  • Cannot install the printer. The print processor is not (winprint)

    According to the scenario:

DC1 in site 1 runs Windows Server 2012 Standard, printing and Document services are installed. Many printers are installed and work.

DC2 in site 2 is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64-bit, printing and Document services are installed. I want to install printers that users in this site must be able to print with.

Same printer exist in both sites. In Site 1 on DC1, I was able to properly install the driver, add the port and installed the printer.

I took the same driver DC2 and installed. I created the Port with the IP address of the printer but when I finish the Add Printer Wizard I get an error message saying: cannot install the printer. There is no winprint print processor.

I was looking in many forums and before you ask, the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Print Processors\winprint key does not exist on two domain controllers (tried to create thispost), but makes no difference.

The winprint.dll file does not exist in the C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\w32x86 directory on any of the machines, but is located under C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\x64 on the two machines.

There seems to be no difference in configuration between these two machines, but as I mentioned abov, on DC1, I'm able to add the printer, and I'm not on DC2.

Is there anything I can do to get the job to the printer on DC2?

(And for those who ask why install on a domain controller, there is no member server in this site).

    Thank you

    Hi Michael,

In addition to the suggestion of Palcouk, follow these steps and check if they help.

    Step 1:

After you download the drivers from the manufacturer's website, right-click on the Setup file and run as administrator.

    Step 2:

Temporarily turn off UAC (User Account Control) and try to install the driver.

  • Cannot install the printer. The print processor does not exist.

Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.  I am able to install HP LaserJet printers but no virtual printer.  I can not load the XPS from Windows printer or Print to OneNote.  I also tried to load more than one PDF printer and none of them work.  The error I keep gettig to "cannot install the printer.  The print processor does not exist. »

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

My laptop has been reloaded from a picture, and I was not able to start the print spooler at all. I have studied the issue and cleaned files and registry entries and was able to print on real printers, but not virtual. That's when I asked the question.

Finished reimage the computer again, and once again, I could not start the print service. We discovered that the image that the laptop was built from was actually a VMWare virtual machine, so we started to look in that direction.   We had to delete the following entry in the registry and rebooting, how the print spooler began to work very well.

[Print HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\ThinPrint for VMWare Port Monitor]

You wanted to post this in case someone else ran into a similar problem.

This is what worked for me.

I copy the files from the print processor from another machine to work with the same architecture as the one who has the problem (x 86 or x 64).

Step 1: Stop the print spooler service.

Step 2: Copy all the files and folders on the system to work under C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\x64.

Step 3: Make a backup of the system files listed in the C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\x64 problem.

Step 4: Paste the files that you copy from the system of work in the case of the United Nations, the problem system.

Step 5: Start the print spooler service.

Try to connect or install your net printer and it should work now.

I hope this work for all of you.

  • Cannot install network printer on Windows 7. Detects the printer then it says cannot locate the driver. All my vista and XP machines have no problem finding drivers. It is a 32-bit 64-bit vs questions? How can I fix it?

Cannot install network printer on Windows 7.  Detects the printer then it says cannot locate the driver.  All my vista and XP machines have no problem finding drivers. It is a 32-bit 64-bit vs questions?  How can I fix it?
Windows Server 2008 network.  Printers have ip addresses. Install the drivers from the Print Manager.  /Terminal Server Workgroup installation.

It's the same situation with XP.  The print driver names must match.  If you notice the name of the printer driver that uses XP is a name different from the one that is installed when you plug in the device on the Windows 7 computer.  This is just my assumption, please correct me if this isn't the case.

The real solution is to install a 32-bit driver on the XP machine that uses the same name that the 64-bit driver and share a printer using this driver or find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name as the 32-bit driver installed on XP and install the driver on XP.

I'm running Windows 7 (not Vista) and trying to install a Kodak printer driver and get "cannot install the printer. Operation could not be performed. error 0x000003eb"I searched constantly everyday for a fix. You have a solution other than what answers are already in this forum.  I uninstalled and reinstalled tried wireless and usb, installation driver separately, tried to install it in safe mode, run now utility scan.  I think that the problem began with an update of Windows 7 which has hung up and eventually having a corrupted file?

    Hello

What is the exact model of the printer number?
I suggest you to check if the printer is compatible with Windows 7:
If the printer is compatible, then uninstall all the drivers connected the printer to the computer, download the latest drivers from the website of the manufacturer, the install without connection to the printer.
Connect the printer when it prompts.

If the problem persists, contact the printer manufactrer for assistance

  • Cannot install drivers for Deskjet 3650 in Windows 7 XP

I have a HP Deskjet 3650 which is connected through the USB port on my primary computer running Windows 7.  I can print without problem, I have problems sharing this printer with 2 other computers running Windows XP.  I downloaded the drivers for XP and excerpts on the Windows 7 computer.

On the properties of the printer HP Deskjet 3600 series, I clicked on the sharing tab.

Share this printer and rendering of printing on client computers are both checked.

When I click on additional drivers, only X 64 is checked and said yes less installed.

The two other options (Itanium and x 86) are both unchecked and say no less installed.

I tried x 86 control and clicking on OK.  Then I am asked to install print drivers and browse to where are printer drivers.  I navigate to the 3600, enu, pilots, win2k_xp folder and see hpf3600k.inf when I click Open, then select OK, I get a selected printer driver not found error that indicates the specified location does not contain the driver for hp deskjet 3600 series (BOBO) on the architecture of processor required.

On one of the XP machines, I installed the printer software and am not able to print if I physically plug the printer on it.

On another XP machine, I have installed the printer software, but I download and extract the drivers.  When I click on the Add Printer Wizard and select the printer on the network, it tells me that I'm about to connect to a printer on the computer Windows 7 and says that it will automatically install a print on my machine driver.  I click Yes to allow him to continue and he told me that the server for the hp deskjet 3600 printer doesn't have the installed printer driver and I can click OK to search for the correct driver.  I click OK and navigate to the folder I extracted the drivers to and see that hpf3600k.inf is located in the folder and click OK and I get a window of driver error install that says that Windows cannot locate a suitable printer driver.  To help locate and install a suitable driver, contact your administrator.

So, it seems to me that the driver that I downloaded on the site of hp for Windows XP is not the correct driver, am I wrong here?

How can I get this printer to print on all 3 computers work without having to move from one to the other.  The printer must be physically connected to the Windows 7 computer, as the other 2 are in children's rooms.

Try the following: on the machine XP go to the printers and Faxes folder, add a local printer, printer, create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the name of the actual share of the shared computer and printer), OK, and then click disk and point to the directory where you unzipped the driver XP.

On the XP machine, you have already installed the driver do the following: go to the printers and Faxes folder, right click on the Deskjet 3650, select Properties, Ports, the port, Local port Add, new Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the name of the shared computer and printer), OK.
