Cannot change settings
a few days ago he has updated Firefox to update on my computer. Since then, I was in the options to try to change the settings for a number of things. There is no apply / save button in the options pages. In addition, the tab options remains open - it is there everytime I open my browser. The browser tab is there and right next door is the tab options.
Hi, there is no save/apply button because it is unnecessary now - just close the tab Options to save.
For the other question, please see - How to set the home pageand ensure that Subject: preferences (URL Options) is not in the "Home Page" - If this is the case, you can delete it – while leaving the URLS of your favorite home page or the Firefox start page (Subject: House).
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Cannot change settings on Photosmart 3180
Product: HP Photosmart 3180 all-in-One
I have upgraded to Windows 8.1.
Question #1 - I used to have the printer set to Fast Black Ink Only project. Now, this setting is gone and there is no way to print automatically in this way.
Question #2 - entered the solution Center HP settings, but when I click on the printer to print nothing happens.
I checked the updates and it came back with no need.
Is there something I need to do to ensure that my Windows 8.1-compatible printer?
Or is the wrong thing?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Hello - Carey,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand your concerns with your Photosmart 3180. How is the printer connected? USB or wireless?
I recommend the continuation of this HP document on change of printing in Windows settings 8.1 Please click on "Change Print Settings from the 8.1 desktop", then click on "change the Default Print settings for all print jobs.
Please let me know if you are able to change the print settings in the print preferences. If you're not, let me know and I'll continue to help you further.
If your solution center is not open the "printer settings", you may need to uninstall/reinstall the software.
Impatience on your part.

Cannot change settings or update firmware on the WRT110
Hello
I am trying to solve problems with a WRT110 for my mother. A brother of mine was originally set but it was not available. I had a lot of strange problems, so I tried generic fix #1: restart.
So I pressed the "Reset" button on the back of the router. Nothing seemed to happen. So I pressed it again. Once again nothing. So I unplugged the power and plugged again. I understand now that the "Reset" button actually redefines the default factory setting, but I didn't know that at the time.
To my surprise, all the parameters have been missed. So, I went to put back them, but could not. Whenever I click on save settings it says post.cgi not found (specifically: http://192.168.1.1/post.cgi). Not found?
So I decided to try the firmware update. firmware_upgrade.cgi not found.
As far as I know, all .cgi files are now completely absent. All .htm files always seem to be there. But without the .cgi, I can't do ANYTHING to the router. It's really frustrating.
I also tried holding the reset for 30 seconds button and wait 2 + minutes for a factory default reset. I have tried power cycling it again. Still lacks the .cgi.
I was not able to find this problem in Google. I hope someone has a bright idea.
Thank you
-Pete
Well, I feel stupid
Apparently Google Chrome doesn't work with of the .cgi. I tried Internet Explorer and it worked. Lost so much time because of this.
I hope that this thread will help someone else having the same problem.

My firewall is off, I went to control panel to turn it on and it comes up saying "Windows Firewall cannot change some of your settings Error code: 0 x 80070424" any ideas how to fix or what's goin'?
Hello
What do you use for security?
If you are using an Internet Security Suite, it will have its own firewall and disables the default Windows Firewall.
And you should have only one firewall to avoid problems related to the operating system.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Malware to disable your firewall and your safety programs.
Scan of Malware in Safe Mode with network.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-Windows-in-safe-mode/#Vista
Windows Vista
Using the F8 method:
- Restart your computer.
- When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with the Boot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
- Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
- Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
- To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
- Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.
Once in Safe Mode with network, download and run RKill.
RKill does NOT remove the malware; It stops the Malware process that gives you a chance to remove it with your security programs.

Then, download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

See you soon.

I get this error: "firewall Windows cannot change some of your settings. Error code 0 x 80070424"when I try to turn on the Windows Firewall (Windows 7). I am also unable to start my computer in safe mode. My computer has been infected by the virus 'Win 7 Security 2012', which is what caused this damage to my system. The virus also seems to have removed all the system restore points before the infection! I believe that I have the virus completely deleted. I used Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Spybot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware, Kapersky Virus Removal Tool, antivirus Ati Avira (anti-virus program I was running when my computer has been infected by the virus) & Microsoft Security Essentials. I ran the Scan SFC, a tool for emergency response Microsoft Support, Microsoft FixIt, ComboFix, & Tweaking.com Windows Repair all-in-One. Repair Windows Tweaking.com seems to be turned Action Center back, where I now get a message that: "Windows Defender is turned off" & it does not seem to recognize MSE as my anti-virus program. I need to know how to get Windows Firewall works again & get Action Center working properly again. My computer has a partition with my Windows Recovery on it, but since I can't start in safe mode, I can not also start the restore partition to do a "repair" install, or even restore to factory settings! Can anyone help?
Also, when I use a search engine on internet, I get re-directed to a site that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the result of the research, and I click on... I am not that so that is proof that the virus is not COMPLETELY gone or not.

Windows Firewall cannot change some of your settings/error code ox80070424
I get this message "windows firewall cannot change some of your settings/error code ox80070424.
In a little more detail can help, like when is the message that appears and what OS you have (W7 starter Edition-home premium 32 bit 64 bit etc.). When the message started to appear? either you have installed a program or had a malware attack? (If you have or suspect that you may have been attacked by malicious software, then download, install, update and run a scan with Malwarebytesfree)
This can be interesting to read - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968002 not quite the same message, but the same error code, i.e. at least the fixit FW.
