Cannot change a user group in Pidgin

When I move a person from one group to the other in Pidgin, return sign out and then sign back in they are to the original group.   Strangely, this seems to be the case with the people in the group "Manager and peers."  Does anyone know how to get the hang of stick?

The question is managers and peer group is based on the LDAP structures and will be updated as you log in. The only way you can remove a participant Manager and the peer is if they are no longer a Manager or peer into the system

    Hello

    I have a question...

In OBIEE, I use authentication external table. I have the user and user group tables where users and groups are shops... Whenever I have to create a new user and assign them to a group, these recordings get immediately inserted into these tables with the right user and group ID that matches up with the other... Then in my boot block, the query that retrieves the user name and the psswd I and the names of groups...

All these work in the initial creation of the user. For example, when I create a user and assign it to the Group A, the DB table has all the records that are inserted correctly. When I connect OBIEE using the user a login name, I see that he is assigned to the B group.

The problem comes when I change user A group b group c. When I did, although the DB table is updated correctly, OBIEE session always seems to be the earlier. So, when I connect the second time, I see that the user is always assigned to group B instead of Group C... This seems to be cached...

I'll double check these user tables in OBIEE, none of them are active cache... The isolation level connection pool is set as default...

When I reinstall OBIEE everywhere again and re - login the first time, this user is now assigned to group c...

Seems to be that it's a caching issue.

How can I solve this problem

If you go to the user control panel, under the profile box, there is a place where we can make our forum user name - which would be nice because this stuff USER-xyz is ridiculous.

Unfortunately, it does not work because you must put a valid e-mail address in order to change your user name... but you can't because it lacks the text box that you are supposed to type in the e-mail address field.

  • vCenter 5.5 device - cannot see all users/groups of ads after you configure SINGLE sign-on

I'm playing with the device of vCenter 5.5 (studying if it is possible to move the device to Windows hosted vCenter).  We are running 5.0 vCenter, so I have no experience with SSO to date.  I've joined with success the vCenter for AD unit (I can see the object in AD) and then I added our field as a source-SSO in vCenter.  I made sure to use a host name COMPLETE of the device that I've seen a few problems with join the domain if the hostname was not in FQDN format.  When I set up SSO, I used "Active Directory (Integrated Windows Authentication)," and then "use machine account" - which, from what I understand, all that is necessary is that I joined the field of unit - which, as I said, seems joining our field.  When I added the SSO domain, there is no errors and I now see in the list.  So as far as I know, the configuration for the SSO was entirely free of errors.

However, when I try to add resources to AD to vCenter (for example to add ad users/groups to the vCenter administrators group or assign role permissions to objects in vCenter) navigation for our domain window just, hangs in the web interface, I see a little blue bar progress turns forever and in the Windows GUI for vSphere client the browser window just hangs and I have to kill the process.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium - cannot change the user name in the authentication dialog box

I was hoping someone might be able to answer a question on how to get a computer running Windows 7 Home Premium to display both the username and password fields when attempting to authenticate on another Windows computer.

Here's the situation: allow us that the leaders and other members of the staff allowed our Organization to establish a VPN connection to our corporate network (via Fortinet Forticlient, for what it's worth.)  Once the VPN connection is established, on the remote computer, the user must be able to access the UNC path to our file (\\servername\share) server.

Because the remote user has not yet authenticated on the domain Active Directory of business, a dialog box should appear to the user input a user name and password.  Enter the user name (domain\username) and password and share should open, and the user must then be able to access the files in the share.

I (and several other members of the staff) have been using this method successfully to access files via the VPN connection, and it works very well.  However, it does not work whenever the President of the company will connect to the VPN from his computer at home.

Whenever the President connects the VPN and attempts to access the UNC path, he reports that the dialog box which appears on his computer at home has only one field for a password; the user name field appears to be on his local user account, and it doesn't have the ability to change.  (I have him asked if there is an option 'use authentication information', and he declares that there is not just a dialog box with a single field, the field of password.)

The President is running Windows 7 Home Premium on his computer at home, so I thought that the problem could be because he was running this edition of Windows.  However, I have installed VPN client and test the connection on the server share file using the computer of my wife, who is also running Windows 7 Home Premium, and I received the two fields as expected authentication dialog box and has been able to authenticate to the domain successfully and open files from the share with no problems.

Does anyone have recommendations on what I can try to allow the President to authenticate successfully to our server share?  I am confused, and it is eager to be able to get remote access to files on his home computer.

  • How to change the user name - peer-to-peer network

I recently installed shareaza, is a peer-to-peer network as you know. the problem is that all of my folders have my name on it: that is to say, he will say sharedfiles/Jose/my documents. I tried to change my username on useraccount, but the name of Jose remains on everything. is there anyway I can change this? Thanks for any help

    Hello

The fact is that the username will be created at the beginning of the installation of the OS.
It comes to you account on the laptop.
Each user account includes the folder my documents.
In this case, you cannot change the user account if you have a single user profile on the laptop. The title of the user accounts, you can create additional user with different names.

