Cannot connect Windows 7 pc to TV with HDMI

just upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista.  I used to be able to connect using Windows Vista by connecting a cable TV on my computer HDMI laptop Dell xps.  This no longer works with Windows 7.  The operating system upgrade is the only change.  Sunday, he worked with Vista and Monday it didn't work anymore after the upgrade to Windows 7.

Your best bet is:

  • Windows cannot connect to the printer operation failed with error 0x0000007e

    Hello

    OS: Windows 7 x 86 SP1

    Print server: Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 x 86

Printer: HP LaserJet 8150 printer shared and listed in the directory

    Problem:

When I try to install the printer in the Add Printer Wizard, choose install a network printer, she finds a driver on the server, installs, then brings up an error (see topic).

In the Print Service logs, I see the following:

"The print spooler failed to load a plug-in module, 0x7e error code. See the user context information for event data.

I can install the printer very well if I choose local printer, new port, TCP/IP, and enter the IP address. This isn't a solution, as users cannot be expected to go through this process, or for me to go around all the machines and do it manually. More I want than the print jobs to the print server's spool, and I think that the local installation method uses the local spooler.

I tried to install the driver of HP UPD PCL 6, x 86 and x 64, on the print server.

When I check what the client machine pilot chose to install by going to the properties of the print server, I can see that he chooses the former driver "HP LaserJet 8150 Series PCL 6". I presume that it is incompatible with Windows 7, that's why I am getting the error cannot connect.

How can I get Windows 7 clients to use the UPD?

I left our Windows 2003 print server to a Server 2008 and comes to install the HP UPD x 86 and x 64 for each printer. Now everything works perfectly! All XP and 7 customers can install printers network without problem.

I suspect that the problem was due to have many different versions of drivers on the old print server, and customers did not know which to use?

  • Cannot Connect to Host ESXi 4.1 with browser or Client VI

Hi, I have a strange problem which has persisted since I first installed ESXi 4.1 on a server. First my setup:

    • ESXi Installable on a HP DL380 G6 server, 32 GB of RAM, 4xEmbedded NETWORK ports, Port NIC, 2 iSCSI x QLogic QLE4060C HBAs 1xDual adapter

    • HBAs configured for Jumbo and static IP frames but except that all the settings are default

We have installed ESXi 4.1 with only the built-in port #1 connected to the switch. Everything went well and we were allocated the only active NIC (vmnic0) as the management interface. Once installation is complete, we were able to connect to the management interface using a browser and the VI client.

We then connected NETWORK card and remaining HBA ports to the switch without loss of connectivity to the management interface. During our next restart we could no longer connect directly to the host using a browser or the VI client but could still ping the IP.

We tried to restart the management agents, but it did not help.

Here are the different startup scenarios, we tested and the results:

Scenario #1 - Boot with built-in NICs, DP adapter cards, network and HBAs connected to the switch.

    • Can we ping the IP of host of Mgmt? = Yes

Can • we consult to the IP host of Mgmt or connect using the VI Client? = NO

Even if we try to unplug the adapter DP and HBA ports after starting we still cannot connect to the management using the Explorer or the VI Client interface. A reboot is required, and the script #2 or #3 must be followed.

Scenario #2 - start with only the embedded and DP adapter NIC connected to the switch.

    • Can we ping the IP of host of Mgmt? = Yes

Can • we consult to the IP host of Mgmt or connect using the VI Client? = NO

If disconnect us the two ports of adapter DP we can then connect to the host via the browser or the VI client without having to restart. We can reconnect them and we continue to have access to the host, and everything is fine.

Scenario n ° 3 -Boot with only the NIC integrated, including the Mgmt NIC connected to the switch.

    • Can we ping the IP of host of Mgmt? = Yes

Can • we consult to the IP host of Mgmt or connect using the VI Client? = Yes

Then we connected the DP adapter and the adapter port HBAS to the switch and all the connectivity was very good. This scenario is our solution for now.

    Other information

The QLE6xxx ESXi module takes about 5 minutes to load during startup, when the HBAs are connected to the switch, but it loads successfully. Not sure if this is normal or not.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Paul

This looks like a very unusual network for me configuration.

Could you post a screenshot of virtual network configuration and add a few comments on the different configuration of the vSwitches and uplink connected.

If I understand correctly that you have at least 3 vSwitches (management, virtual machines, and iSCSI), however, from what you wrote so far I do not completely understand how implement you.

    Hello

I am trying to connect a Satellite P750 with Windows 7 to a TV via HDMI and have had no success.

