Cannot access switch GS108E on Windows 10

After the upgrade to windows 10 I can't access my GS108E switch. Get "an error occurred communicating with the server. "Error message: HTTP request error". No idea what is the problem?

I have reset the default switch & it works now in WIN10. Wish I could label each port so I don't know what connected to it. It's a disappointment, not knowing that I have connected to all 8 ports. I should be able to label each port with a name. This can be done? Thanks for your help. Close the case.

Live chat with Linksys re: NAS200: my side of it.

On a NAS200 I install a user called 'jon' with a personal file and a password. Problem is, I don't see how now to access folder Jon of Windows XP in the same way that I can access the public folder.

I get "\\Nas200_9792de\public disk" Windows and files read/write without problem, including several subdirectories, I created it there.

After you create a user, I guess I would then be able to access the file with something like \\Nas200_9792de\jon for example. I tried a drive letter of mapping, but get an error message

on "network folder is mapped currently...... try a different username. But

    nothing alse is currently mapped.

If I try"add a network place" I get "the folder you entered is not valid. Please choose another. "

I've updated the firmware to V3.4R75, but this made no difference

I searched throughout the "NAS200 User Guide.pdf" and he gives no explanation on how to access the personal folders of Windows.

I searched also Linksys FAQ but could not find a help there.

    Sincerely, Shaun.

You can try using the network drive mapping utility that is included on the cd to map the file. To map a shared folder, please follow the instructions of thses:

The shared folder opens automatically, and a new window will appear to inform you that the shared folder has been mapped. Click the OK button. On the mapping of shared folder screen, click on the close button. Double Clcick workstation. the shared folder will appear as a network drive.

  • Cannot access my profile. (Windows XP SP3) Problem apparently because of Windows Installer.

I can't connect to my profile, apparently because of a problem with Windows Installer.  It starts to open a session and when I try to access my documents I get a message unable to access my profile and if I'm logged a temporary profile: "Details: access to refusedowever, everything seems to be there, except for my usual wallpaper and I can access my files."  In the msconfig Services tab, Windows Installer shows as stopped. I tried to reinstall, but it won't download because of the error of windows install. The keyboard started to do fun things like key assignment got confused. My admin profile works except for the Windows Installer problem which stops remove me or update Java. I checked for malware and viruses (no) run "sfc/scannow" ad "chkdsk /f.  All system restore points are missing.  If I can access my files, the system asks me my first and last name and initials prior to providing access. I have now the temp profile open in safe mode and note that a file that I saved when you previously logged into the temp profile has been saved successfully to the new folder that I created. In addition, when you are connected to normal mode, I found that I couldn't access to Mozilla Firefox, open MS Internet Explorer and click on a link to something (can't remember what) and Mozilla Firefox open as usual.

Things that I did just before this problem appeared: installed and run Malwarebytes and Superantispyware, tried to update Java and VLM Media Player using AVAST! interface, and then without using AVAST! interface. Both failed, but something else I've updated OK. Tried to download and install Windows Installer 4.5 (without success). So I then tried to repair/reinstall command of the race by using regedit and regserver command screen.

I wonder whether to follow the instructions in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756. However, as it asks me to back up the registry before you edit it. As all my previous restore points disappeared, I don't trust to back up the registry. How can I back up the registry of my external hard drive?

You have a damaged or corrupted user profile.  A way to recover from this condition is to perform a system restore, but since you have no restore points, you will need to recover with another method.  The usual way to recover is to create a new user profile and then copy the data from the damaged to the new profile user profile.  This procedure is not usually difficult.  Choose from the selection below:

"How to recover damaged Windows XP user profile"

"How to copy a user profile data damaged to a new stars in Windows XP"

Almost always, corruption of the profiles is accompanied, otherwise caused corruption in the file system.  At an ideal time, it is strongly recommended to perform a 'chkdsk' operation with the "/ R" or "Repair" option.  Note that this operation will take place at the next reboot before Windows loading completely, cannot be interrupted and can take more than a few hours depending on the size/speed of hard disk and the number of errors found...  Sometimes, this in-and-of-itself can solve the problem.

  • Cannot access the calendar from Windows Vista Home Premium all of a sudden... get error message indicating it is disabled... Help, please!

After 1 year with the help of Windows Calendar on Vista Home Premium, I'm suddenly not able to use it (impossible to add new appointments and stored all appointments have mysteriously disappeared). I get a message saying "You cannot add appointments to a calendar that is disabled" the details of State "access denied." ... How is - it happened 'out of nowhere '? How to activate it? It's very frustrating... I searched the forums and Microsoft google the question. I found some results suggesting to either change the registry or download the fix automatically and manually merge in my registry. I tried both with no result. I have event tried to remove the old calendar and create a new one... still nothing. Any suggestions? Help, please!

    Hello NYintelligentinvestor,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

Sorry, you have a problem with that.  What type of entry you are trying to add?

Look at the calendar and on the left side, to half way down you will see a small block that will have something like "NYintelligentivnestor schedule" - there is a small block to the left of this one. To activate the calendar, click on the box to place a check mark in it.

If there are calendar shown in this block, then go to "file" on the main toolbar and click on "new calendar" - one should then appears in a block with a check mark in the box on the left.

I hope this helps. Please let us know status.  Thank you! Engineer James Microsoft Support answers visit our Microsoft answers feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

  • Cannot access control panel or Windows updates and not more sound

Yesterday, I restarted my computer and a message keeps popping up that I am victim of software counterfeiting (in reference to Microsoft Windows) when I bought the computer at Future Shop just a year ago. Also, now there is a red X on the speaker icon in the corner and said "no audio output device is installed". I followed the instructions mentioned in another post, as well as other Web sites, and nothing seems them works. Above everything else, I can not access the control panel. It appears and disappears immediately. If this were not already enough, Windows Update does not work or the other. The icon is there, but whenever I click on it, nothing happens.
I only bought the computer a year ago, and there is already a long list of problems with it. I'm at the end of my rope! If someone is brave enough to tackle these problems, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

  • Cannot access onenote on my Windows Mobile 8

Trying to access my ONENOTE files but unable to do

    Hi Sunil,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

    (1) you use OneNote application or Microsoft Office OneNote?

    (2) what is the exact error you get when you go to the OneNote?

First of all, I suggest that you try a soft reset of the phone.  Before doing so, go to settings > applications > Internet Explorer > delete history.  Once that is done, go to phone storage > phone > temporary files > delete.  After doing this, remove the battery of the phone for 2 minutes, replace and restart the phone.

You can read the article and check if it helps:

All windows files Explorer allows access to local (hard drive) C: and D: (DVD) drives. It is not possible nor access readers mapped (that refer to our server of UNC file paths) - i.e. the network drives.

  • Cannot access my account on window 7

I have hp laptop with Windows 7... but now there is a problem when I start my laptop after giving password message "unspecified account" one there

    Hi Farhan,

    1. What is the full error message or error code?

    2. you have another user account on your computer?

    3. are you able to connect to the computer after getting this error message?

I suggest to start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

    Safe boot mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Note: If the problem still persists in safe mode and if you are unable to connect to this account specific so I suggest you to activate the administrator build-in account and check if that helps.

Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer by using the power button on the computer.

    b. do one of the following:

If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you must try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to repair, and then press and hold F8.

    c. on the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select repair your computer and press ENTER. (If your computer is not listed as an option, then your computer doesn't understand no repair preinstalled recovery options, or your network administrator has disabled the.)

    d. Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.

    e. in the System Recovery Options menu, click a tool to open it.

    f. Select the tool to restart System option.
