Cannot go beyond the login screen

Hello, I'm looking for help with my HP Pavilion dv7 with windows 7 Home premium I have my uncle who does not use it long. Long enough where he forgot his password and there is no guest just its accounts. So my problem one I'm trying to understand is if it is possible how can I get to the control panel or is it anyway I can create an account.

Thank you Patrick

Hi Patrick,

You can use a password reset, as in the example of free utility at the following link.

New SSD put in place successfully in the MacBook Pro (mid 2010) 10.6.8 OS. Cloned SSD as boot drive, but do not yet installed inside the case.  I used this drive with success for a few days.

Then yesterday with finals and Firefox running, Firefox has suddenly closed and MBP had only limited functionality.  I tried to reopen Firefox, but the error message said it was already open.  I tried to open 'Force Close' to see if this was true and maybe close it there before to continue, but when I click on the Apple, I got a blue screen, then my normal screen, with icons to come 10 seconds later.  After trying many other things, I had to make a difficult stop (by holding down the power button).

I rebooted, entered my password at sign-in, but then, instead of proceeding to my normal screen with background, icons, etc, I'm a blue screen which finally rolled back to my login screen.  Then, I entered my password (it IS correct) and the same process happened (repeated 10 times just to be complete).

I did NOT use the function 'Trim', which I read it, but don't know what it does or how to start it, or it could solve my problem.

TRIM will not solve your problem.

With Snow Leopard, you may need to reinstall the version of this OS supplied with your system; then update 10.6.8. Reinstalling the operating system will not damage your data or applications. But, you must back up your data, if you can, on your external SSD before reinstall OS X.

  • Tecra M2: Vertical lines appeared and cannot go beyond the Toshiba screen

I was watching a movie on DVD WIN and froze my TECRA M2 I restarted, I noticed blue vertical lines on the windows on the screen, then the loading screen went white, I restarted the pc and it Gauthier go beyond screen black screen of toshiba. Some people told me that it is the other HDD VGA. What do you think?

    Hello

For me, it certainly looks like the graphics card failure!
It's really bad, because for the most part to the whole motherboard must be replaced! :(
But to be 100% sure the diagnostic test is necessary.

I think you should contact the ASP in your country. Guys to explain the situation and ask for clarification.

Maybe your warranty is valid? In this case all replacements would be FRO free!
Usually the guarantee must be valid for 24 months if you have saved this notebook on the Toshiba page.

  • How to you turn off the user invited on the login screen?

How do disable you the guest user account on the login screen?

Basically, I have a brand new Macbook, but can't for the life of me figure out how to get rid of the guest user account.

    Summary:

    • MacBook 2016
    • El Capitan 10.11.6
    • FileVault is enabled
    • Find my Mac is disabled
    • Comments User in users and groups is set to Off

Tried the following from another forum:

    1. make sure that 'find my Mac' and guest user are disabled, restart;

    2. check if the system integrity Protection is enabled or disabled by running: csrutil status to the Terminal.

3 if she says ' Protection of the integrity of system status: activated. "go to 4.1.

    4. If not, only 4.4 and 4.7;

4.1 restart in "Recovery Mode": stop and hold command + R after pressing the power button.

4.2 go in "utilities > Terminal" and run the command: csrutil disable.

    4.3 restart;

    4.4 open the Terminal and run: sudo touch /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/EFILogin.framework/Resources/EFIResourceBuild er.bundle/Contents/Resources, this will force the update of the connection EFI;

4.5 reboot (again) in "Recovery Mode": stop and hold command + R after pressing the power button.

    4.6 go in "utilities > Terminal" and run the command: Activate csrutil;

    4.7 reboot and it's fixed!

4.8 re activate 'Find my Mac' as you wish.

    • FileVault is enabled

You cannot disable the Guest user. This is especially in the case where you cannot unlock your hard drive. It provides a limited capacity of Safari so that you can access the services of help on the internet.

I see a user in the control panel users & groups of system settings, but it does not appear in the login screen. How can I fix it? I did a reinstall of system and see that the data is always there the prior installation.

In users and groups > Connection Options, is the verified user list?

If you have FileVault active it cannot list users until you type the Admin password for decrtpt disk.

  • Help: Children are without going through the login screen

My children understand how to access my account on my Macbook without having to type in the username and password.  Thus, for example, if my Macbook is on the login screen, they will be the following: (1) button press F1 to darken the screen. (2) press the key F5 to switch off the light on the keyboard. (3) press the power for a few seconds turn the computer off. (4) press the power button to turn on the computer. and then (5) press and hold the power button when the Apple icon and the status bar.  After a few seconds, they have access to my account as if they had signed using my login credentials.

It becomes very annoying, because they have access to my laptop when I'm not there and I'm starting to lose control over the use of my own computer.  My question is: is it possible that I can keep my kids to connect to my computer this way and make sure my account access cannot be obtained by entering the appropriate user name and password?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/ideas/instructions you may have.

"is it possible that I can keep my kids to connect to my computer this way and ensure access to my account can be obtained by entering the appropriate user name and password?"