I tried without success to the following:
    1. I chose F5 function to extend the desktop with desktop + HDMI, but also just HDMI only
    2. I tried the windows P for the use of projector function
    3. I tried different TV including Panasonic and Sony Bravia
    4. I tried another HDMI cable, I use my Xbox with
    5. in the devices section, I can see the TV is added and tried to change the settings, without success
    6. when I looked online for a solution, a solution was to download HMDI Control manager.
    7. After installing it and when I tried to use it, I got the pop-up message "using the HDMI control, you must activate it.

So I was wondering if the HDMI port is not properly enabled. According to me, he works one way or another, otherwise the computer would not be able to detect the TV when connected.

Can you please offer any assistance?

    > 1. I chose the F5 function to extend the desktop with desktop + HDMI, but also just HDMI only

And what exactly happens if you press Fn + F5?
You see the Toshiba Flash Cards appearing at the top of the screen menu while pressing FN + F5?

Please note that the output screen must be changed before you start to play a video.

Right channel/HDMI port is chosen in the settings of your TV?

  • Cannot connect Windows 8 to an older OS with homegroup

    Separated from this thread.

It is very helpful, as most of us are either A: Trying to get windows 8 to connect to an OS or former B: trying to get an older operating system to connect to Windows 8. You guys is added a password of security for groups windows home 8 (initially known as the name of the Working Group) and that made it impossible for the older operating system to connect to the fact that they have no way to get that pass code. All I'm doing is part media and I have to play with the parameters left and right before my media suddenly begins sharing properly.

And yes I did all this network sharing stuff. Turns up making even that sometimes doesn't work. I have the same problem trying to listen to music through my X - Box 360 and again once I play with the settings of the network of last 5 to 10 minutes before suddenly oh look at my music is streaming finally. From my experience with Microsoft trying to do anything about it either on your own home network was a royal pain, but at least with windows 7 and it wasn't to hard to fix. Now with windows 8, it became almost impossible to have another version of windows even work with windows 8 on the network.

Of course, this is simply my own experience and one thing I've learned is that half computers running the same operating system with the same exact specifications there will not have the same correction. Towers of PCs have their own personality. That's why I'm happy that I came across this page turns upward to a mixture of tests with a lot of the suggestion realized that none of them have really explain why the network needs a lot of tinkering in the first place.

Ideally, it should be as simple as crochet just your laptop to the network put a password and be good to go, but now it seems that I have to have passwords on top of passwords and have nothing to say in the matter, if I want to put all the passwords. Well, I managed to solve my problem for now until the next time I try to connect to another computer on my network.

Of older machines MS can be connected so that you can see and file xfer.

To do this, the connection is through the WORKING Group on the network connection.

On the old machines go to system in Control Panel and change the name of default working something else as MY-WORKING group and restart this computer.

On the newer machine who has Homegroup, do the same thing through the control panel and restart this computer.

Now you have a private workgroup that you will be able to see all the machines via network connections.

You may need to set up some of your folders on the old machines to share certain folders as shared on the network.

Who should do as I have an old XP I use as a file server and a backup location.

  • Satellite Pro L650-1LF - cannot connect Windows 7

    Hello

I'm having a problem with my new Toshiba laptop and I thought that maybe someone here could help me. Sorry for my bad English: P

My problem is that when I start my laptop (that I got today) I can't connect in the two options I have. There is the administrator account which acquires a password that I did not and do not know. the second option is "another user account", but it still says that I have the account user or incorrect password. I don't know what to do :(
I hope you people understand my problem and can help me. 7 Professional Windows was already installed when I bought the laptop in an internet shop, so there are no cd or other software with it.

Thanks for your help and I hope you have understood my problem :)

    Hey Buddy,

You have created user accounts after installing Windows 7? Usually, if you buy a new laptop, recovery facility will be beginning and end. Then, you will be asked for user accounts and passwords.

Anyway, an alternative you can try reinstalling Windows if no connection is possible. Just run the recovery of HARD drive feature (menu advance to boot Windows if you press F8, and then select Repair my computer).

Can get to other thin servers. and also connect to other servers to the server aush-feather end. This works if the server, then it stops again. No errors in the event log. Tried to get other disks on the server and the same issue. I created another share with permisions for all and always the same question.

      Any ideas?

      • This is the C$ which is the part of the administrator and I can access other servers. I created a test share and get the same question even if share and security permissions are at the world. When I restart the SCCM server, it's good for a while, then I get the error again. I need for SCCM to access this share. Maybe some kind of smb or implementing caching perhaps?

