DIO - single vs writing Port (U8)

I have a weird situation:

I use a card digital I/o NI 6509, with 4 digital outputs x connected to P2.3 via P2.6.

1. set up a task to write these lines using a global virtual channels group - quite to the MAX.

2. I used this previous task/configuration with success.

3. yesterday it stopped working.

4. now the old task does not work.

5. I reset the device (and PC) repeatedly

6. I created a 'NEW' task that writes to the port at the same time (i.e. U8) and I can measure the fine (using DMM) output voltage change when I run this VI.

7. If I know that the output digital work... but when I try again the old task, it still does not work.

Can someone please tell me a reason why this behavior may occur. I know that some products DIO can be read/write only the port.

I'm suspicious that the unit (our product) the DIO card is connected to the could have been accidentally connected so that there are two output attached to the line even competing signals/pins.

This sounds like a hardware failure?

Any suggestions appreciated muchly.

Thank you!

Don't bother, I found the fault - the external material had been changed without knowing me.

We run ESXi 4.1 on machines Prolient HP DL 180 G6. They each have a single physical serial port.

I have a console connected, reliable cisco on the port of phyiscal for the test. Simple config 9600-8-N-1. I use to connect to the com ports of in SecureCRT 6.1 Windows VMs. Sometimes I connect successfully to the cisco console. More often, I just a terminal does not respond. I can find no pattern of work to understand why it works sometimes.

When I create a serial port in the virtual machine settings, how do I know what com receives the connection in the virtual machine? The first created is simply called "Serial1", and the following conditions are numbered incrementally. Is it true that "Serial1" is > Com1? and Serial2 == > Com2? There is a check box available in the "peripheral" VMWare Tools tab; but that's all, it's: a checkbox.

All virtual machines appear to all have a port com1, com2, at the same time, no matter what the hypervisor has on the virtual computer. Probably Windows should have no serial ports except if one is configured, see the 'new' material when the serial number is created in ESXi and always have that one?

When I create serial ports, it seems I can connect as much as I want to the device/dev/tank/serial/uart0 physics. It's not supposed to such that there should be some argument for the port?

  • MPIO - iscsi - ARE links/Ops / s

    Am I correct in saying get;

iSCSI MPIO will not increase your IOPS / s for a given machine, unless your ethernet connection is saturated?

MPIO does not increase performance per say, but give you a "big pipe" for several virtual machines on?

My scavaging on the net I find there are TWO ways to enable MPIO for you.

    (1) Add second Teddy (physical nic), assign the nic to your switch. Create a second VMkernal, substitute blanace loading options and set an active nic by vmk. Add the two vmk to the iscsi HBA, enable repetition alternate on the management of the paths to the data store. Shows that I have two paths.

    or

    (2) add the second bear to switch, allow the two bears will use the unique vmk. storage system, create two targets that map to the same LUN. Shows two paths.

Does it matter which way MPIO is configured as it shows several paths?

Out of curiosity I configured esxi using the first way to configure MPIO, then created a second target with the same number of LUN on the storage. ESXi shows that I have 4 paths to storage. A path is a link right? so 4 paths would be unnecessary, at least that I had 4 links and very high demand?

I read that it takes about 14 000 iops to saturate a gigabit link. Does this mean that since my storage system cannot achieve worldwide real scenerio MPIO is a waste of time?

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to communicate with me!

You are confused of serveral things in your argument.

Let's first start IOPS / s. To make an e/s of the mechanical components are involved on a disk and the number of IOs can run a disc is therefore very limited.

For this example lets assume that a disk can do 100 IOs (some less, some more do) and that you have 10 disks at hand. This means that your storage hardware can make 1000 IOPS / s. If you invest in a storage Bay real intelligence of implementing adding caching and controller you can get you more out of your drives as long your load is a good target for caching, but I don't know this option.

How to tie up your storage space (FC, iSCSI,) at an ESX Server direct changes nothing on the number of the IOPS / s your disks can do a lot.

However, it influences the bandwidth you can achieve.

Suppose that your consumption of storage is a WIndows NTFS machine. NTFS uses a typical 4 K block size. That calculates to a maximum block size of 4 K x 1000 = 4 MB bandwidth. Which can easily be done on a 100 MB link and you will see this flow if your consumption is doing sequential i/o only.

Now suppose that your ESX Server has a VMFS formatted with 1 MB (512 GB). While loading fully your 10 discs, you can reach 1 MB x 1000 = 10 GB.

Again, this is possible if your VMFS was only sequential writing which he did not.

When you run virtual machines VMs operating system will write to his type of typical files (i.e. 4 K on WIndows) and so the underlying VMFS will buffer a bit in its own cache and access discs in shuffle mode. Thus, you should expect a lot less bandwidth used. It many cases a single gigabit link will not be saturated.

MPIO is a function which can reach:

    -Path redundancy

-Additional bandwidth and IOPS / s in some cases

If MPIO can also add to the number if IOPS / s depends on the type of controller you have on the side storage. If you have a single controller with ports different frontend IOPS gain / s should not be dramatic. With several controllers, indivdual caches and mutual paths to the disks that you can achieve additional IOPS if you get a good cache reference rate.

How many different ways you can use with MPIO depends on what can make your storage space. What is a passive connection active? Reach you reduncancy but no INCREASE in the Ops / s or bandwidth. Only an active-active array will increase the bandwidth and, possibly, the number of IOPS / s you can achieve.

With ESX4 you can use up to 8 channels, if it's something your taken storage array supported by parallel controller access.

  • MacBook 2016 cannot read an My Passport Slim external

    Hello everyone

My new 2016 MacBook has only a single USB - C port that connects to Western Digital My Passport Slim disk external DRIVE via a USB HooToo multiport adapter.

OS X in it just cannot read HARD drive even through it will make a sound when connected via the hub.

I first thought the HARD drive has a problem, but then when I run EaseUs Partition Recovery Disk, it does not read the partition of the HARD drive either.

The HARD drive makes too much noise.

I find having just a USB - C which acts as a power port and can be multiplied by an incredibly awkward adapter.

But first and foremost, I have to get the HARD drive to show up in OS X.

What are the best ways to make it happen?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks as always

Here is a link to another discussion indicating that others have similar problems. Two posters seem to have solved the problem by upgrading to the latest version, 10.11.5

Apple also noted that some external hard drives G Drive do not work with the adapter. Since Apple may not have tested each other drive that I wonder if there are other materials with the same problem. It seems that the issue has been the port USB - C does not provide enough power to run the command. Is the HooToo adapter connected to a power outlet? Is anything else connected to the card "multi-port".

When using a USB2 external hard drive function (mine is LaCie and I have a lot of friends using different brands), if you have a relatively high network activity, network connections come out. They simply log off for about 10 minutes.

It's really easy to explain but it can also be caused by a network LAN and in my opinion, there is no reason why it can be caused by the computer laptop or even don. t network card I also use external HARD drive to copy any sensitive data.

I hope that you n t I have this problem if you copy data from HARD drive to laptop or vice versa. The only thing I can recommend is to check the properties of LAN card on the Advanced tab and compare these settings with friends.

  • Re: Support of DisplayPort on Qosmio F60

The series F60 has a "Displayport"?

I want to get a Matrox TripleHead2Go unit and try to determine which model to get. There is a VGA or Displayport version that supports several variations of resolution...

Is the Port HDMI F60 a Displayport?

This product is not known to me, but according to the specification, it can be used on most PC and portable computers that have a single video on port only. Thus, the Qosmio F60 as one of the most powerful portable Toshiba should be portable perfect for this.

I don't know what you mean exactly under displayport but for connecting external monitor you can use the HDMI or VGA port. Difference is that HDMI port offers better transfer video and audio signals to your external device. VGA port sends a video signal only. Thus, the HDMI port will be best option for connection between Qosmio and this external unit.

Before order you you can test with the system compatibility test > http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/drivers/download/gxm/tool/

  • 6196ep: network adapter problem 1GbE

    Hello

I have a HP dv6-6196ep wich im a moment difficult to know why he won't connect with 1GbE instead of 100 Mbps.

I use the right cable which is "Cable cat 6 UTP 24AWG 4PR" and its connected on the single GbE router port.

I tried to change some parameters such as, auto-nego and select "1 GbE full duplex", but it only connects at 100 Mbps, update the device controller, disabled the Frother, disable IPV6... and always connects at 100 Mbps.

I tried the same cable with the same router port GbE on a diferent labtop and it immediately connects to 1 GbE.

Any ideas? I would aprecciate any help since im paying the ISP for the speed and the labtop brings GbE card!