    Yes it is.

Open System Preferences > users and groups , and then select the password tab and select the Admin account on the left.

Then click on: Connection Options (you will be prompted for your admin password)

Now click on the the automatic connection: pop up menu and then select disabled.

At this point, it may be advisable to change your admin password.

With your administrator account selected in users and groups, click change password

Write it down and store it somewhere safe.

  • Blue screen in Vista 7 just after the login screen

We get a blue error screen 7th on Vista 64-bit SP1 right after the login screen appears.  The blue screen immediately goes, and system restarts (or sometimes just hangs).  I was not able to find the codes of the 7th in the research:

(took a picture of the screen...)

    STOP: 0x0000007E (oxFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF80002325C87, 0xFFFFFA60165BE3E8, 0xFFFFFA60165BDDC0)

I am able to boot in safe mode.  Do you have a chkdsk C: /F and which did not help.  Do you have a repair system using the Vista startup disk and that did not help.   Went to safe mode and MSCONFIG and position the clean boot and that did not help.  I tried to update to SP2 and unable to complete safe mode.

The ideas and the sage advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Bug Check 0x7E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Bug SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED control has a value of 0x0000007E. This bug check indicates that a system thread threw an exception that the error handler did not.

Important info if you received a STOP Code

If you received a blue error screen, or a stop code, the computer stopped abruptly to protect against data loss. A hardware device, its driver or software might have caused this error. If your copy of Windows is shipped with your computer, contact your computer manufacturer. If you purchased Windows separately from your computer, Microsoft provides support. To find contact information for Microsoft or the manufacturer of your computer, Contact Support.

If you have experience with computers and try to recover from this error, follow the steps in the Microsoft article solution STOP (blue screen) errors in Windows.

These actions could prevent a mistake like this does not happen:

    1. Download and install updates for your computer from Windows Update device drivers.
    2. Scan your computer for computer viruses.
    3. Check your hard drive for errors.

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED parameters

The following settings appear on the blue screen.

To view the settings, click on this link.
    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff559239 (v = VS. 85) .aspx

    CAUSE

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED bug control is a very common bug control. TO
interpret, you must identify which exception has been generated.

    Common exception codes are:

    • 0 x 80000002: STATUS_DATATYPE_MISALIGNMENT indicates an unaligned data reference was encountered.

    • 0 x 80000003: STATUS_BREAKPOINT indicates a breakpoint or ASSERTION was met when no kernel debugger was attached to the system.

    • 0xc0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates a memory access violation has occurred.

For a complete list of exception codes, see the Ntstatus.h file located in theinc directory
the Microsoft Windows Driver Kit (WDK).

    Solve the problem

If you do not have to debug this problem, you must use certain basic troubleshooting techniques.

    • Make sure you have enough disk space.
    • If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the
    • Reference of the manufacturer for driver updates.
    • Try changing video cards.
    • Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS.
    • Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading.

If you plan to debug this problem, you may find it difficult to get a stack trace. Parameter 2
(the address of the exception) must identify the driver or function that caused the problem.

If the exception code 0 x 80000003 occurs, a hard-coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but the system
has been launched with the /nodebug. switch. This problem should occur infrequently. If it occurs repeatedly,
Make sure that a kernel debugger is connected and the system is booted with the Switch/DEBUG .

In case of exception code 0 x 80000002, the trap frame provides additional information.

If you do not know the specific cause of the exception, consider the following questions:

    • Hardware incompatibility. Make sure all new hardware that is installed is listed in the
    • List of Microsoft Windows Marketplace tested products.
    • Service driver or defective peripheral system. A service driver or defective peripheral system can be
    • responsible for this error. Hardware problems, such as the incompatibilities of the BIOS, memory, conflicts
    • and IRQ conflicts can also generate this error.

If a driver is listed by name in the bug check message, disable or remove that driver. Disable
or remove drivers or services that have been recently added. If the error occurs during startup
sequence and the system partition is formatted with the NTFS file system, you may be able to use safe
Mode to rename or to delete the faulty driver. If the driver is used as part of the system startup procedure
in Safe Mode, you must start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file.

If the problem is associated with Win32k.sys, the source of the error may be a third remote
control program. If this software is installed, you can remove the boot of the computer service
by using the Recovery Console, and then by removing the offending system service file.

Check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the
device or the driver that generated the bug check 0x7E.

You can also disable memory cache BIOS may try to resolve the error. You should also
Run the diagnostics of material, especially the scanner memory, which provides the manufacturer of the system.
For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

The error that generates this message may occur after the first reboot during Windows Setup, or
Once the installation is complete. A possible cause of the error is lack of disk space for installation and system
BIOS incompatibilities. For problems during the installation of Windows that are associated with the absence of disc
space, reduce the number of files on the disk drive hard target. Find and delete any temporary
the files that you do not have to have files hidden Internet, backup application and.chkfiles files that
contain fragments of file saved to disk scans. You can also use another hard drive with more drive
free space for the installation. You can solve the problems of BIOS by upgrading the version of the system BIOS.

    Not true - see here:
