  • What version of Windows are you using?

  1. it is possible that you are missing the codec to play the file or it is clashing with other codec files.

  3. yet we cannot be sure at this point that the issue is due to interference with some files.

  Method 1:
  Alternatively, you can perform a restore of the system to a previous point, when the issue was not present. The System Restore tool uses points of restore to return the system files and settings to an earlier point in time.   Method 2:
  You can determine which codec was used with a specific file; read the file in the player, if possible. When the file is playing, right-click the file in the library, and then click Properties. On thefile tab, look at the Audio codec and Video codec sections.

  Then you can uninstall any installed codec and install that you need to do the job file.

  If you have several codec for the single file to work they can clash and cause problems.

  It is not possible to rip DVD using Windows Media Player. You must use a program designed to legally to copy files from a DVD to a computer.

I never have problems if my emails have attachments of picture, I can see pictures and I can view videos that use accelerated player.   You can have more than one question. WMP and QT are not all the same types of files. I suggest that you follow these steps.

  1: download and install K-Lite Codec Pack

  2: restart.

  3: do this for any type of file, you still have problems with.

  Create a file association.

  1. download and save the attachment to the office.
  2. right click on the saved file.
  3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
  4. click on: choose [default] program.
  5. Select: Windows Media Player
  6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
  7. click on OK.

  This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now. If not, post back with the types of files THAT WMP will not play.

• Scratchy Audio only when you use Windows media player

  For more than a month now, when I use Windows Media Player 11 to play any audio file, the music sounds saturated and rough. The volume is louder than normal.