The other possibility would be to change the download source. But that you change somewhere in the program settings. Unfortunately, this program is unclear to me. In this case, I can give t you information where you will find this option.

  • How to change the user name in windows 7 Professional?

I recently installed windows 7 Professional and by chance I typed my user name and the computer when it prompted me to type it in. When I had typed the wrong characters in and click on 'Next', he wouldn't let me go back and change it, so I was stuck with an unwanted user/computer name. I managed to change the name of the computer for the word you want, but I didn't always know how to change my username.

I went to user accounts, and there was an option to change the name of the account, so I did.
However, none of my directories has changed its name, and all processes in the Task Manager were still running under the same previous user name, which I did not want it to be.

Is there a way to change the username of an account so it affects all the directories, files, folders, etc. without creating a new account with that name? Or, if possible, copy all the files and preferences of the current account to another account with this name?

    Any help is appreciated.

You cannot change a user account by changing just the name. Simply by changing the name will do a cosmetic change only and does not affect the underlying files/folders in the profile.

    1. from an account with administrator privileges, go to control panel > user accounts and to create the new user account named Standard the way you want to and at least one additional administrator account. Call the last 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar.
2 log in to the new Standard user account once if the profile of the files/folders are created and then connect to CompAdmin.
    3. now go to control panel > system > advanced > user profile > settings
    4. you will see where you can copy user accounts. Copy the old account to the new from there. Use her browse to select your new account (C:\Users\newaccount).
5 log in to the new account correctly named and make sure all your stuff is here and it works as you want. When you are satisfied, you can log on and CompAdmin and remove the old account from the control panel > user accounts.

If you want to access your account again, it is corrected automatically, follow these steps:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

General recommendations for the establishment of user accounts

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. Like XP, Vista and all the other modern operating systems, Windows 7 is an OS multi-user with integrated system of accounts such as administrator, by default, all users invited. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want account only one user with administrative privileges on Windows 7 because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult. It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but it will take third-party tools and work outside the operating system.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this by following the instructions written in the first part of this post.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/rename-a-user-account

  • Control Panel - you cannot change user access privileges

Today visited a customer who was a profile error at startup of Windows 7 (Home Premium).

After a lot of unexpected problems, I found that the built-in Administrator account seemed to be missing (!) but I was able to create a user base at the command prompt, by using "net use XXX / add". Tried to add this user to the Administrators group, but it does not (unfortunately, with no error message).

When I started, I could open the Control Panel, but when I tried to change the new user (for an admin), I was invited for an admin password, but the following option to change the user's privileges did NOT appear. Using the basic account for access to the regedit failed (as you know), but he confirmed that there are a couple of profiles on the machine, which has fewer values than the other.

The cat of the user, it turns out that the PC was a buying opportunity, and he had also been in the hands of another, who had attempted a repair (after a failed upgrade). The user doesn't have to believe that the PC had been through Windows updates in the recent past.

Thus, the result is that there are now 2 user ID Windows on the PC, a (Administrator) who gets an error in profile and a second (standard user) that allows to perform basic operations.

I don't check the 'Guest' Windows built-in account, but I'm sure that (from what I've seen in a few hours) that someone in the past had just set a "standard" on the box and then eventually renamed account built-in "Administrator" as the user name.

I don't like leaving my clients with no answered questions weigh on their PC, but this one has me relatively perplexed.

    My questions are:

-is it possible to rename (or otherwise damage) on behalf of the default Windows administrator?

-which might explain why the control panel will not allow you to change the type of the user?

-If the account are accessible on the PC with administrator privileges has become corrupt, is the only viable solution to proceed to re - install Windows?

    Thanks in advance...!

-is it possible to rename (or otherwise damage) on behalf of the default Windows administrator?

-> Why would you damage the default admin account?

-> Rename an account is superficial. You give only the existing account, a nickname, but the name remains behind.

-which might explain why the control panel will not allow you to change the type of the user?

-> With the help of an ordinary user plans to promote some administrator-level accounts is against the principles of security. This would make the concept of "account administrator" without value. You need to be logged under an administrator account to perform administrative actions.

-If the account are accessible on the PC with administrator privileges has become corrupt, is the only viable solution to proceed to re - install Windows?

-> With a used PC, the only viable option is to perform a destructive factory restore to make the machine 'as new '. It would be dangerous to use the PC in its current state. There could be more that a dog has fleas or virus it could be hacked that will create an interesting situation when the user deals with sensitive information (Internet banking, personal correspondence).
