "class." Canon cameras are recommended to be used with nominal class cards 4 to SD (Standard-definition movies) and class 6 for HD (high definition movies) or more because of the large amount of data written to the card. As long as map meets the following standards for the card, the memory card must be compatible regardless of class or the speed rating.

    SD

Standard Secure Digital card supports up to 2 GB capacity.

    SDHC

Secure Digital High Capacity currently supports up to 32 GB capacity.

    MMC

Multimedia card supports up to 1 GB capacities.

    MMCPlus

MultiMediaCardPlus supports up to 4 GB currently.

    HC MMCPlus

High capacity MultiMediaCardPlus supports up to 8 GB now.

  • Re: Satellite U400 - Toshiba SD Format Utility works do not with SDHC card

I bought a Toshiba U400-10 opportunity and I am in the process of cleaning in Vista 64 stall.
Everything seems to work except 2 utilities.

Toshiba SD Format and Boot Toshiba SD utilities.
I guess that they do not work because I am trying to format a SDHC card and the utilities are not compatible with SDHC cards (SD only).

I hope that someone can confirm my suspicions.
    Thanks in advance.

Download the manuals for this machine and check the list of all supported cards that can be used with it.
You can download manuals on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_manuals.jsp

By the way: this old machine works perfectly with Win7 32 bit. Why you n t use Win7? It is much better than Vista.

  • Satellite L630 does not recognize 8 or 32 GB SDHC cards running Windows7 32 bit

The maximum capacity of the SD memory card is 2 GB. The maximum capacity of SDHC memory cards is 32 GB. The maximum capacity of SDXC memory cards is 64 GB. »
Why my L630 is not recognize my Sandisk MicroSDHC cards in the adapters provided in the bridge media slot. He considers SD cards rather than SDHC cards and they cannot be used.

Card MicroSDHC operating in the media slots of bridge of a notebook from ASUS and Mac pro, but not the Toshiba L630 PSK041 037001, the problem lies in the Toshiba. It works in an on the Toshiba USB adapter.

I reinstalled the Realtek card reader driver, but this did not help.

How can I get the SDHC card to read in the bridge media slot? Toshiba has another driver?

    Thank you

AFAIK the card reader in this series of mobile takes care of the multimedia suite:

    SD card, 8 MB - 2 GB
Mini SD Card, 32 MB - 2 GB
    Micro SD memory card,
SDHC 4 GB to 16 GB card
    MultiMediaCard,
Card Memory Stick, 8 to 256 MB
Memory Stick Pro, 256 MB to 2 GB card

SDHC 32 GB are not supported.
    SDXC is not supported

  • Satellite Pro A60: Can I put the graphics card ATI Radeon 7000

I have an A60 Satellite with the Mobility Radeon 7000 Graphics Pro. I play world of Warcraft, but it won't work on the laptop, because this graphical configuration is not supported. Is is possible to upgrade to a better?

I was told that it is not possible because the chip is attached to the motherboard.

    Or Nick

Unfortunately, the graphics card laptop cannot be upgraded. It is simply not possible due to the architecture of the laptop. Laptops are just different and you should know that only a few parts such as the memory or HARD drive are extensible.

You can try to use a card external chart like this for example:

But I m not sure if it s really an option.

As much as I KNOW, the only difference in XC is the format it uses, and some readers would be unable to read. For more readings

    http://KB.SanDisk.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2520/~/SD%2Fsdhc%2Fsdxc-specifications-and-compatibility

    SDXC and host cards
-Can be used ONLY with SDXC host devices SDXC memory cards.
-SDXC memory cards will NOT work with SD / SDHC host devices.

I read where you can use XC cards HC readers but you must format it in Fat32 not exFat that XC uses for her to work.

  • SDHC cards can be formatted NTFS?

I would like the "NTFS" format so that I can save copies of my regular Outlook Backup files on SDHC cards!  I use Windows 7 on both of my computers.

When I try to copy the Outlook Backup for SDHC cards I have, I get a message on the file is too big, although the display of properties seems to show that there is enough space!

The cards I have are shown are formatted as "FAT."  I guess that the problem has something to with the "block size" of the file linked to the "block size" used in the 'FAT' format!  If this ISN ' T my problem, WHAT is?

If I can format/reformat a SDHC card to NTFS to solve my problem, please give me instructions step by step.  If there is another solution, I would certainly receive!  On my e-mail address please reply!

    Thank you

  • Can I use a card SD of exfat?

I have a class 10 32 GB micro SD SDHC. I formated with exfat, and now the phone cannot use it. It just says that it is damaged.

    Question 1.

Can the use of photons Q exfat formatted SD card.

    Question 2.

SDHD card can be formatted for use exfat in the first place, or is that for SDXC cards?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think if you reformat the card in the form of fat, your phone would be able to see and it. I don't know any phones currently usable by exfat.

I format your card in fat, then put the card in the phone and format using the phone. This will add all necessary partitions.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you

  • Satellite P200-1JY and Win7 - SDHC card can not be read

    Hello
I am owner of a Satellite P200-1JY, my OS is windows 7 and I can't read SDHC cards, but only the SD card.
On the same PC under windows XP, I could read SDHC cards!
So I should have a driver problem?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

First of all, I checked your manual for Satellite P200 and it supports the following types of SD card:
    -SD up to 2GB
    -SDHC: 4 GB

You use these SD cards or with more capacity?

If you use these supported cards I will try to update the driver of the card reader. You can try the Flash Media Driver for Vista, you can get on the official page of Toshiba.
    Check this box!

    ==========================================
    Are you running Windows XP?

You should be able to format the card using the camcorder
menu... Check your camcorder owner's manual...

And FWIW... formatting the card erases the content... If you
having useful files on the map do not format.

Another thought... If you are running Windows XP, it is possible
that your system is not compatible with the SDHC technology.
If you have an external media player, it may be worth trying to
Remove the camcorder SDHC card and insert it in the
Media player. This can help you to download video.

  • Can be upgraded the firmware on my Satellite Pro A120 to accept SDHC cards

I have a Satellite Pro A120 and use the slot for SD card frequently, however, the capacity of memory cards can sometimes be restrictive, is it possible to update the firmware for SDHC cards and if so, how.

    Hello

Unfortunately not possible since it s card reader has NO firmware and it s a stand-alone device that has nothing to do with the BIOS (firmware) of the machine.

So, if she can't simply do not support. :/

    See you soon
