  Just bought the Amazon box version and cannot go beyond the screen serial number. I have an adobe membership and have been throughout the help pages. They say that there should be a "redemption code" on the box or the album cover. The number on the handle is only 8 characters and will not work.   Acrobat 9 is quite old and not longer supported. The last Windows OS that could use Acrobat 9 has Windows 7 and Acrobat had to have all updates applied.

  You need to upgrade to Acrobat DC.

• Cannot find my device names in order to try and find the drivers.

  I have this old Dell XP which was a great computer since 1995. Now, a couple of weeks, I had a crash severe windows and as soon as I got that bootable blown hard drive crashed. So I had a total reinstallation of Windows XP Edition family. It was no problem until I tried to go online. All I have for the Ethernet controller is a big yellow question mark. It is the same for the Audio Controller. the Modem and the controller video, basically everything that I need a driver for.

  What I need is for someone to tell me how to find out what I need to know which of many Ethernet controller drivers, I need. I can then fix the rest by myself. The platform I am working from now is a Vista system and this is where I have to download the driver I need. I put it on a flash drive and carry to the Dell and install it there.

  Getting desperate here... I lost a ton of software but I can live with that because I got the important stuff backed up.

  Probably with that and/or serial number - you can get the drivers or at least a list of what you need...

  I use Windows 7 Ultimate beta and found this irritating and much lower than XP. He has a lot of bugs and compatibility issues. It crashes every two hours and I lost many of my personal. So, I wanted to go back to my old XP by a clean uninstall of 7. When I inserted the CD at BOOT XP and pressed a button (as guest), he did not. He just started normally.
  Then I inserted within 7, but the gray tab XP installation ! Then I looked far from a solution of Microsoft and went to the link (above). It is said that I need the windows.old file back. But I'm not. I searched all my readers but could not find it.   The only time where you can roll to an earlier version of Windows during installation is when configuring real itself. He has no other choice after installing Windows 7 to return to your previous installation within the OS itself. You have manually will reinstall it.

  There could be traces of Java on the computer, you can download Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility and uninstall all traces of Java which is present on the computer.
