  I have vista SP2, I connected to generic stereo speakers using the green light at the back of the computer. Vista does not recognize the speakers. Before SP2, I lose sound when VISTA is in standby mode. He would then turn off the stereo speaker and replace the digital output device driver... However since SP2 I can't get VISTA to recognize that I have just connected speakers and not a digital output device.

  I had no noise for a week.  I've done all the troubleshooting suggested, downloaded drivers updated, try a new cable for speaker, tucked in a system before his departure, all for nothing doesn't.  On the test of the volume in the monitor menu we sound of them but by clicking the volume doesn't make no sound.

  Hello! I have a windows vista Home premium. last week, I decided to buy windows 7 Home premium that I did. I booted from the CD, installed Win7 and everything was fine. There was no "video and video games controller" or something like that and my sound card is not in any of the categories devicemanager. All I see in the other devices section in Device Manager is a "multimedia Audio Controller" which has a warning sign yellow (!) beside him. Maybe it's my sound card. is it? Please help, as I got my sound back!
