Cannot access my information system

Hello.

I have a laptop Acer Aspire which worked OK until a month ago.
Started with each time that I turned to my computer that has started making the automatic updates that took about 30 minutes. And then when I turn back on it tells me that the updates were not properly installed.
SO I tried to access Windows Update to check and then realized that it does not open. I click on the symbol for windows update and a window appears and closes before you click on anything.
Same thing happens when I try to access my Information System, click on the symbol and a window appears and closes.
What can I do? !!

Toni

Hello AntoniaC,

Try to start your system in safe mode:

  1. Restart your computer if it is running.
  2. Press and hold the F8 key for 3 seconds after your computer powers initially on.
  3. Once you see the Advanced Boot Options menu (or beep) you can stop.
  4. Up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.
  5. Select Mode safe mode with networking and press ENTER.
  6. You should see drivers loading, it may take a few moments.
  7. You should then be at the Welcome screen.
  8. Connect to your computer using an account with administrator privileges. Now, you download (free) MalwareBytes from here: http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=mncol install, Update then do a scan of your system in safe mode, to ensure that it is indeed clean! Once the scan done remove anything it finds. Simply restart your PC to see if your problem has been resolved!

If your system is clean, then run this analysis of Auditor system in SafeMode below files:

1. click on Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click on command promptand select run as administrator.

2. click on continue or provide credentials admin if prompted.

3. in the command prompt window type the following, sfc/scannow (yes he's a space after sfc), and then press ENTER. This analysis may take some time to complete. This will replace missing/corrupted system with the right files from Microsoft files.

Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!

My system XP computer is part of a network using a router. I also have a laptop Windows 7, using the same network. Reference Dell set up a password so that the network is not accessible without password, reducing the risk of piracy. Now, I can not in the XP system because of the defined password.  How to reset or enter the password on the XP computer?

    Hi Scottid2,

    1. do you receive error messages when you access the Windows XP system?

    2. What is the password being set by Dell?

You can check in the Windows 7 system if the password protected sharing is enabled. When protected by password sharing is enabled, people using other computers on your network cannot access your shared folders or printers unless they have a user account on your computer.

You can turn off password protected sharing and check if it helps.

  • Windows automatically restarts constantly, cannot access the system restore point, cannot access the computer in safe mode

    Hi all

For the not 24 hours I tried to access my computer in normal mode. When I turn on the pc, it says "configuration data 1 of 3 steps...". 0% complete"he never spent 0% and within seconds, it automatically restarts and starts again. It's so frustrating! I have a windows vista pc (purchased in ' 06). I can only access my desktop in SafeMode.

I tried to perform a system restore, but not like he says "recovery disk is not the restore point selected. What should I do? I tried to manually create a restore point, but cannot access the system and Maintenance, while in safe mode. I can't do anything but literally access the internet. How can I get Windows back to factory settings it is with these limited resources? I have a Dell reinstallation DVD.

I searched my programs and found that recently Windows automatically updated and downloaded "Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer" and "for 2007 Office system Compatibility Pack '. Now, I think it has something to do with it, because they were the most recent updates, before the pc crashed. But I also fear that it may be a virus, which has completely hijacked this PC. How am I supposed to get rid of a bug, if I can't even get the necessary antivirus?

Sorry for the ranting, but it's so stressful when my pc is completely down. Please, please please help me. Thank you in advance for reading this same!

    Hello

you talk about restore and system recovery disc in the same breath

    they are 2 different things

and you can NOT create a restore of yesterday and today!

    yesterday is gone

If it does not already; You can't do

1st thing to try is a restoration of the system in safe mode

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

If that does not read this information

the link below is how to download and get a vista disk startup repair, which you can start from the

    The malware removal:

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

  • Corrupt file system cannot access chkdsk

The file systems on the disk structure is corrupted and unusable.  Run chkdsk on the volume c:

but cannot access Chkdsk as structure of files is NTFS

    Hello Terry1897,

    ·         When exactly do you get this error?

    ·         You are able to start your computer desktop?

    ·         What are the changes to the computer before having this problem?

    ·         What is the error you get when you try to run the CHKDSK utility?

Note: You must back up the data (files and documents) before troubleshooting on the corrupted volume, because there is a risk of data loss if the C: volume is damaged or unusable.

I suggest that you run the CHKDSK utility in the Windows recovery environment.

