  • Cannot activate Microsoft Reader - custody, saying: "Microsoft's Activation Server is offline for regular maintenance to upgrade now, or it may have technical difficulties now."

It is so aggravating! I have books 200 - ish, but because of this, I can't read a single one of them! I tried to make this work for the last week, go step by step in all directions, by calling technical support (the number they list led to a non-functional expansion) and try outages.

I finally managed to get hold of a person on a technical support chat and they closed on me! I kid you not - when "Larry" told me to call (and every time I tried, it was without air circulation) and has refused to let me speak to his supervisor, he closed the cat!

Is that what we do here? I just want to be able to read my books!

  • Cannot not software activate Microsoft Reader on Windows 7

After I installed Windows 7 Professional, I used IE to go to the site of Microsoft Reader Activation to activate my newly installed copy of Microsoft Reader. After logon and passing through the activation process, I got the familiar message that activation is successful. However, when I tried to open an e-book than required activation a message informing me that I don't have permission to open this title. It is advisable to reactivate the MS Reader software.

I tried this several times without success.

I tried to launch IE as an administrator and not as an administrator. During an attempt without site administrator should restart IE as an administrator, just as it did with Windows Vista. So, there seems to be no problem with either the Web site or with IE.

Yesterday, I installed Windows 7 after downloading to a COMPUTER technical school site. This version of Windows 7 doesn't seem to be a pre version or rc version. This is version 6.1.7600 build 7600 running on a Dell Inspiron 530 with a processor Intel 6320. Maybe someone can advise if I can continue to use this version indefinitely or that it will be necessary to upgrade to a commercial version later.

This version works beautifully and has no seeds other than a problem streaming to an xbox I think I found the answer to elsewhere in this forum.

I have installed many programs and updates, and it seems that there is no other major problem either with having program incompatibilities. Until this sound as solid as a rock. Much better than Vista.

  • Microsoft Reader 2.1.1 is not enabled even if the activation was successful on the Web page on a PC under XP SP3.

Hi, I bought an ebook DMR in MS Reader a year or two he y a. I could download it and read it on the drive. I don't remember if I had to activate the player.  Today, I bought 2 other ebooks DMR.  When I tried to download, the site of the seller indicated that I need to enable the MS Reader.  So I've updated to the latest and tried to activate MS Reader.  I had loaded the drive as an administrator.  Even if the activation page says that I managed to activate the reader, I can't download the books from each vendor of books. Both said that I need to activate.  Even my old book now says I need to activate the player.  I tried to activate again and even turned off Comodo (my firewall) and ESET (my antivirus).  Once again, the says it all activation site is going well, but the sites of the said seller that is not.  I created another ID and tried to activate under this ID.  This 2nd ID gets just the error of Activation and the verbiage that Microsoft's Activation Server is unavailable.  I was pulling my hair out on all day trying different combinations to see if I can get this to work without success. Can someone help me please?  Thank you.

My computer is a HP Media Center PC running on Windows Vista. When I played a movie Blu - ray on HP DVD play BD and HD DVD, he asked me "do you want to activate your reader now? I clicked on "Yes" and then, it leads to "the page cannot be found" on the Internet Explorer. Uninstall HP DVD Play. MediaSmart installation DVD of the URL given below instead.

  • Cannot activate XP Repair, installation ID does not work on the phone

Hi all, I recently had to run a repair of Windows XP Edition family due to a driver issue and finally managed to return to the start screen and try to log in, but it wont let me connect you without activation (I suppose some confusion because it is installed on my computer for more than 30 days, but the repair made me have to reactivate).  So, I tried to start safe mode and was able to connect here in the version without networking.  Unfortunately, when I try to activate by phone (no network connection, the default ethernet driver was the cause of all this to start), the automated thing will not take the installation ID that is displayed in the activation page.  I know that I have a valid product key and the original disk, as I used it a year ago to re - install on a new hard drive, but I have no way to actually enter the product key!

Assumptions on how I can try to work around this problem for long enough to activate online (I use a USB wireless, but the computer must be started in order to establish the connection), or why the crazy long installation ID does not work?

    Thank you very much
    Eric

When I try to activate my Microsoft Reader on Windows Mobile 6.5 (on a Samsung Omnia ii) or Windows 7 Home 32 bit, I got the message: Activation activation error Server Microsoft is not available to Microsoft's Activation Server is currently offline for regular maintenance or upgrade, or she may have technical difficulties now. Please try to activate later. At first I waited patiently the mainenance remaining or the technical problem to be solved... but I now have the message every time I tried to turn on the last two weeks. The server is really low? How the world do we get support on MS Reader? There has been a lot of complaints about the support for this product. Normally, I was able to get my camera Windows Mobile works, but lately nothing works. The Windows Mobile device appears somewhat spoil the activitation and demanded each month reactivation couple... but now I can not get anything to activate and it seems to be a server problem, not a PC or device issue. If someone has never penetrated the MS ranks to find someone who really knows what happens, please advise kindly. Thank you Joel at Bellevue

    Hi Jarska,

    ·        You did changes to the computer recently before the issue started?

    ·        If your computer came pre-installed with Windows Vista, or you don't have it installed separately?

You receive this error 0xC004E003 when the Software Licensing Service reported that license evaluation failed on your computer. You can access the link below and follow the steps in method C and check if that helps you solve the problem of activation. If the C method does not work, you can follow the steps in method G and try activation using the automated phone system.

    Hello Rayzorexe,

Thanks for the response back.  You are able to start your computer and get the recovery options?  From there, you can run "Command Prompt" and I want to know if you are able to run Chkdsk from there successfully.

Are you the same response from the commands below:

Type 'chkdsk e:' in the command prompt. Press 'Enter' to run the utility to check the disk in read-only mode. He locates errors but does not fix the

Enter 'chkdsk e:/f' in the command prompt. Press 'Enter' to run the disk check and correct errors without analyzing bad sectors.

Type 'chkdsk e:/r' in the command prompt, press 'Enter' to do a thorough analysis of the sectors and files and repair any problems found.

  • Microsoft Reader Activation downwards for more than 2 years?

Reader software Microsoft benefits at all?  Like many others before me, it seems that people have had problems to activate the reader software solutions.  Of course you can always read an ebook without DRM, but since you can't activate your purchased books are not available.  I would like a definitive answer, so that I can make a decision.  Should I give up and pass?

Looks like you need to find another solution for your e-book needs.