The laptop seems to support only a single video output port and it's port VGA/monitor.

I don't know which ports support TV, but you need a VGA cable to connect the laptop to a monitor.
If TV would support a DVI port, then you could try a VGA to DVI.

  • USB-6501 - impossible to find a basic example of Labview

    Hello

I recently bought a USB-6501 card and I used it in my own succesfully end and C++ programs using the DAQmx drivers.

Then I tried to move to Labview 2009 (I never used Labview) so I looked for a simple example.

I tried to boot from the example 'interactive Control Panel' (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/AF0F31EE5D2AD23F862573140009D7C2?OpenDocument).

I had to install the 'DAQmx Base' for him to start, as described in the previous link. now it begins (before Labview attempted to get a few missing .vi) but I get a message "error 200220 occurred at an unidentified locatio.

Then I realized this example is 'old' (as explained here: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&thread.id=209247), and it is suggested to look for a new one in example Finder ' entry-level equipment / output-> DAQmx-> Digital measurement (or generation)-> read Dig Port.VI.

    I tried, but along the way ' entry-level equipment / output-> DAQmx-> "only a folder named"Analog Measurement\Voltage"exists.

Also in the search for 'Reading dig Port.VI' does not work.

I've already spent many hours in this research and tent and the fact that I am not able to find not even a basic example, it is quite frustrating and it is making me give up the idea of using Labview.

Please can anyone give me any suggestions where find/download an example simple and minimum to use my USB6501 in Labview 2009?

    Thank you

    Scipione.

First, install DAQmx Base was a mistake. Uninstall it and then install the Driver-OR-DAQmx. The driver must be installed after the installation of LabVIEW. After installation, make sure that the device is listed in MAX under "DAQmx devices. If it is not, your installation is still not correct.

To search for example LabVIEW, see help > find examples. Under Input and Output hardware > DAQmx, you will find the digital generation and numerical measures. You have to look at the simple, timed software examples such as read write dig Chan, writing Port to dig, dig chan, reading Dig Port. You also have the option to use the DAQ Assistant.

  • Outlook Express doesn't send e-mail. 0x800CCC79 error number

I'm moving from one computer to the other.  Both Internet Explorer 6.00.2900.5512.  I think I have all the same settings.  But my new computer doesn't send emails.  He received very well.  Can not answer.  Get the following error message (address of the recipient has been deleted):

The message cannot be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was ' * address email is removed from the privacy *'. Subject 'test', account: 'embarqmail.com', server: "smtp.embarqmail.com", Protocol: SMTP, server response: 554 authentication has failed, have to login', Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 554, error number: 0x800CCC79

That said, you're not authenticate correctly to the outgoing server.  Apparently, embarqmail requires that you authenticate to use their mail server.  On the "Outgoing server" tab of your e-mail account properties, check the box indicating that you must connect to the server.  It may also be true that embarqmail requires the use of one port other than 25, such as 465 or 587.  I saw it mentioned in a single reference that port 25 with authentication but no encryption should be used and in one other than port 587 with authentication and SSL must be used.  See the documentation that gave you your service provider or visit their help pages. • I need to (re) activate Windows, I think it's the fault of my USB hub

I have been using a USB hub recently.  I only have a single reliable USB port (outside), so I plug it into that and into a less reliable port for more power.  Sometimes, it works very well.  Sometimes, the computer can not detect it, and sometimes the computer emits a high-pitched buzzing sound when I plug in the power cable from the hub to the second USB port.  Today when I plugged the power cable, the computer off.  Now the computer asks me to activate Windows, despite having used Windows on this computer for years.  I was not able to connect to the internet to activate online, so I tried by phone.  When I presented the telephone installation ID, the machine on the phone said they do not recognize it as a product "valid."

Is it possible I can get Windows working again, by activating or making it so I don't have to turn it on?

Assuming you can get connected, you can try a system restore, possibly from safe mode. Re-post if you need help with that.

You don't have to use the automated phone system, simply hold the line without pressing any button and you will be sent (eventually) to a real person condition you ignore their pleas. Explain your situation and they will probably (though not really) help you get activated.

Please mark it as useful or response, as appropriate.

  • Need help to set up: 2 different wireless with SSID 2 routers on the same network

    Hi all:

I read on the forum trying to find the answer to this question, but have not found a very clear answer that satisfies all my requirements autour.  An explanatiion more in depth.