    1. put the Windows Vista or Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
    2. press a key when you are prompted.
    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
    4. click on repair your computer.
    5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
    6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    At the command prompt, type:

    CHKDSK [drive:] [/ p] | [/ r]

[drive:] Specifies the drive to check.

/ p check even if the drive is not marked dirty, bad.

/r locates bad sectors and recovers readable information (implies / p).

  • Cannot access information on external hard drive in Garland

I have two FireWire G-drive hard daisy chained and connected to my iMac. I am able to access the information for once, but after a while I can't access information from it anymore.

For libraries of Final Cut Pro, it will say "Final Cut Pro cannot save the changes to the library."

For iPhoto libraries, he will say it is "Impossible to write in the"[name of library]"library." Check that you are allowed to write to the directory of the library.

When you try to move anything in the Finder, it will say "the operation cannot be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code-50).

So the temporary solution that worked so far is to stop the iMac, disconnect both drives, start the computer, and then connect again. This will cause growth to work again, but only for a time very short before send me mistakes once again.

    How can I fix?

    Thank you

I hope you both of these backup discs because they failed to comply and when they do, you may lose all your data. Don't do anything until you know that the data is safe. Have you run disk utility to try to repair the disks?

  • Cannot access Windows software for Information management. Windows XP Professional Windows 8 Pro upgrade will not work.

It started a month or two ago when the print spooler has stopped working. 'Systems', or had no dependencies. It turns out that none of the services had dependencies, but everything still worked (except the print spooler). Then, I could not access "system information". I tried to restore to an earlier date, that wouldn't work. Tried to do a picture of Macruim Reflect - no luck there either.  My laptop works fine, although slow. Got the printer to work. This lack of progress, I decided I would just upgrade to windows 7, then decided to Windows 8. Me am upgrading of Windows 8 Pro: he went through "preparation" 100% of the screen. On the screen "Get The Latest" I tried 'install updates now' and 'no thank you', the results were the same. On the page "Check your system", he comes back: 'something has happened. Sorry, we're having some difficulty to determine if your PC can run Windows 8. If please close Setup and try again. "He wouldn't have spent so far. The problem may lie in the fact that the upgrade can not see the information system and/or can not say that I am on Windows XP. Is there something I can do for the upgrade to continue?

    Hello

Most of the older machines running XP are not compatible with the help of Windows 8.

Follow these steps before you install Windows 8.

Go to your laptop manufacturer's website and check if Windows 8 drivers are available for your make and model laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 8 does not work for you.

Download and run the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant of to see if your machine is compatible Windows 8:

"Sometimes Microsoft offers updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc..

You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

    'Remove an update'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the performance and security of your system"

Whenever they open the file it says it gives the following message "information MS cannot open this file. Information MS cannot open this file.

They should use Notepad to open the file when it is a txt file.

Another way to create a portable system information file is to select the hotkey Win + R, type msinfo32 , and press ENTER . Click file, Save and name the file. This method creates a file with an extension of nfo file. Perhaps the recipient expects the file in this format.

  • Information system may not collect information. Unable to access Windows Management Instrumentation software. Management of Windows files can be moved or missing.

    Information system.
Popular management files moved or missing.

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 key so that the start and go in safe mode with networking).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

If it does not, then thanks for posting any repetitive error message in Event Viewer on startup (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.

If this does not work, you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html as well as the upgrade from an earlier version of the Windows section of the following: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918884.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work.  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version on system with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled cane and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to do a slipstream drive as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

I hope one of these procedures can solve your problem.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.  Return message anyway so we know how it turns out.

Original title; DVD - Rw disc

When I insert a cd it plays ok automatically. However if I open 'Computer' and try to access the information on the disk by clicking on the player it does not. Initially, I got a response. "Windows cannot access the specific device, a file, or a path. You can not have appropriate permission to access the item "." I ran the restore to an earlier date of restoration. Now, when I try to access the disc in the drive, I get the answer. "application not found".  If I right click on the drive I get the options and if I press 'Open' the tracks of the disc are displayed. I recently loaded software MP3 "Philips Songbird" on my system, but being not not happy with it I uninstalled it. I also uninstalled "itunes" & "icloud. Will be this cause any kind of problem? I have re-installed "itunes."  Can anyone help?  Faulkner W
