  I have Windows 8 and sometimes I can hear the audio on movies and videos, but other times I can't.  I uninstalled the driver seems to automatically reinstall itself, and I checked to see that it is up-to-date. What is so strange, is that I will restart the computer after I can't get audio, then I'll get it back, and then once I stop the video for a little, it won't, until, in other words, I do it all automatic uninstall reinstall again, then restart.

  This can be caused because corrupted/incompatible audio driver. I suggest to visit the computer manufacturer's website and install the latest audio driver and check if it makes a difference.

  I downloaded a 2002 documentary to my laptop.  I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.  The first player that comes automatically to Windows Media Player. When I hit 'Play', read but not audio video.  I then opened the file with VLC media player and video and sound were present.  I then copied on my flash drive and plugged into my Oppo 93 universal player to watch on TV.  Video again, but no sound.  The file is identified as an MKV file.  I downloaded other programs in this way and sound and video were present and it played on my Oppo.  Can I change the type of file to avi?  Will this work? If so, how?  Thank you

  What you can do in this case, is first to check what type of CODEC that is in your video. You can do this by going to your computer and open the video with VLC. During video playback, pause. Go to the menu bar and select 'Tools', then select 'CODEC INFORMATION '.

  Once in this window, please select the 'Codec' tab and read the part that says: part 1. As you can see, you will be able to identify the type of CODEC.

  Once you have this information visit the manufacturer's Web site and look for the codec in the table. If you do not, it means that the Oppo 93 does not support these files audio codec.

  Hey, guys! This is my first time on these forums so I hope, it will be a good experience for me! So to start recorded this video with my friend on my iPhone and I imported the video on my computer. I slap it in first, and I hear the audio. My playback devices are 100% correct. For some reason, it doesn't let me untie the audio from the video, so I feel that the audio is not yet there in the first place. Is there anything you can do to help me? I tried to convert the file to an audio file just and when I put it in first, it randomly cut the audio and played random bits of audio. When reading it without first, it worked to agree.

  Most likely, it is a VFR check... variable cadence. PrPro plays much better with the media of the CFR, constant rate.

  Recommend that you download and run MediaInfo, drag and drop your video file from Finder/Explorer on it, and then go to the tree, get a screenshot and who post here...