  • Cannot connect Windows XP to the wireless printer.

WINDOWS XP PRINTER WI - FI CONNECTION

I have Windows XP Media Center Service Pack 3 OS that worked a HP Photosmart Plus B209 a - m with a USB cable.  Since I just bought a new laptop (Windows 7 Professonal OS) I decided to create a home network with a router Cradlepoint MBR 900.  The two laptops (XP and 7 OSs) were connected to the internet via the router with no problems.  Windows 7 Pro OS laptop is connected wireless to the printer Photosmart Plus, I had implemented as confiquiration wireless the printer first.  But the failure of the attempt to get the OS Windows XP Media Center to connect to the wireless printer.  During the installation process to connect the printer to the XP system wireless it asked me to choose which printer I wanted to connect to.  The Photosmart Plus printer was selected and visible, then I clicked Next.  Shortly after, a small screen appeared stating the "serscan.sys" file could not be found and I have to insert a Windows XP Pro CD to get the file or run the installer of this file.  This issue has occurred both when I tried to install it with the CD provided by HP and when I tried installing the HP download website.  All I have is a recovery for Windows XP disk provided with the laptop and not a CD Windows XP Pro.  What should I do to fix this?  Thanks, Lonnie

Thanks, that was fast.  Please, let me make sure I have this correct.  First of all, I have two recovery disks provided with the computer, with Windows XP Media Edition and one for the drivers.  I should not use either of these disks, right?  If I had the previous correct answer then let me ask the following question;  When looking to borrow the disc should be Windows XP Media Edition or can I borrow any disk of Windows XP?  Kim Merci for your help continues.  Lonnie

    Lonnie,

Before the hunting around for friends who might have a CD, do the following research.  For each of them, make sure that you have checked the search options in the 'Advanced Options' to

    • Search system folders
    • Search for files and hidden folders
    • Search subfolders

Search your entire hard drive and both CDs you have to serscan.  Do not include the .sys at the end of the file name.

Search for Driver.cab.  Report of the Office (s).  On your hard disk, you should find one or both

    • C:\Windows\i386\Driver.cab
    • C:\Windows\Driver Cache\i386\driver.cab

You can also find these files on the "recovery disk".

Report what you find, including locations of found nothing.  It is possible (but I don't think likely) you will find a file named serscan.sy_ - If Yes, include this information in your results.

Or, if you want to ignore all this, you can download serscan.sys since my SkyDrive-->

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?CID=18b259158254905b&RESID=18B259158254905B! 225 & Thierry = 18B259158254905B! 214

The file should go to C:\Windows\system32\dllcache (a hidden directory) and probably in C:\Windows\system32 (I do not use this file, if it is not in my system32 folder).

Or you can just save it to your desktop and "direct the Setup" it there (if you do this, check more later to confirm that he got into C:\Windows\system32\dllcache and if not, put a copy).

  • Cannot connect Windows XP computer to the wireless router

Original title: why did I have to disable my ethernet on my front XP computers connections all of a sudden they would connect to my wireless network

    I installed a new AT & T wireless router

Only my Windows 7 laptop would connect to the new wireless router.

For my XP desktop and the laptop I had to disable the ethernet connections [although no cable not connected] so that the wireless to connect.

I did it on a whim after days of not being able to connect and many calls to support AT & T.

Both computers have shown the presence of the network, had 4 or 5 bars and had the right key WAP.

So what did this happen?  XP update?  Wireless driver update?  The AT & T router?

I had the problem until I'm the new router, AT & T AT & T could find nothing wrong with the old.

Their "solution" was to send a new router - Netgear v the Westell, I had for days of Bellsouth.

    Hello

Have you tried to proceed as stated in my previous post?
If you want to continue to launch other steps, you try to temporarily disable the firewall and check. Check out the following link.
How can I turn on or turn off the firewall in Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later versions?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/283673
Note: on disabling firewalls, viruses, or malware can get into the system. After you complete this step of troubleshooting, turn on the firewall.
Note: A firewall is software or hardware that checks information coming from the Internet or a network. Then, the firewall blocks the information or allows information to pass to your computer. If the information is blocked or passed through depends on your firewall settings. A firewall can prevent malicious software (such as worms) to access your computer through a network or the Internet. A firewall can also help stop your computer from malware sent to other computers. Windows XP, Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) include firewall software.

    Post back with the results.
