  How did you restore the computer (method)?  This is a system like Dell, HP, Lenovo, gateway, etc. ?

  If it's a system like that--and it came pre-installed with any operating system you restored to you and used their method to restore the system to factory settings - your support comes from them, not Microsoft.

  The product key for the operating system, if any, should be (in the case of the situation I described) on a sticker on the computer itself.  It would look like the flashing of modes of action here )<-- that="" is="" a="" link,="" click="" on="">

  However, without knowing more (like the specific operating system, how you restored it, why you restored, etc)-probably not able to help much more than that.

  However, I can tell you (after reading: "I have years of data on the computer") you don't probably more - not if you ended up doing a destructive restore of the computer operating system.  Likely * everything * went that you took the trouble to backup to external media before "find you" your computer.  Backups - always King.

  I downloaded the server connector and extract the contents of connector_server_java - 1.2.6195.zip. Then I went to the connector_server_java-1.2.6195\bin folder and run the command to set the key below.

• Cannot find "" keys associated with certificates to create certificates p.12

  Hi there, hope you can help. Eager to create Distribution certificates & developer p.12. Went through procedure at the point of a double click on "ios_development.cer" and "ios_distribution.cer" to install in Keychain Access.

  I see that these certificates are in Keychain Access under System'Certificates.

  However, Keys 'System' the relevant keys do not exist. And in Login 'Keys' there are 4 keys that might be good: 2 public keys, 2 private keys. BUT they do not have an arrow on the left so I do not see if the correct certificate is associated with them (as described in the step by step guide to DPS pg19).

  Mac currently on 10.6.8 so I have not yet downloaded X Code. Planning to improve the system of short time. When I update and install X Code, so I'll be able to see the right keys and associated certificates together in "key"? Is there something that I missed? Hope you can help, thanks.

  Xcode is probably irrelevant to this issue (even if you do not want to install an intermediate certificate at some point, either individually or with xcode). If you double-click the .cer file and the swirl arrow does not appear, it means that the certificate was not imported correctly. Try using the command import in the menu. If this does not work, delete and remove any that you have created and try again. For best results, close the Keychain Access utility whenever you complete a certificate p12.

  If the original installation was provided with the old computer, then it is probably an OEM license. So this cannot be reused on any other system OEM licenses are tied to the motherboard 1 it is installed on.

  The recovery media will include a built-in key that will fail to automatic activation and will not activate manually. If you want someone to confirm this download the Microsoft MGADiag tool and paste the result here.

  Your only option would be to buy keys, media and new software.
