  Well, you can not convert the items non-text entexte becase they are not text!  You can convert text into editable text layers.

  What you do with the horizontal bars and the dog you need to turn them into editable text?  I see no reason to even try to do so.

  PSE7 should be able to convert your catalog. I don't really know, I haven't tried and haven't read on the conversion of the catalogues of PSA Starter Edition, but I'm optimistic.

  The problem is that the latest version of Lightroom will not read the catalogs PSE7. Probably when Lightroom 3 comes out, it will read the catalogs PSE7. So, I search the Internet to see if there is somewhere to download the demo version of PSE6 or PSE5. If you do not have one of these versions, they are converted as well your PSA catalog. Lightroom converts certainly PSE5 and PSE6 catalogs.

  I finally got my work and I have a text on a circular path. I am trying to export the whole thing as a .psd to layers in order to color and add it to a few other photoshop illustrations.

  In the export options, stays 'editability of text keep' grayed out any color, ppi options I choose! I don't rasterize the text or converted to outlines.

  You mentioned many of the reasons that can happen

  1. Don't not clicking on write layers
  2. Change the color scheme (you cannot convert from RGB to CMYK or visa versa here, without losing the editability of the text)
  3. MUT have editable text in your document (Illustrator is smart enough to detect this)

It would be good if you read about this sort of thing and typed your text without using these features, as AE just can't stand them. You will avoid unpleasant surprises. Or in other words: thanks to these features off PS, you will be forced to create all your formatting as it will be in AE and so you should be able to not make a mess - which seems wrong in PS will look bad in AE.
