  Right click on the speaker icon in the lower right of your screen. Chose frm of playback devices context menu and see if the bluetooth speakers are set for reading.

  First you should check if the Bluetooth is inside your laptop. Check if you have a bluetooth stick at the bottom of your laptop. If you do not find one no bluetooth is integrated.

  1. I've upgraded to Windows 8.1.

  2. install the latest driver for bluetooth (Atheros 8.0.1.316) of http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers.

  3 Bluetooth detects attached devices at first then suddenly not connected after a few seconds. I tried to send and receive a file, it works fine.

  4. in windows 8, whenever I connect it is a window will open where you can view the files from a device connected to my PC. This disappeared in windows 8.1.

  Now, I solved the problem. The problem is actually the old version of bluetooth suite could not be uninstalled when you uninstall in the devices or uninstall atheros bluetooth Manager suite + wlan in windows uninstall program. • Cannot produce sound (JBL flip) bluetooth speaker

  I have a bluetooth speaker portable flip of JBL that works very well with my smartphone etc.  My phone (Samsung, windows 7) connects with her and identifies it as a bluetooth headset, but I can't play the music through it all.  The laptop does not recognize as a 'reading device' or a piece of hardware in the 'sound' section of the control panel and I can't seem to make it work at all.

  I had 28 Code and having problems to install the driver.

  I do not understand if Creative supplied with the driver that I can still detect it in my Bluetooth devices.

  2. are you able to connect other Bluetooth devices?
  3. did you try the device on another computer and check if it works?
   
  Error code 28 corresponds to the drivers for the device is not installed.
   
  Creative Bluetooth speakers do not need any driver to operate. You may need to update the Bluetooth driver, your computer's built-in Bluetooth adapter.