I have 1 IP coming via cable modem.  I want to configure two wireless routers (one secured with WPA-TKIP and a non-secure network - a 'guest' If you want to) each with different SSID.  The secure network would be for my server, PC home, webcams IP, DynDNS, update; While having an unsecured wireless router that friends and family can access.  Ideally, I don't want any person who accesses the router unsecured wireless to access my secure network.

Is someone can you please tell me if this is possible.  I think that it is based on some posts, I've seen, but specific details about how to do this would be appreciated.  In addition, my DynDNS must always be able to be updated with the IP of my ISP so that I can access my server and webcams home.

    MATERIAL

    2 WRT54G

    1 EZXS55W

    1 WVC200

    1 WVC54GC

(all my stuff - webcam, dyndns, server, etc. - working on my secure network.) I just need to add the non-secure network)

I know it's a lot, but I'd appreciate any help.  Thank you.

You must be connected to the modem router WRT54G main. Set up the network secure on the main router wireless. Connect all of your computers or wireless devices for the main secure wireless network.

Consider that the IP address of the main router is 192.168.1.1.

Now connect a single computer to Port 1 on the second router wireless.

Open the second wireless router configuration page. Settings wireless SSID, unsecured.

Change the IP address of the second router 192.168.2.1. Save the settings.

Connect the cable from the Ethernet port on the main router to the Internet second port router wireless.

The second power cycle wireless router.

Now the host computers connected to the second network unsecured wireless Wireless will be able to access the Internet only. They will not be able to see the computers or devices connected to the first router.

  • XPS 8910, bi-ecrans, Nvidia GTX 970?

I just got a new 8910 XPS, well. But the video card (Nvidia GeForce GTX 970) only on the card, DVI - D video output. I want to connect a second monitor, DVI - D or VGA input. There are a lot of other jacks on the rear panel, several HDMI, DP (DisplayPort). Are all the HDMI outputs and the DP for a second monitor?

There is only a single HDMI output port on the back of the chassis, #4. #3 is the DP (DisplayPort) aboard.

Because there is not a "Multi screen" option in the Bios. This means that if a video card is added (GeForce GTX 970), cannot use the embedded outside DP or HDMI ports for monitors.

You must attach two monitors to the GeForce GTX 970 addition.

The Dell OEM GeForce GTX 970 has the following video ports =
    DVI - I
    DP
    DP
    DP
    HDMI 2.0

So if #2 monitor has only DVI and VGA ports, you will need to connect to the HDMI port on the GeForce GTX 970.

GeForce GTX 970 DVI - I-->--> #1 monitor DVI DVI to DVI cable to
GeForce GTX 970 out HDMI--> HDMI to DVI cable--> #2 monitor DVI in

You can buy the HDMI cable to DVI at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, etc.

  • MD3000i seems to be only using 1 controller

We had some problems lately with the disk performance in our VMware cluster. Our facility is:

    • 3 of Dell R610 running ESXi 5.1
    • 2 Juniper with 3 gigabit switches VLAN (1 for management, 2 for iSCSI)
    • 1 double Dell MD3000i controller
After troubleshooting for awhile, I found that I could use SMcli to monitor the performance of the SAN. After that, the results were a little surprising as it looks like one of our controllers seems to be totally inactive. I took a screenshot of the results: (ignore the name of the storage array. It was previously used in a configuration of XenServer)
My question is, how do I get it to where the two controllers act as a pair for optimal performance. I think there must be a way to have VMware hosts to take the shortest path for each controller to get the disk, is there not?
Any help would be greatly appreciated that it was me left speechless for awhile and internet research has not received me very far.

How do you carve up your virtual disks? The MD3k series uses a single controller as the owner of a virtual disk and the other controller is only for this virtual disk failover. That is why several virtual disks running (that spread between 2 controllers) is a better choice on a virtual disk of size unique max.

Also; the MD3000i is not validated for vSphere 5.x. It's probably not the cause, but it is important to keep in mind if you plan to use it for production (in general, I would recommend not not to run production on this combo (MD3200i upgrade) or down to vSphere 4.1).

It is also important to use 2 subnets and port 0 on both controllers on a single subnet and port 1 of both controllers in the other subnet. Then, each server should have 1 NIC in each subnet.
