Cannot close windows while on the internet
I can't close all windows when I'm online, I need to update a driver?
- What windows you're not able to close?
- Are you able to close the windows if you're not online?
- If it works much earlier?
- What changes has been made recently to the computer?
I recommend you perform the clean boot.
Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.
See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

Step 1:
Check if you are able to access to the files and programs into account administrator in safe mode.
Start your computer in safe mode

Internet Explorer cannot display webpage then on the internet by clicking on a link on a Web page
When you are connected to the internet, I can't click links on a Web site. Clicking on makes me an error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". For example, I'm on FamilyFun.com I try to print a page coloring for my daughter. I choose the one she wants, but when I click on 'see full size and print it' I get the error message. I tried disabaling the modules and software McAfee and install IE9. None of these works.

Specific update for Windows on Windows 7 disables the internet connection in Internet Explorer
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. 10/14/2010 my computer installed something around 18 updates to Windows. Immediately after the restart, I couldn't get an internet connection on Internet Explorer. My computer tells me I have 90% Wi - Fi, but I get nothing on Internet Explorer. I restored my computer to until I installed updates, and immediately after the restart of the internet worked well. I decided then to individually install each update of Windows one by one and found a specific update that causes this problem on my computer. It's "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 x 64-based Systems (KB2360131). I am able to install all the updates, only this specific one stop my internet to view Web pages.
On a side note, I have another computer with Vista, and this computer shows no problem after installing all updates. I don't want to change my settings to manually install updates, I love that they install automatically, but that just doesn't work if this particular day keep install and maintain close my internet. Any suggestions as to why it continues to be?
Thank you![I turned first on my new computer on 30 August.] I tried to activate [the 60 days Norton free trial] in the first week or two, so maybe between 7 September - 14 September... not [uninstall before I installed MSE] however.
You must have activated the free trial immediately (i.e., August 30), not a week or two later. In addition, you should have uninstalled Norton free trial AND download / run the Norton Removal Tool BEFORE you installed Microsoft Security Essentials.
I suspect that you see the effects of a hijackware infection. Chances are that your computer is already infected at the time wherever you tried to activate the free trial of Norton. See...

Original title: windows 7 Home premium product...
I have a dell studio 1737 and was upgraded to windows 7 Home premium 32-bit. I was installing windows 10 when we lost the internet connection and now I get an error message on windows is not genuine. can someone help please!
Use your Windows 7 Home Premium product key to activate it.
Windows 7 is pre-installed on my computer, How can I find the product key?
The product key is located on the COA sticker attached to the bottom of your laptop or in the battery compartment. In rare cases it can be found also in the memory compartment. For systems of the Tower, look at the top or the side of the system unit. It looks like the following:
Click Start > settings > Update & security > Activation > change product key and then enter the new product key, and then click Next to activate
If you cannot activate Windows 10 after all the above and you are sure that you have the correct edition installed, then please try phone activation:

WINDOWS XP PRINTER WI - FI CONNECTION
I have Windows XP Media Center Service Pack 3 OS that worked a HP Photosmart Plus B209 a - m with a USB cable. Since I just bought a new laptop (Windows 7 Professonal OS) I decided to create a home network with a router Cradlepoint MBR 900. The two laptops (XP and 7 OSs) were connected to the internet via the router with no problems. Windows 7 Pro OS laptop is connected wireless to the printer Photosmart Plus, I had implemented as confiquiration wireless the printer first. But the failure of the attempt to get the OS Windows XP Media Center to connect to the wireless printer. During the installation process to connect the printer to the XP system wireless it asked me to choose which printer I wanted to connect to. The Photosmart Plus printer was selected and visible, then I clicked Next. Shortly after, a small screen appeared stating the "serscan.sys" file could not be found and I have to insert a Windows XP Pro CD to get the file or run the installer of this file. This issue has occurred both when I tried to install it with the CD provided by HP and when I tried installing the HP download website. All I have is a recovery for Windows XP disk provided with the laptop and not a CD Windows XP Pro. What should I do to fix this? Thanks, LonnieThanks, that was fast. Please, let me make sure I have this correct. First of all, I have two recovery disks provided with the computer, with Windows XP Media Edition and one for the drivers. I should not use either of these disks, right? If I had the previous correct answer then let me ask the following question; When looking to borrow the disc should be Windows XP Media Edition or can I borrow any disk of Windows XP? Kim Merci for your help continues. Lonnie
Lonnie,
Before the hunting around for friends who might have a CD, do the following research. For each of them, make sure that you have checked the search options in the 'Advanced Options' to
- Search system folders
- Search for files and hidden folders
- Search subfolders
Search your entire hard drive and both CDs you have to serscan. Do not include the .sys at the end of the file name.
Search for Driver.cab. Report of the Office (s). On your hard disk, you should find one or both
- C:\Windows\i386\Driver.cab
- C:\Windows\Driver Cache\i386\driver.cab
You can also find these files on the "recovery disk".
Report what you find, including locations of found nothing. It is possible (but I don't think likely) you will find a file named serscan.sy_ - If Yes, include this information in your results.
Or, if you want to ignore all this, you can download serscan.sys since my SkyDrive-->
The file should go to C:\Windows\system32\dllcache (a hidden directory) and probably in C:\Windows\system32 (I do not use this file, if it is not in my system32 folder).
Or you can just save it to your desktop and "direct the Setup" it there (if you do this, check more later to confirm that he got into C:\Windows\system32\dllcache and if not, put a copy).
